00:38So this is a massive project for us here at Crystal Dynamics. Not only is it the first trailer of
00:42the campaign that is setting the tone and ambition for our vision, but it's also the first time that we
00:46had a chance to work with some of our acclaimed partners, including Visual Works based out of Tokyo.
00:50Over the next few minutes, you're going to get a behind-the-scenes look at how we took concept all
00:54the way through to our global launch pre-E3 this year.
00:57Hear from some of the people who were in Tegels to process, including Ikimori-san and Zue-san from the
01:02acclaimed Visual Works Studio.
01:04So without further ado, let's dip in and give you a behind-the-scenes look at this acclaimed Tomb Raider
01:08turning point making of.
01:15Before we get into the trailer itself, it's important to put that in the context of the larger story that
01:20we wanted to tell.
01:20This is Lara's first big adventure. She's fresh out of college, but her life's passion, that Lara wants more than
01:29anything to establish herself as an explorer, as an adventurer, as an archaeologist.
01:37In picking a destination for Lara's adventure, we really wanted to make sure that she was put through an ordeal
01:44that would transform her from this young, ambitious archaeologist into the Tomb Raider that she would become.
01:52She really goes through a massive arc. This is a Lara in a situation that we've never seen before.
01:57So the goal was that by the time you get to the end of the trailer, you really feel like
02:00she's about to embark on something very new and very different.
02:02And she doesn't really know whether or not this is her.
02:07So we began the process of looking for a partner to be able to create this trailer.
02:11We looked at tons of people. We've worked with many people in the industry over the years, from L.A.
02:16to the U.K.
02:18And really, what came to a head was the Deus Ex trailer.
02:21Visual Works had just begun working with Montreal and created probably, to us, the most mind-blowing CG we've ever
02:28seen in our lives.
02:33Visual Works is what we did in the內部 of Visual Works.
02:39We have a series of high-end CG films that are used in the game.

02:46We also have a series of CG films that are used in the Square Enix group.
02:56So the partnership began last year at E3. That was our first time meeting with them.
03:01Visual Works for many, many years now has been worked on a lot of the Final Fantasy trailers.
03:06And as we all know, over the years they've gotten better and better and better.
03:09And the detail and the attention has become absolutely phenomenal.
03:13And for us, it was trying to bring a piece of that to our trailer.
03:17That's something we can't find out so much.
03:23It means that there is where we are this.
03:24It's been really just when we are looking for real.
03:27And we also find out that the film is very well-built.
03:29And in reality, in reality, the世界 has been very rolling.
