00:30Oh, let's try this kind of blaster and this kind of laser weapon, this kind of energy weapon.
00:33It's not microchips, it's vacuum tubes. It's not hard corners, it's rounded corners.
00:38It's the ray gun instead of the M60.
00:41There was a lot of guns and there was a lot of fun guns in the first game, but we've
00:44added so many more.
00:46And some of those definitely range from the crazy 50s sci-fi feel to the more contemporary
00:52you understand why that gun is cool because it's a grenade machine gun.
00:56And you understand the machine gun that shoots grenades.
00:58It's probably pretty awesome.
01:01We have a little 9mm submachine gun, it looks like a World War II grease gun, like sort of compacted.
01:06And that's a really cool, distinctive little weapon.
01:10The Ranger Sequoia, which is this massive ornamented revolver that only elite Rangers have.
01:17It fires like rifle rounds, it's very powerful.
01:21We wanted to make sure that energy weapons had a very distinct feeling from guns.
01:24We wanted there to be something mechanically different about them so that the player had a different type of experience
01:29while using them.
01:30So we introduced this thing called the Recharger Rifle.
01:33And the Recharger Rifle, you don't have to carry ammo for it, it recharges it automatically.
01:37But it doesn't do it as fast as you can shoot it.
01:39You have to kind of pace out how you fire it.
01:53Our audio designers have put a lot of effort into sort of changing the sound.
01:56Part of it is because our environments are so open and there's so much desert involved,
02:00they wanted to make sure that they had distant sounds and close sounds.
02:06What we do is we take the Fallout 3 weapon assets
02:08and we have repurposed them so that they sound a little more like they're in the environment of Fallout 3
02:14Vegas.
02:14So you hear the rapport of the sound bouncing off the different spaces in the mountains, in the background and
02:20all that.
02:24We're working with Enon Zur again and Enon was really excited about the sort of shift in locations.
02:29I feel that going on this game was sort of like a coming back experience but also a whole new
02:36one.
02:39We've been very fortunate to have the best actors in the world,
02:42some of the best musicians in the world coming in, best composers in the world and the best sound designers.
02:47And all these things have come together to really create a soundscape that I'm very proud of.
02:52It achieves the goals that we really set out for this project.
02:59To be continued...
02:59...
02:59Grazie a tutti.
