00:08Welcome to the Spain and Inga Civilization DLC Pack for Sid Meier's Civilization V.
00:13In this walkthrough we'll show you two of the new civilizations in this expansion
00:17and give you a sneak peek at a new scenario, Conquest of the New World.
00:22Dios bendiga a aquellos que lo merezcan.
00:24Soy Isabel de España.
00:26Meet Queen Isabella.
00:27She's back in Civilization V to lead the Spanish Civilization.
00:31Each civilization in Sid Meier's Civilization V has a unique ability
00:34and Spain's power is called Seven Cities of Gold.
00:38Spain gets a gold bonus for discovering a natural wonder
00:40and this bonus is enhanced if Spain is the first civilization to find it.
00:44If you can bring the wonder into the borders of your empire,
00:47the bonus for these wonders are doubled.
00:49A good effective playstyle with Spain is to explore the world as soon and as broadly as possible,
00:54looking for new lands to settle in the remote corners and finding as many natural wonders as you can.
00:59You'll want to send ships and scouts out over the horizon as quickly as possible.
01:04Here we've got a game underway and we can show you some of the power of the Spanish Empire.
01:08Spain has two unique military units.
01:11The first is the Tercio which replaces the Musketmen.
01:14The Tercio has a higher combat strength and gets a substantial bonus against mounted forces.
01:18but it's also more expensive to build so don't plan to overwhelm your enemies with numbers.
01:23The Conquistador is Spain's replacement for the knight.
01:25This unit is a strong scout for exploring new lands
01:28and like all other mounted units it has excellent speed.
01:31But its cool power is that it can settle new cities on a different continent
01:35than the one where the capital resides.
01:37So if Spain is a broad and expansive empire
01:40then the Incan civilization is a neat contrast and we'll take a look at them now.
01:47Here's mighty Pachacuti, the earth shaker.
01:50The Incans are a civilization that excels at creating impenetrable mountain enclaves.
01:54The great Andean road ability lets their units ignore terrain costs
01:58when moving into any tile with a hill.
02:00Also they don't pay any maintenance costs for improvements in hills
02:03and their tile improvements elsewhere only cost half as much.
02:06Terrain that would stop other units or slow a city's growth to a crawl is nothing to the Inca.
02:13This is the kind of map where the Inca excel.
02:16One with lots of hills and mountains where a player can tuck up
02:18and uses unique units and unique tile improvement to his best ability.
02:22The Incan unique unit is the slinger
02:24and this replaces the ancient era archer.
02:26A strong early game range unit with fast movement on hills
02:29can be quite a headache for anyone who tries to take your cities without your permission.
02:33But you have to be careful.
02:34The slinger is even more fragile in melee than a normal archer.
02:37If enemies do close with it, it does have a promotion that gives it a chance to escape
02:41before the melee attack can occur, so you can run away and fight another day.
02:46The Incans also get a unique tile improvement, the terrace farm.
02:49A terrace farm yields a food just like a regular farm,
02:52but it also gets extra food from each nearby mountain tile.
02:55This means your farms built near mountains can be almost as productive
02:59as farms built on the most fertile river valley tiles in the game.
03:02Your cities will grow faster than any other civilizations would be able to in this kind of terrain.
03:07And if you tuck up a terrace farm surrounded by mountains,
03:09it can produce a really huge amount of food.
03:11And it looks very cool too.
03:14So you can see that between the mountains that protect us and give us food
03:17and our slinger unit to defend our borders,
03:19we're ready to build the Incan civilization as a citadel
03:22from where we can pursue our victory without being bothered by the rest of the world.
03:26These two civilizations and four civs from Civilization V
03:29come together in a special scenario with this DLC called Conquest of the New World.
03:34You'll be able to play as either a European or native power.
03:37The object of the scenario is to be the first civilization to score victory points
03:41by finding treasure and bringing it back to your capital.
03:44You'll be able to create treasure from raising the cities of your enemies
03:47or finding the legendary wonders of El Dorado and Potosi.
03:51Be careful though, scurvy will plague your ships until you build a navigational school,
03:55and once the piracy technology is discovered,
03:58then war is almost a certainty between the European powers.
04:01Native players will have to hold off against the onslaught of foreign invaders
04:04and the machinations of the other native civilizations too.
04:07And while all this goes on, time is ticking,
04:10you've only got 100 turns to win the scenario.
04:12Thanks for taking a look at the Spain and Inca DLC walkthrough
04:15for Sid Meier's Civilization V.
04:18Good luck leading these civilizations on an epic journey to stand the test of time.
04:26Good luck.
04:28Good luck.
04:39Grazie a tutti.
