00:15There's two aspects of that that I want to touch on

00:20Worry about strategy and you just want to see a bunch of cool shit

00:27Or if you want that tactical battle of back and forth
00:30There's a strategic reason for every attack in the game
00:35For every butt and press
00:36Like that's where the depth comes into the gameplay
00:38Of having a usage for everything
00:46Just the ability to now dodge more, block more
00:49Engage combat in a way that is much more visceral and more exciting
00:53And then combined with the dismemberment system
00:55It should be a lot easier for people to come in and play it for the first time
01:00One of the things we identified from Portal 1 that wasn't very fun
01:03Was fighting five guys at the same time
01:07It's fun to fight five guys
01:08But not if they're all hitting you at the same time
01:10So by having the command ability
01:11When you have those five guys on screen
01:13And they're going to attack you
01:15You can now hit the button and get a block
01:17Or hit the button and flip over the guy
01:19Things of that nature
01:20So it gives the player a lot more control
01:22To combat and into the battlefield
01:26Instead of reacting to getting hit
01:28The player can now react to the threat of danger
01:30And respond accordingly
01:34They're pulling off getting a controlled player experience
01:38Where the player can completely control the combat dynamics
01:42And not ever feel like it's unfair
01:46But maintain that sort of level of chaos and excitement
01:50And that we hit in Portal 1
02:00Each change is somewhat micro
02:02But the effect that it has on the overall game experience
02:05Is huge
02:06And I think that's getting me incredibly excited
02:09To see the results that the combat team are actually generating
02:11And to make the game feel so much more rewarding
