U.S. stock futures dramatically reversed early losses on Monday, with the Dow Jones soaring more than 1,200 points after President Donald Trump announced a temporary halt to planned military action against Iran. The shift follows weeks of market turmoil fueled by the conflict in the Middle East. -- https://www.benzinga.com/news/politics/26/03/51401768/trump-pauses-iran-strikes-for-five-days-amid-very-good-and-productive-talks

Taking to Truth Social early Monday, President Trump reported having "very good and productive conversations" with Iranian officials over the last 48 hours regarding a "complete and total resolution" of hostilities. Based on the "tenor and tone" of these ongoing discussions, Trump instructed the Department of Defense to postpone all strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period, subject to the continued success of the talks. This de-escalation comes just hours before a 48-hour ultimatum to reopen the Strait of Hormuz was set to expire.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE: SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (NASDAQ: QQQ), which track the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, respectively, were higher in premarket on Monday. The SPY was up 1.59% at $658.88, while the QQQ advanced 1.32% to $589.74.
