00:20All right, let's start talking about one of my favorite characters so far, Colonel Raddick.
00:24Not so great as the close range stuff, but a Dominator at a distance.
00:29We knew that Raddick in sort of the Killzone universe is known as kind of a close range melee fighter,
00:35and we did make sure to retain that element.
00:38From the Killzone franchise, it was an opportunity to introduce a very unique playstop in the PlayStation All-Stars,
00:43and that really manifests in his sniper rifle.
00:46Now let's talk about that sniper rifle in a little more detail there, because there's a couple tricks to using
00:49it.
00:50For instance, I know that you can buffer it in mid-air. You can get it going in mid-air,
00:52and the second he lands, bam!
00:53There is a bit of a long start-up on the sniper rifle, so it takes a while to get
00:57going,
00:58and one of the tricks that you'll see a lot of the more advanced Raddick players utilize
01:01is that you can start executing that move in air, sort of get the wind-up as it's occurring,
01:07as you're falling down, and then by the time you land, you'll get that shot off,
01:10and it's a way to mitigate some of that risk of the long wind-up of that attack
01:14instead of having to deal with that ult while you're on the ground.
01:16Another move I found myself using again and again when I had the opportunity was tapping triangle.
01:22He gives, like, a burst with an assault rifle.
01:24It doesn't generate a ton of AP. It doesn't have a ton of distance. It's pretty good at mid-range.
01:27But it's something that players have to pay attention to and deal with,
01:31and that also is something that, again, is centered to Raddick's balance.
01:33Now up close, though, he does have a couple of strong moves, particularly that hand shotgun he uses.
01:38He has a combo that uses that, and it's also really effective in mid-air.
01:42So his throw utilizes that shotgun really well.
01:46He sort of teleports behind an unsuspecting opponent and fires that shotgun behind him
01:50and sends the opponents flying, and, of course, that's all Raddick wants to do really
01:54is just get guys to the other side of the screen.
01:55He's got a pair of moves that complement each other perfectly, and they involve grenades.
02:00We actually did something really interesting with Raddick in that we gave his grenades two different properties.
02:04So the more long-distance grenade this is performed with Down Triangle, there's a little bit of a bounce on
02:09it,
02:10and I know a lot of sort of skillful first-person shooter players like to apply this strategy when they
02:13use grenades.
02:14You try to bounce it off the ground to give it a bit of additional range,
02:16and then when you do that, it explodes at a really nice, predictable spot.
02:20And so Raddick, it has exactly that kind of functionality.
02:29Now, of course, you know, PlayStation All-Stars, it's all about the supers,
02:32and Raddick's got some of the best I've seen yet, just again and again and again.
02:37Each of them more deadly than the one before it.
02:40So you get this target reticle that appears on screen,
02:42and if he can overlap that reticle on players, it'll lock on.
02:46Anywhere where that character moves, these three homing missiles will start flying towards that player.
02:51But let's talk about that level two.
02:53Yeah.
02:53It's very visually spectacular.
02:54It's the arc cannon, if I'm not mistaken, from Killzone 2 and Killzone 3.
02:58The best place to use that, or the best situation to use that in, are in spaces with a lot.
03:03Again, a wide horizontal space.
03:04You want to make sure that opponents don't have an easy vertical escape,
03:08so there's not a platform immediately above them.
03:10And if you can manage to fire it off at distance or even at range, it can be really effective.
03:15And that leads us to the level three, which is extremely potent.
03:19I mean, there's some really devastating level threes in this game,
03:22and I'd argue that Raddick is up there with the best of them.
03:25It's a really chaotic moment.
03:27So when it comes to Colonel Raddick, what kind of player is going to gravitate to him?
03:31If you're that guy who loves playing first-person shooters,
03:34immediately goes for the sniper rifle and sits on the hill
03:36and just rains chaos down on everyone else who's playing the game,
03:39I think Raddick's going to be the character for you.
