02:57really do appreciate your time I appreciate your time
02:59so tell me about where we are so this is one of my favorite studios now that I'm in album
03:04mode I'm just going to where I'm comfortable at
03:07nice excited for the upcoming album as someone who loves music I feel like the first album is really important
03:14and imperative for like an artist career because it kind of sets the tone for what's to come
03:19are we almost ready or yeah but I feel like a pressure that I have is not releasing an album
03:24yet because this is my first album so just the pressure of having like a masterpiece
03:29do you write at the studio if I have something that's like heavy on my heart I write it out
03:35but sometimes I come to the studio and I'll just like do like a thought vomit on the mic and
03:43see what comes out
03:43yeah what's the toughest thing about being here
03:46um sometimes the toughest thing is like writing in front of people but I feel like it makes me a
03:50better writer because it gets me out of my comfort zone
03:53being a very proficient poet you still get nervous writing in front of people
03:56yes
03:57man that's that makes me feel comfortable
03:59thank you so much for that
04:00why
04:01because I still get nervous with I'm super nervous for this
04:05yeah the nerves are still there
04:07is that your bag
04:08yes
04:09it's beautiful D&G that's their like exclusive collection
04:12they're made of like wood and porcelain
04:14yeah come on
04:16that is that is gorgeous
04:17I know that's why you know your fashion
04:18take a gander
04:20that is incredible
04:21you know your stuff
04:22it's beautiful
04:23I know you enjoy this place but uh I would like to go for a ride
04:28let's do it
04:28we can hop in my car
04:29you're driving
04:30let's go do this
04:32I got this car for my birthday two years ago
04:36holy shit that is one hell of a birthday present
04:39her name is big mama
04:41and why
04:42because she a big mama
04:43yes indeed
04:48the hip-hop world loves the rolls-royce continent
04:51drivers include 50 Cent, Cardi B and Drake
04:55but those aren't the only stars you'll find inside
04:57look up and no less than 1,344 LEDs are hand sewn into the ceiling
05:04the mascot known as the spirit of ecstasy
05:07first appeared in a car commissioned in 1911 by a prominent British politician
05:12legend has it that the figure was based on the likeness of his secretary turned mistress
05:19why the rolls-royce
05:20I really enjoy how it drives
05:22and if I'm driving I want to feel like I'm driving on a cloud
05:25and this is that
05:26and this is that
05:27and I just wanted to reward myself that year
05:29I was working really hard
05:30so I wanted to go big
05:31so I got big mama
05:32big in every sense
05:34absolutely
05:34this is the absolute pinnacle of luxury and a big truck
05:38and you know what's crazy about this?
05:40this car actually saved my life
05:42I was driving to the studio
05:44I was on the freeway and I was really tired
05:46I literally fell asleep
05:48I hit the divider
05:49the car bounced up
05:50I woke up in the air
05:51and then it bounced perfectly back in my lane
05:54and I kept driving
05:55I'm not going to lie
05:56I was super shook
05:57but if I was in any other car
05:59I would have definitely gotten into a car crash
06:01the car is extremely durable
06:02so I'm proud of that
06:04and it is a bit of a cloudy day in LA
06:06I'm sure you know this
06:08but there isn't a better car for rainy weather
06:10because the umbrella
06:11oh my goodness
06:13is it okay?
06:14yeah let's go
06:14so
06:16classic staple for the rolls
06:18they put the umbrellas
06:20in the doors
06:21and the fact that you knew that
06:23that's as rewarding as the comments about the bag
06:25you know your stuff
06:26which is very cool to hear
06:28man the piano black wood
06:29the classic mandarin interior
06:32it looks just impeccable on the white
06:34and we're in for an awesome drive
06:36because these things drive fantastic
06:38so let's go for a ride
06:41we're in for an awesome drive
06:42because these things drive fantastic
06:44so let's go for a ride
06:46that's what let's do it
06:48so when did all this start?
06:50when did you start putting pen to paper?
06:52when I was 13
06:54what do you interview you girl?
06:56I'm gonna be a rapper
06:57and why?
06:59because I was an introvert
07:00and I didn't know how to express myself
07:02that's tough to process
07:03do you still consider yourself?
07:05I tend to suppress my emotions
07:07I tend to like disinternalize everything
07:10and I deal with it like internally
07:12and I don't like talking about it with other people
07:14thank you very much for sharing
07:16of course
07:16let's roll
07:28why do you feel you can't share anything?
07:30I was the only child growing up
07:32so I think it just comes from
07:34not having a sister or brother
07:36to communicate my emotions with
07:38I honestly would just doodle during class
07:41doodling turned into poetry
07:42I had a creative writing class
07:44and when we would do poetry
07:46my poems would typically be the most popular ones
07:49so I think that kind of like gave me the confidence
07:51to continue writing
08:02what is Icy like?
08:04I feel like the Icy life is the life of a girl who's hustling
08:07so when I initially wrote my first song Icy Girl
08:10that's one of my most popular songs
08:12when you hear it you think of like a girl
08:14who living this luxurious life
08:17diamonds, money, blah blah blah
08:19but for me when I wrote that song I was broke
08:22so the title translates so well for like the Icy Life
08:25because I've always been a go-getter
08:26even in college I had four jobs
08:28what were your college jobs?
08:30so
08:33I worked at Abercrombie
08:36I worked at Victoria's Secret
08:38I was a coder for one of my professors
08:41I was a waitress at the strip club
08:44and I did on and off ambassadorships for Nike events
08:47and I started my own company
08:49I was selling hats and shirts
08:51called Money Making Mommies
08:52you started an apparel brand
08:54all in college?
08:56yes
08:57so coding
08:58that's a skill I wish I could have
08:59I just won't kick myself in the ass enough hard enough to do it
09:02well you know you don't have no money
09:04you ain't got no choice
09:11how has your life changed on this path?
09:14because being able to say
09:16I bought a Rolls Royce for my birthday
09:19there's not a lot of folks that can say that
09:21I think one of the biggest changes is just being financially free
09:25when did that moment come for you?
09:27when I got signed
09:28before that I would literally do an odd job
09:31make rent and then go back to zero
09:33after that my steady income was being an influencer
09:37but even those checks
09:38I would only be left with a couple hundred dollars a month
09:41finally I got discovered
09:43I got that big advance from my label
09:45which is when I was able to just
09:47not have to stress about money
09:51however like with all the success
09:52and all the money
09:53and you know the luxury of being successful
09:55it's honestly quite lonely
09:57I just think that not a lot of people who I grew up with
10:01like can understand my lifestyle
10:04and it's just really lonely at times
10:06I can certainly relate
10:09I also struggled with like
10:11yo nobody gets me
10:12I think as a kid some of the wild shit
10:14I used to come up with
10:15I used to put on like one man plays
10:17and play make believe by myself
10:19and my brothers just weren't in that dimension
10:23mm-hmm
10:23and I got I got super bullied as a kid
10:26whoa
10:27so like not only did my family crew not get it
10:30when I tried to express up self outside my family crew
10:34I ended up getting my ass kicked
10:35wow I can relate to that
10:37so growing up I probably transferred to like
10:4010 or 12 schools
10:41so I was always a new girl
10:43and I would get like bullied
10:45you know just kid little kids are mean
10:47but I honestly think that's where a lot of my self-confidence came from
10:50because it's just like you guys may not like me but I'm gonna like me
10:53man I cannot tell you how much that resonates with me
10:57I love that
10:58there comes a point in time where you have to stand up for yourself
11:00yes but that's not easy
11:02yeah it's not
11:07you seem incredibly motivated
11:09you are a hustler
11:10you are driven
11:11the name of the show is What Drives You
11:13and this beautiful V12 Rolls Royce is getting us around town today
11:17but inside your mind
11:19what drives you?
11:21art
11:22creativity
11:23when I achieve the accomplishments I have set for myself
11:27I can see myself curating and mentoring younger artists
11:31because I feel like as a female artist I've never had a mentor
11:36so I've literally just been learning as I go
11:38why do you think you lacked a mentor?
11:41when I see interviews from male artists they always talk about an older male artist reaching out
11:47mentoring them taking them under the wing
11:49but as a woman I feel like we don't have that
11:52however if you want to change something you have to be the change
11:55so typically when I run into like new musicians especially female artists
12:00I always try to get five minutes of their time and I try to just do like a vomit of
12:03everything that I've learned in this business
12:06if I were an artist, a female artist, to come up and ask you
12:10before the five minutes
12:11what would you tell me in five minutes?
12:13in five minutes I would say you are definitely your own boss
12:16and don't let anyone take that away from you
12:18I always tell them to just follow their gut and follow their intuition
12:21because I didn't have like guidance in my career
12:24I've always yearned for that
12:26I think it's a little bit of projecting
12:28like me trying to be what I didn't have
12:39you talked about being your own boss
12:41what does that mean?
12:42the stronger you are as a boss
12:44is a reflection of how you are as a leader
12:46so I try to lead the best way that I can
12:49because I grew up playing sports
12:51I'm like highly competitive
12:53so I just want to be the best
12:55I definitely can relate to that
12:57what sports did you play growing up?
12:59I ran track
13:00I played volleyball
13:01and I also played football
13:03which is why I love football so much
13:05no kidding
13:05what ages did you play football?
13:07I played football from the time I was a freshman
13:10to a sophomore in college
13:11I played powder puff
13:12man that is fantastic
13:16my grandfather played football
13:17we played with Joe Montana
13:19he was a part of the team that won the first Super Bowl ring
13:22holy hell
13:24did you have a relationship growing up?
13:26yeah my grandparents raised me
13:27no kidding
13:29so what was that like?
13:31well my parents had me really young
13:32my mom was 17
13:33my dad was 20
13:36and they were always working
13:37but I feel like my grandparents were like my second mom and dad
13:42what was it like to have Super Bowl grandfather?
13:45to be honest as a kid you don't really pay attention to those things
13:48you're just happy to be there
13:49the Super Bowl is very important to me
13:52that's the day that I met my wife
13:53wow what's her name?
13:55her name is Shay
13:56shout out to Shay
13:57yes indeed
13:58hey Shay
14:01you said your grandparents were a great support system in your life
14:05mm-hmm
14:05who do you lead on now for support?
14:08I'm a big family person
14:09I have twin cousins that I grew up with
14:11they're phenomenal
14:12they like my heart
14:12like I feel like those are my sisters
14:14I have four friends that I've had a consistent friendship with my whole life
14:18I met one when I was in kindergarten
14:20one when I was in middle school
14:22one when I was in high school
14:23and one when I was in college
14:24that's crazy
14:25I have the same thing
14:26wow
14:28my fantasy with my besties is

14:32good food
14:33mimosas
14:34go to a day party afterwards

14:38a day party
14:39sounds good
14:40a lit day club
14:42what the is that?
14:43John
14:45I'm a little older
14:46I don't know
14:47what's a day party?
14:48basically a club
14:49that's during the day
14:50oh those are the best
14:52I prefer day parties over my clubs
14:54day parties
14:57he's my mind
15:02how is life
15:03as a performing

20:38not only did Saweetie push me out of my comfort zone to try something new
20:43but my time with her has shown me that she is a hustler in every sense of the word
20:48just like Saweetie the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is classy and indestructible
20:52it's the perfect reward for all of her hard work
20:55whether she's day partying with her besties
20:58or working nights in the studio
20:59one thing's clear
21:01she's got crazy talent behind a piece of canvas
21:04and behind a microphone
21:12and with that
21:13I bring you to a place that drives me
21:16my garage
21:17to talk about the Lamborghini Yalpa
21:20Ferruccio Lamborghini was a very successful tractor manufacturer
21:24so much so that he could buy and drive multiple Ferraris
21:27but he always hated the clutch
21:30and those two gentlemen Enzo Ferraro and Ferruccio Lamborghini got together one day
21:34Ferruccio said to Enzo
21:36hey your clutch isn't so good on the Ferrari I think I can make a better one
21:40Enzo said stick to your tractors kid
21:42he did the racing to me
21:43so he started his own company
21:46Lamborghini
21:46when you said Lamborghini in the 80s
21:49this thing wasn't even on anybody's radar
21:52but this car is everything Lamborghini is
21:55it's flashy
21:57it's outrageous
21:59it is undeniably progressive for the time period
22:02it is a poster car
22:04it is a poster car
22:05that just like Ferruccio Lamborghini
22:08gets no respect
22:20I feel like this 80s montage should be behind me
22:28gosh this thing is fun
22:33okay that doesn't exactly scream

22:37this is undeniably 80s
22:40the deep circle
22:42lots of plastic
22:43but also lots of leather
22:47so we talked about wanting to earn respect
22:49that's the story of my life
22:51certainly wasn't the WWE's first pick
22:54but inch by inch
22:56I was able to be outrageous
22:59that's what drives me about this car
23:02it's the ability to earn your respect
23:04so I'm John Cena
23:06and until next time
23:07this is me telling you to always ask
