00:12This is Double Dragon 5, the fifth in the line of Double Dragon games, but the previous ones were more
00:20side-scrollers, and this is more of a 2D fighting game, kind of like Street Fighter Mortal Kombat version, more
00:27like Street Fighter than Mortal Kombat.
00:31The company that got this basically got the name and developed their own game based off of this series.
00:40Now here you get to pick what guy you want, you know, let's get the hot chicken, the bondage outfit,
00:48with the whip, and, oh yeah, and then so here you're picking what area you're going to play at.
00:55And, um, you have different guys and you fight, and just like any other fighting game.
01:05This particular game was not like the previous Double Dragon games.
01:10Yeah, the previous ones were side-scrollers, which were really, really good games.
01:14The original Double Dragon game was, you know, a monster arcade hit.
01:18They just basically took the name and they pieced it into a Street Fighter type game.
01:25You know, the characters come from the previous game, so this is a different version of it.
01:33It came out for the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo at the same time.
01:39And I hate bashing companies like U.S. Gold and Ocean and Tele Games because they were big supporters of
01:46Atari at the time when no one wanted to develop games for the Jaguar or any Atari system.
01:51These guys are coming around.
01:52But you know what?
01:53This game sucks.
01:54This is like one of the worst games for the Jaguar.
01:57And also Dragon, the Bruce Lee story.
02:00Really bad game.
02:02Take a look at it.
02:03It looks like a Sega Genesis game.
02:06You know, and that's the problem.
02:09Here's another level we're going to go to.
02:11Look at that.
02:12These guys look very...
02:15Nothing too exciting about it.
02:17I mean, try playing Ultra Vortex and combine or compare the two.
02:21It's like night and day.
02:22Here's a different street scene.
02:24We'll take a look at the quality of it.
02:26I hear the flash is really annoying, by the way.
02:28Look at that.
02:30This looks like a 16-bit Genesis game.
02:32What they used to do is they used to crank this stuff out.
02:36You know, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Atari Jaguar, maybe on a computer as well.
02:42The same graphics, the same look, the same everything.
02:45The idea was to get as many as is possible out.
02:48You know, and sell as many as you can.
02:51They never stopped to realize that the Jaguar could do a lot more than this.
02:55as Ultra Vortex and Rayman show.
02:58You know, make the music better.
03:00Make the colors better.
03:02Even if that was the game still...
03:05It stinks.
03:06I mean, it's so tough to play.
03:08I mean, I just feel like I'm just pressing buttons.
03:10And there's no...
03:12You know, it's just a bunch of people playing.
03:14And it's just a really, really, really bad game.
03:18I wish they put it out for the Jaguar.
03:21Because it's one of the reasons why people were slamming it at the time.
03:24Like, look at the games like this.
03:25And, you know, and Dino Dudes.
03:27And, you know, Dragon.
03:28And Dino Dudes is actually a pretty good game.
03:30But, um, they were just slamming it.
03:32So, uh, I would avoid this at all costs.
03:39I'm giving this game a D.
03:41The only reason it doesn't get a D- is because Double Dragon was a good series.
03:46And they completely screwed it up.
03:48Um, there's really nothing good about this game.
03:51If you want a fighting game, get Ultra Vortex or Fight for Life.
03:54But just avoid this.
03:55This is a really, really bad game.
03:57D.
04:00D.
