00:15Dead Space Extraction is the official prequel to Dead Space,
00:19which came out last year for the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
00:22Extraction takes place three weeks before Dead Space,
00:25and you actually get to see how the infection broke out
00:29sull'epoca.
00:30What in God's name are you doing?
00:32Get off him!
00:35What's interesting about the story
00:37is that this time around we're following
00:39a group of individuals. We're not focused on
00:41one specific character.
00:43We find ourselves in the middle of the game
00:44with a group of people who have kind of been
00:47thrust together because of this tragic
00:49occurrence. Luckily for you, the planet
00:51cracker Ishimura is right there in orbit
00:53and you and a group of survivors
00:55decide to commandeer a shuttle
00:56and escape to the Ishimura.
00:58Little do you know that your adventure is
01:00just beginning. She's gonna crash! Get down!
01:06The comic and the animated feature run
01:09parallel to Dead Space Extraction and there
01:11are key characters from the original Dead
01:12Space that may make an appearance in
01:14Extraction. Fans are gonna be able to
01:16find out exactly what happened to those characters
01:19and see it through the eyes of these
01:21all-new characters. If you played the
01:23original game, rest assured that Dead Space
01:25Extraction for the Wii is an authentic Dead
01:26Space experience. It's gory, it's
01:29science fiction, it's horror, it's terror,
01:31it's everything you want out of a Dead Space game.
01:37I think one of the exciting things about
01:40Dead Space as a franchise is how much
01:43there is. Even now with the graphic novel
01:46and the animated feature and the first game
01:50and now with Extraction, we're still only
01:52scratching the surface of what there is
01:54that makes up the whole universe. And
01:56obviously, you know, more of it will be
01:58revealed and we'll get deeper into it.
02:06There are a lot of horror games and a lot of horror
02:08movies out there, but what makes Dead Space
02:10Extraction different than the most is that
02:13we don't really want to go out and shock
02:15the player gratuitously. This is not a game
02:17about bogeymen hiding in closets. This is
02:19not a game about slaughtering hundreds
02:21and hundreds of zombies. This is a game
02:23about tension, about pacing. You may be
02:26walking down a hallway and we may have the
02:28camera moving in a way that you feel like
02:31you're scared. And then there may be a sound
02:33and the camera may cut to look at it. And
02:35then when you turn back, perhaps there's
02:37something there ready to attack you. I mean,
02:39that might be one of the ways that we actually
02:41use the camera to our advantage to set up
02:43a scare. Hello? Can anybody hear me?
02:49The main goals are to make sure that the
02:52characters each get their own story.
02:54Extraction is much more character focused
02:57than the first Dead Space game. And each of
02:59the characters has a very distinct
03:00personality and a very distinct story
03:02to work through in the game.
03:07Get in the elevator!
03:10Where are we going? If you think about
03:12Hollywood, they've been doing movies for
03:14years. And they've been directing kind of
03:16what's seen on screen in a very, you know,
03:18cinematic way. So with Extraction we're
03:20really trying to, you know, learn from
03:22what we see in film and apply that to
03:24our game by using the same types of
03:26camera tricks and motion that you see
03:28in some of today's horror and science
03:30fiction movies. Hello? We're not done yet.
03:33Look out!
03:36Dead Space Extraction is going to provide a
03:38window for Dead Space fans into the events
03:41that occur when the marker is extracted.
03:42But it's also going to develop other key
03:45ideas that could permeate throughout the
03:47franchise. It's going to answer some
03:48questions for fans of Dead Space and it's
03:50going to open up some new questions for
03:52fans. And we're hoping that people really
03:53get into what we've created around the
03:55characters and around the general
03:57experience in the game.
