Indonesia is seeking USD4.7 billion in budget savings to cushion its economy from the fallout of the conflict in the Middle East. The govt is also considering fuel-saving and work-from-home measures.

00:22Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said his cabinet was making every effort to cut costs
00:28by curbing energy consumption and boosting production of renewables, mainly solar power.
00:34So far, Indonesians have yet to see long queues at petrol stations,
00:38even as global oil prices continue to surge and fluctuate.
00:42Fuel subsidies remain a big part of the picture.
00:46Indonesia, Southeast Asia's largest economy, covers 30 to 40 percent of consumer fuel costs,
00:52which represents about 15 percent of the national budget.
