00:14to flyers waiting in ridiculously long, we are talking hours-long security lines.
00:19Trump made the announcement on Truth Social Sunday, offering support to the TSA agents who've
00:24remained, quote, despite the fact that the radical left Democrats, who are only focused
00:28on protecting hardline criminals who have entered our country illegally, are endangering the USA by
00:33holding back the money that was long ago agreed to with signed and sealed contracts and all.
00:39Security lines have stretched on for as long as three hours at some airports,
00:43owing to this staffing shortage. The Post's Victor Nava has more on what the president said
00:48and what travelers can expect this week. So President Trump announced that he's going to
00:53send ICE agents to airports as travelers face long lines at TSA checkpoints. Border Czar Tom Holman was
01:03asked about this during an interview on one of the Sunday shows, and he explained that the ICE agents
01:11are not going to be performing the actual specialized tasks that TSA screeners do, like operating the X-ray
01:19machines. What the ICE agents are going to be doing, according to Holman, is performing other
01:26tasks that TSA does, like guarding exits and guarding entry points. Holman explained that by having ICE
01:34agents do those sorts of jobs, the TSA agents, the TSA screeners, can focus on the more specialized
01:40tasks. Democrats are not happy with Trump's plan to send ICE agents to airports. House Minority Leader
01:47Hakeem Jeffries has already criticized the plan. He was interviewed on CNN Sunday morning, and he
01:54said the last thing the American people need are untrained ICE agents at airports all across the
02:00country, potentially to brutalize or, in some instances, kill them. So Jeffries was referring to
02:06the actions by some federal immigration officers in Minneapolis earlier this year.
