01:34Grazie a tutti.
01:37Grazie a tutti.
01:41Grazie a tutti.
01:51Grazie a tutti.
02:29Grazie a tutti.
02:42Grazie a tutti.
03:01Grazie a tutti.
03:13Grazie a tutti.
03:18Grazie a tutti.
03:48Grazie a tutti.
04:22Non-aggressive indigenous creatures, eh?
04:25Grazie a tutti.
04:27Grazie a tutti.
04:34Grazie a tutti.
05:04No, no, no.
05:05Take it, take it.
05:06Get yourself killed.
05:08Not for at least double, I mean.
05:11Done.
05:12What?
05:12Grazie a tutti.
05:31Grazie a tutti.
05:34200 credits say they eat his face.
05:37You want double?
05:38Don't quit your whining and earn it.
05:48And we are in the game.
05:51Yeah, so, uh, we're gonna start here, uh, in the hangar section.
05:54This is gonna kinda be your, uh, one of your core hub areas.
05:57And as we can see, uh, we're not due for another supply drop until late August.
06:01We're not due for another supply drop until late August.
06:01Do you got any idea the resource to master?
06:04And, um, this is an area where you can get rig upgrades, um, uh, which adds new functionality
06:11to your rig.
06:12And there's also a lot of, uh, conversations, um, that we can hear in the background that are
06:16going on.
06:17Uh, for the interest of time, we're gonna skip this, but, uh, you'll be able to eavesdrop
06:21in conversations, be able to talk to people in the hangar and, you know, get hints
06:24and clues and things like that.
06:25So, there's definitely, uh, you know, a sense of community, uh, and a sense of, um, you
06:30know, a lived-in feeling inside of the hangar.
06:39So we're gonna take this elevator up here into the main, uh, hangar area, uh, which is
06:44kind of the, uh, showcase for the base.
06:49And what we can see here, uh, the concept here is basically a, uh, it's a natural cave
06:54formation that the colonists have kind of, uh, uh, built their base into.
06:59Uh, we'll pop out our job log here.
07:01You can see that we have to go talk to Gail to prep the rig.
07:05If you go do that.
07:10Jim's heading out to let prep the rig people.
07:37Grazie a tutti!
07:43I know you're like, I'll show you that.
08:01Ah, I can take something I'm used to.
08:14So now you can see that we're in the rig, and now Gale's getting us some extra information.
08:20A couple of people may have picked up on the Gale character.
08:24It's actually the father of Wayne, who's the protagonist from LP1.
08:29So there's a lot of interesting connections between this and LP1,
08:33not necessarily directly because there's quite a few years in between,
08:36but there's a lot of cool hints back and forth.
08:41I do gather that in some ways this is sort of a return to form for Lost Planet,
08:47sort of returning to a lot of what we knew about the first game.
08:52Yeah, well, I mean, one of our core concepts was return to extreme conditions,
08:55which, you know, most people know the LP1.
08:58It was called Lost Planet Extreme Condition.
09:00It referred to, you know, the snow and the ice on the planet
09:02and the very promoting atmosphere, so we're trying to return to that.
09:04But it's also returned to, you know, sort of a more of a character-driven narrative.
09:10Yeah.
09:10You know, in LP2, we did a lot of co-op play,
09:12which was, I think, an interesting direction for the series to go.
09:15Yeah.
09:15In terms of, you know, spreading out to new horizons.
09:19But a lot of feedback we got was that people really wanted to feel like they were, you know,
09:23playing as somebody that they had a character that they could play to.
09:25Absolutely.
09:26That's one of the things that we're really going back to here.
09:28It doesn't mean we're not doing multiplayer. We are.
09:30We'll be talking about it more in the coming months.
09:33But we definitely have a good multiplayer suite.
09:36Yeah, but it does seem like the story is very well fleshed out here.
09:39The characters are instantly likable, and they feel like people you've met before.
09:46Yeah.
09:46We wanted Jim to feel like a guy that you could really relate to, that you wanted to root for.
09:50You know, you are him, but you're also kind of experiencing his journey along with him.
09:54Yeah.
09:55And that's something that we really felt was strong.
09:57Here we're seeing the rig has to break open these pistons.
10:02The rig that you're in, the utility rig, is not originally designed to be a weaponized unit.
10:06It's actually a construction vehicle that Jim uses to fulfill contracts on the planet.
10:10So we're actually, you know, kind of teaching the player how to use its functions for what they're originally intended
10:16for.
10:17Yeah.
10:17And then later on when you get out in the wilderness, you have to fight the A-Crid.
10:20The player actually has to figure out how to improvise to use those functions to defeat the enemy.
10:25Sort of pioneer times.
10:26Exactly.
10:27Is the utility rig supposed to be sort of a direct predecessor to the VSs, or is it just the
10:34idea that the world is full of this sort of robotic technology?
10:38No, you're exactly right.
10:40Basically, you know, this is a prequel.
10:42It takes place quite a bit before Lost Planet One.
10:44The idea being that these are sort of the first colonists, or so they're told, to ever come to the
10:50planet.
10:50So it's in very much its natural, rough state.
10:52It's very much a frontier kind of atmosphere.
10:56And we wanted the machines to reflect that.
10:59So it's the largest vehicle we've ever had in Lost Planet.
11:02And I'll pause for a second and let you see the message from Jim's wife.
11:06You want me to work, but it would be cute.
11:08Show it every once in a while.
11:12No, that's terrible.
11:14Hey, darling.
11:16I can't believe it's been six months already.
11:18I didn't think it would feel normal by now, but it doesn't.
11:21Especially not for Hank.
11:23He'll never fall asleep the way he did when you tuck him in.
11:27Turns out you have a magic touch.
11:30He's going to both of them.
11:35Speak of the devil.
11:36I gotta go, babe.
11:43So that was just a really way to keep Jim anchored in with his world.
11:48He is here to try to earn, you know, hazard pay by doing all these contracts to send back to
11:54his wife and child.
11:55And that's something that we're constantly fleshing out over the course of the game as you send letters to her
12:01and you get letters back from her video letters.
12:05Anyway, just to briefly finish up the point before.
12:07Yes, the utility rig is basically a predecessor.
12:09What we thought is, you know, technology tends to miniaturize over time.
12:13You know, you start out with a walkman, you end up with an iPod.
12:16So we thought, you know, the vital suits that were small and very maneuverable and heavily weaponized in the last
12:20planet 1 and 2, what would those look like in the past?
12:22And we decided that, you know, it would probably be a larger vehicle.
12:25Right.
12:26It also would probably not be a weaponized vehicle.
12:27It would have started with civilian use.
12:30Indeed.
12:34So we're going to get out of the rig here pretty soon.
12:37You will be able to get in and out of the rig just about anywhere you want.
12:39There's a few areas where they're either too dangerous or too confined to be able to get in and out.
12:47But for the most part, just about anywhere you can get out.
12:49We're going to go grab the part that Gale asked us to get earlier.
12:52When you give scrap to Gale, he uses a Duck Ranger rig.
12:55So this is a great way to kind of show an example of, it's not a fully fleshed out side
13:00mission.
13:00It's more just kind of a bonus little trinket.
13:04But you will have a lot of side missions on the game.
13:06You'll have different missions givers that will be viewing different type of missions beyond, you know, the before story missions.
13:12So this is a way for us to kind of illustrate that there are things off of the beaten path.
13:16And as you can see, we have a real-time dynamic weather system that changes the weather on the planet
13:20based on, you know, storm conditions and things like that.
13:22So even if you're traversing a certain area and you may have gone there and come back again, for instance,
13:27you'll be going to look very different because of the different weather conditions.
13:30Wow.
13:31They truly are extreme conditions.
13:34Yep.
13:34Which we will see even further as we proceed on here because we've got a storm brewing.
13:38And that's going to pose trouble for the rig if it gets too big.
13:44I do love how fast it is getting in and out of the rig.
13:48You know, it doesn't sort of bog you down.
13:51You can switch on the fly.
13:53Yeah, that's very important.
13:57So we can see we've had a major storm come through that's actually frozen over the rig.
14:02So now Jim's got to get out.
14:06This is actually something that will happen dynamically during gameplay depending on weather conditions.
14:25Here it's some similar acry creatures.
14:27This is a new one called the Pack Hunter.
14:36Put a little pressure on you.
14:38Yeah.
14:39This is something called struggle mode.
14:40The key here is it's not just a QTE.
14:42You don't just tap buttons.
14:42You actually have to aim that reticle.
14:44Yeah.
14:44And it fights because you're struggling, so the reticle actually fights against you.
14:48And that was really important for us because we wanted to always keep the element of aiming in the gameplay.
14:53So whether you're shooting or whether you're stabbing, you want to keep that aiming element in there.
14:57Well, I like it because it uses what you already know about how the game plays.
15:00It's not just this arbitrary thing that's thrown in.
15:02Exactly.
15:03It's like you're still aiming and attacking.
15:04And it's not one of those things where if I don't press a button in time, you know, I'm going
15:08to lose arbitrary.
15:09Right, right, right.
15:09It's skill-based, which we thought was important.
15:14Now you can see Jim is fighting the Pack Hunters here, and these are a new acry type for LP3.
15:21For some of the acry, we've gone away from the insect style to more mammalian style.
15:27So we've got a better balance now of some insect-based ones and some mammalian-based ones.
15:31Interesting.
15:32We just wanted to show kind of the ecosystem of the planet.
15:35The fact that, you know, there's a wide variety of different types of life forms on the planet.
15:39So these things hunt in packs, their AI will circle and wait for a chance to strike.
15:50I'm very happy to see the role is still in sort of an integral part of Lost Planet.
15:55The role is in, you know, we've made some tweaks to the controls to make it a little bit easier
15:59for people that are used to playing different types of shooters.
16:02The old Lost Planet games had some kind of unique control schemes.
16:05Yeah.
16:06We've kept a lot of the cool things in.
16:08You can even do the sort of floaty reticle from Lost Planet 1 if you want.
16:13That's an option.
16:15But we've also tried to streamline things a little bit to make it easier to pick up the play.
16:18So we're trying to find a good balance.
16:20Yeah.
16:22So I assume what he's picking up there is T-Energy?
16:25That's correct.
16:26What role does that play in this game?
16:28Is it similar to Past Lost Planet, where it's kind of like your health?
16:31It's a little different.
16:32You know, we really wanted to give the player the ability to, you know, not have to feel like they're
16:39constantly being pushed forward.
16:40Like, to give them the ability to explore.
16:42Mm-hmm.
16:43So it won't be used in that way.
16:45Before I continue there, I just want to note here that, you know, we just fought those pack hunters on
16:49foot.
16:50And one of the great things about the rig is it totally changes the paradigm.
16:55Yeah.
16:55So an enemy that was reasonably challenging on foot, what you get on the rig is now basically a piece
17:00of cake.
17:00And this is one of the fun things to do to turn the tables on your enemy.
17:06Safety clamps.
17:08That's a...
17:10Very satisfying.
17:13So, uh...
17:15LaRoche is coming on with a couple of hints.
17:26So, to finish answering your question real quick, the thermal energy that you gather, you can see this 199 here
17:31on the corner.
17:32Yep.
17:32That's actually your thermal energy count.
17:35Okay.
17:35Now, what happens is when you pick up thermal energy on foot and then come back into the rig, it
17:39deposits your thermal energy that Jim is carrying into the rig's tank.
17:42Uh-huh.
17:42When you then take that back to base, you can trade it for upgrades, weapons, ammunition, things like that.
17:48Very cool.
17:49So it's now part of the game's economy.
17:50And the idea for that in the fiction of the game is that it's kind of a gold-rushed atmosphere.
17:55Yeah.
17:55All the colonists are here to mine this resource.
17:57It's like, you know, black gold.
17:59An orange gold in this case.
18:01So, uh...
18:02That is a very valuable resource.
18:04By taking it back to base, you know, you can basically...
18:06You'll get paid to do missions, but you'll also get additional payment from having lots of thermal energy.
18:11And that's gonna be an important thing in the game, as we'll be talking about in the future.
18:17Right.
18:17That's very cool.
18:18You know, it's like...
18:19It's true, you know.
18:20The T-energy was already seen as like this, pardon the pun, hot commodity in the past games.
18:26But it was just kind of like a health thing or it powered some of your machinery.
18:29But it definitely makes sense that you'd be able to use it as a form of currency.
18:35So we're gonna grab the shotgun, which is always helpful to have.
19:00So this is an audio log, uh, and you can get these over the course of the game.
19:04And they basically flesh out the backstories of various characters and things like that.
19:07So it's another way to experience the world.
19:09Yeah.
19:10So Jim's now at the mission he was given, which is to plant his thermal, uh, data post here.
19:15And he's gonna do that, but, uh, he's gonna get interrupted in that process.
19:20Somebody's a little mad.
19:43If only you had that rig right about now.
19:45Yes, exactly.
19:47So Jim's now gonna have to, uh, fight this thing on foot.
19:50And, uh, just as in the previous games, the, uh, acrid, uh, cores, what we call cores, the
19:55weak spots, they glow orange, uh, to give you an idea of where each of the most of the students
19:59is, as you can see.
20:00Uh, this has got some on the joints here, and it's also got a big spot on the back.
20:04Uh, and so one of the things that you're gonna have to do in order to defeat this is figure
20:08out how to access that core.
20:11Yeah.
20:11That's a little trick.
20:11You can also throw a grenade in its mouth.
20:14Yeah.
20:14Now that's something that, uh, is actually something of a, uh, little trick the player
20:21would have to kind of figure out.
20:22But you can see here that once you've knocked that ice cap off the back, that you can then
20:28come through and, uh, you'll be able to hit that.
20:33There's such a great, satisfying punch to the shotgun blast in this game.
20:37Especially with the sort of T energy exploding out of their cores.
20:42Everything just feels really nice.
20:44Well, we like that.
20:44Thank you.
20:45Uh, right now he's using the pistol, which, uh, is your starting weapon.
20:48You always have it.
20:49It's a backup weapon.
20:50You can carry the pistol and two other weapons.
20:52Uh, and the pistol will never run out of ammo.
20:53So, uh, you're always guaranteed to have at least that.
20:56Cool.
21:10Oh, we're taking a couple of hits here.
21:16Got those nice blasts.
21:17Nice.
21:18Now what?
21:19Another grenade to the mouth.
21:20He's just asking for it.
21:24Well done.
21:25Probably close enough to finish him off.
21:28Now, Mad, who's playing here, of course, makes us look easy, but this is a boss encounter.
21:31So, uh, on average of play tests, we've got about two or three guests before you play for the first
21:37time.
21:38Yeah.
21:38And, uh, we want to make sure that, you know, Lost Gun is now for having big creatures.
21:42This is by no means the biggest in the game.
21:44Uh, but, uh, you know, we want to keep those kind of intense boss battles intact.
21:52So, uh, now we've actually, uh, are going to be able to go and complete our mission objective,
21:57which was to plant this thermal post, uh, to access this, uh, pocket of thermal energy.
22:14So, um, we've lost tons like this, but we've lost two minutes.
22:24Ah!
23:02Sì
23:57So now we're inside the abandoned base here
24:03and there's been a lot of comparisons with Dead Space and other games
24:07and the really important thing to mention here is for Lost Planet 3
24:12is that we see these sequences here as being kind of a change of pace
24:15Right
24:16Our game is very much about the vast landscapes and the balls to the wall
24:20kind of shooting and the rig experiences that we've already seen so far in the demo
24:24But personally as gamers, we ourselves like to have a lot of variety
24:28we like to have fast pacing followed by slow pacing
24:31some total action followed by more suspenseful type stuff
24:35So this is a way for us to kind of do that
24:40So personally I don't really classify this as a survival horror game
24:45Jim by the very nature of his environment has to survive
24:49Right
24:51But for him, survival is not enough
24:53He's got to carve out a niche for himself in Akane
24:57He's got to provide for his wife and child
24:59He's got to find out all these mysteries
25:01He's got to interact with other characters
25:02There's a whole cast of characters that all have their own backstories and everything
25:07So it's very much a cinematic style of game
25:10What these sequences really do is provide a counterpoint to that
25:14by giving you some of the mystery and giving you some of the suspense
25:19And it really is gorgeous
25:20It just feels very alive
25:24But I gather that you're not really going for all out scares necessarily
25:31You're just sort of creating a mood
25:35Yeah, this is another struggle mode here
25:37Like someone we saw earlier
25:38Yeah, it's not about all out scares
25:40It's about...
25:42Put yourself in Jim's shoes
25:45You're not only on a planet that's not earth
25:47That's unexplored
25:48You don't know what's around the next corner
25:50But you also have to figure out how to do your job and make it home alive
25:54So it's a very promoting atmosphere no matter where he goes
25:58But then finding these structures that aren't even supposed to exist
26:01That he's been lied to alone
26:03That causes a lot of trepidation
26:05And then we also
26:07Some people might notice all the animation sets are changed when you're inside
26:12He's much more methodical, he's not running flat out
26:15He even makes faces of kind of looking around at the environment
26:20The whole idea is to get you in Jim's shoes of
26:23I really don't want to be here, but I don't have a choice
26:25Yeah
26:31Things a man does for his family
26:33Exactly
26:37So I would say that these suspense sequences
26:40If you want to call them that probably take
26:42I'd say they're about 20% of the game total
26:45The rest are the exterior sequences, the exploration, the battles, and also the interaction in the bases with the other
26:53pair
26:56So Jim's gotta figure out how to get out of the base here
26:59And he's got a mission objective now to find the generator which has to shut down
27:05The generator's here, he's gotta find the shut down panel which is up there on that ledge
27:09Because the base is in lockdown
27:13There was an acre infestation here, who knows how long ago
27:19And whoever lived in this installation at that time basically barricaded himself into the acres to get out
27:28And that's why you've gotta shut down the generator to get out
28:00Huh
28:08Alright, now that we've turned off the generator, we're gonna go back out that door that we found earlier
28:19I guess it's another chance to show off combat with some of the leech enemies
28:23Now these things are pretty weak one-on-one, but when they surround you in packs they can actually be
28:28pretty overpowered
28:30Right
28:31They circle you, they've got jump attacks
28:34And when Jim's health gets low enough, they will pounce and they'll get that struggle mode
28:40The whole plan of the struggle mode is
28:43The enemies pounce on you when your health is low
28:45Oh, okay
28:46It's a way for you to fight back
28:47Right
28:48You also regenerate health more quickly if you're successful
28:51Oh, wow
28:52So it's a way to, you know, basically instead of killing the player and having him be low
28:56Sort of like your last stand, yeah
28:58That's really cool
29:12Nice dodge
29:14Yeah
29:15Haha
29:29Alright, so now we've found the exit here
29:35And I'll just talk over this one real quick, just to say that we've seen a couple of these little
29:41sequences and these are actually playing overloads
29:44Oh, okay
29:44So one of the things that, you know, we really strive for here is always keep the player and experience
29:49and always keep them rooted to Jim
29:50Yeah
29:51So even when you have hard loads from the area to area, which, you know, we just can't get around
29:55Right
29:56You know, these scenes, which, they don't give you any hints or, you know, they're not part of the story
30:02per se
30:02But what they do do is give you an insight into Jim's character and his relationship with his family and
30:06everything
30:06Right
30:07So we feel it's a great way to really show what Jim's all about
30:10Agreed
30:13Yeah, I think it's important to keep the player always there, you know, you don't want to
30:17I mean, you still have sort of that breathing room, because you're just watching him
30:20But, uh, it's not just like watching a blank screen and a load bar
30:25Exactly
30:27Alright, so we managed to make it back to our rig, but, uh, we've got some company
30:33Wow
30:39So this is going to give us a great, uh, great chance to turn the tables because this, uh, this
30:44crab boss that we fought earlier on
30:46Which is reasonably difficult, now we're going to be able to take it out much easier with the rig
30:50Uh, and then, uh, you know, this shows off how, like I mentioned earlier, you can use the rig's attachments
30:57to, uh, do this
30:59Nice
31:01We've got little tutorial segments in here just to kind of, this is for E3, of course, if you're going
31:05to show floor, we'll be able to know how to do things
31:12Mmmmm
31:12I'm going to dip that in some butter
31:13Haha
31:14Heat it up
31:15Nice
31:30Now, the great thing about this is, is we're going to defeat this using the rig, but you could also
31:33grab it, jump out, and shoot it if you wanted to while it was held down
31:36So, uh, the rig actually gives you a lot of variety
31:39Uh, in this case, we're just going to go right and straight into the kill using the drill
31:44That's so violent
31:45Haha
31:49But yeah, I do love how you can just jump in and out of the rig, you know, you can
31:53try it on foot, and then if, uh, the going gets tough, you can swing up into that rig and
31:57clamp it
31:58Haha
31:58Yup
32:00Bruce
32:08Oking the Kunkel, she crop it
32:10At the backoff

38:58ci sono una fondo di proprietà
38:59che temprمة

39:36melt different types of ice
39:38or use
39:40different methods to get to a higher
39:42area to access these new areas
39:45so when you get new story missions
39:46when you get new side missions you're going to constantly
39:48be unlocking new sections of the map
39:50but you can then go and come as you please
39:52so it's much more open and much more
39:55fluid and preform than previous
39:56last minute games
40:00that's very cool
40:00and also I think that sort of
40:02gives the player a greater sense of reward
40:04for their actions you know when they're constantly getting
40:07new skills and unlocking new
40:08areas
40:12somehow metroidian
40:13yes yes
40:14I mean hey who doesn't love
40:16that right
40:19I noticed some people
40:20asking about the grappling hook
40:22and we were talking about
40:24we were kind of talking over it in the demo
40:26but yes the grappling hook is in there you can use it
40:28in game it's in both the
40:30single player and multiplayer
40:32the way you use it is a little bit different than LP2
40:34because
40:36we didn't necessarily feel that having Jim
40:38be able to basically just
40:39you know bounce around
40:41and anywhere in the environment
40:42works with this presentation
40:44right
40:44but yes you will get to
40:46grappling hook earlier in the game
40:47and be able to use it
40:49so
40:50cool
40:52huh
40:53they say
40:55you're going to bump me up a little bit
40:57it should be two
40:59no it's one
41:04sorry about the sound guys
41:06sorry about the sound guys
41:23I feel like that was actually a bug
41:24I don't know
41:26you can grapple up and down
41:28so you can grapple up to ledges
41:29you can grapple down from ledges
41:31and so
41:33it replicates most of the functionality
41:35the main difference is
41:38the fact that you can't use it on any
41:39on any surface anywhere
41:41okay
41:42if you know
41:42if it's a flat surface
41:43you're not going to be able to do that
41:45like LP1
41:45if it's a very quick flat surface
41:49you're going to need sort of a horizontal platform
41:51to be able to
41:55that's it
41:57any question about multiple playthroughs
41:59if there's anything right
42:00second time
42:02any info on
42:03like a new game plus
42:05or like
42:06multiple playthroughs
42:08well I mean
42:09it is a pretty robust campaign
42:11and like I said
42:12there's a lot of side missions
42:13and there's a lot of hidden content
42:15that are based on
42:16you know
42:16having certain upgrades
42:17and there's collectibles
42:18and things like that
42:19so
42:20it's certainly possible
42:21to do everything
42:22in one playthrough
42:23I mean
42:23I personally am a completionist
42:25and I hate
42:25I only ever have time
42:26to play through a game once
42:27and I hate it when like
42:28you have to play through multiple times
42:29I'm the same way
42:30yeah
42:30but
42:31if you wanted to like
42:32basically get the story
42:33go through once
42:34complete it
42:34and then come back again
42:35and get the collectibles
42:36and maybe look for some areas
42:38that you might have missed
42:38you know
42:39that's certainly a possibility
42:40you would have to be
42:40you would have to be very thorough
42:41to get everything
42:42on the first playthrough
42:44and then of course
42:45there's a multiplayer
42:46to last you
42:47so I think
42:47I think we've got
42:48a pretty compelling package
42:49in terms of
42:50the amount of content
42:52excellent
42:53for people who are new
42:54to Lost Planet
42:56is it gonna
42:57sort of fill them in
42:58I mean obviously
42:59this takes place
43:00before the first two games
43:01so is it pretty easy
43:03to jump in
43:03even if you're new
43:04yes
43:05it doesn't require
43:06any past knowledge
43:08we've got a lot of
43:10you know
43:10hints
43:11and little connections
43:12to particularly LP1
43:13I already talked about
43:14Gale being in there
43:15Gale eventually grows up
43:17to Father Wayne
43:18who then gets frozen
43:19and then becomes
43:21the protagonist
43:22of LP1
43:23and so we kind of
43:24we kind of gave some hints
43:26to how that came about
43:27and then we also saw
43:29Jim planning
43:30his thermal post
43:31and when you're walking
43:32around in LP1
43:33and LP2
43:34the data posts
43:35are already there
43:36and you basically go
43:37and you
43:37you know
43:38you mash B
43:39or circle
43:39to open up
43:41the thermal post
43:43so the idea being
43:44is Jim and guys
43:45like Jim in the past
43:46were actually the ones
43:47who went and planted
43:47them in the first place
43:48and then the ones
43:49that you're activating
43:50in LP1 and LP2
43:51were actually the ones
43:51that were planted
43:52in the past
43:52so you know
43:53you don't have to
43:54know the previous games
43:55to be able to enjoy this
43:56you really can just jump in
43:57and it is chronologically
43:58the first one
43:59but the more you know
44:00the more little cool
44:01there's some little nods
44:02there for the fans
44:03of the previous games
44:04that's cool
44:07a little fan service
44:08for you
44:10um
44:12okay
44:18uh
44:19can you speak
44:20to the
44:20the length
44:21the general length
44:22of the game
44:23is that uh
44:24general length
44:25um
44:27let's just say
44:28people
44:28I don't think
44:29people will be
44:29disappointed
44:29it's definitely
44:31longer than
44:32either of the first
44:33two games
44:34in the single player
44:35wow
44:35I don't want to give
44:36I don't want to give
44:36an hour figure yet
44:37because we're still
44:38making it
44:39right
44:40but uh
44:41it's
44:41it'll definitely
44:42be meatier
44:42than the first
44:43two LP games
44:44excellent
44:48someone asking
44:49someone asking about
44:49the set pieces
44:50uh
44:50we've already seen
44:51quite a few
44:52it seems like
44:52uh
44:52that's definitely
44:53something that
44:54this has an abundance
44:55of
44:55especially compared
44:56to the previous
44:57LP games
44:58just
44:59yeah
44:59I mean
45:00in my mind
45:01there's two types
45:02of set piece moments
45:03there's the fully
45:03scripted
45:04basically
45:05you know
45:07Call of Duty style
45:08you know
45:09you're sort of a
45:10observer in the
45:11preceding style
45:12and then there's
45:13the actual
45:13interactive one
45:14yeah
45:14we have a couple
45:15of the
45:15of the former
45:16most of them
45:17take place
45:17either in cutscenes
45:18or in a similar
45:19type of scenario
45:20but then
45:21you know
45:21the ice crab
45:21fight we had
45:22here
45:22you know
45:23a lot of the
45:23rig elements
45:25to me feel
45:26like set piece
45:26moments that are
45:27happening in game
45:28yeah
45:28um
45:29when you
45:29when you know
45:30when you're
45:30going in there
45:31and the ice crab
45:31comps up
45:32and you have to
45:32fight it
45:32to me
45:33that's
45:33that's a cool
45:34scenario
45:34it's a cool
45:35environment
45:35it's a cool
45:35enemy to fight
45:36um
45:38unfortunately
45:38not a lot
45:38I can talk
45:39about right now
45:39but there'll be
45:40elements in the
45:40game where in game
45:41you'll press to
45:42ridge and see
45:43something
45:43or you'll
45:44complete a mission
45:45and something
45:46will happen in game
45:47and you'll look at
45:47that and you'll be
45:48like wow
45:48I mean that's
45:49yeah
45:49it's an amazing
45:50moment that you're
45:51experiencing as part
45:52of Jim's
45:53well yeah
45:54I mean from what
45:55we see in the demo
45:55it's almost every
45:56single moment
45:57there's something
45:57amazing to look at
45:58you know
45:59especially with
45:59this sort of
46:00dynamic weather
46:01system
46:01and just even
46:02that starting hub
46:04where you begin
46:04the whole demo
46:05like it's
46:06everything looks
46:08it just has this
46:08great you know
46:09design balance to it
46:11you know it feels
46:11like a lived in
46:12place
46:12right
46:13well it's really
46:14important for us
46:14to keep the themes
46:15of exploration
46:16and you know
46:17and sort of
46:18struggle if you will
46:19and having to
46:20eke out an existence
46:22and so we have a lot
46:23of cool cut scenes
46:24there's a lot of
46:25cool interaction
46:25with characters
46:26and dialogue
46:26and things like that
46:27but when you're
46:27actually out in
46:28the wilderness
46:29we didn't want
46:29to funnel you
46:30down this like
46:30extremely linear
46:31path at all times
46:32right
46:32so that was
46:33that was one of
46:34the key design
46:35decisions that went
46:35into the game
46:44any character
46:47customization
46:48character customization
46:50that will be part
46:51of the discussion
46:51we'll have for
46:52multiplayer
46:53okay
46:55but for single
46:56player I mean
46:57it's very much
46:57jib's story
46:58so you're going
46:58to be playing
46:59as jib
46:59he has
47:01he'll look a bit
47:02different as the
47:03game goes on
47:03but you're basically
47:05playing as jib
47:06for multiplayer
47:06you'll have some
47:07options
47:08I should probably
47:10break it to LP2
47:11fans by saying
47:12you're not going
47:12to have the
47:13ridiculous amount
47:14of pure customization
47:16no serve bot head
47:18I mean one of the
47:19big things of LP2
47:20was just sheer
47:21amount of content
47:22right
47:22for us because
47:24we have such a
47:25robust single
47:27player experience
47:27and because
47:28multiplayer is
47:29definitely an equal
47:31component to that
47:33we can't blow it
47:35out and go
47:36balls to the wall
47:36like LP2 did
47:37with it that much
47:37but I think
47:38you'll find a lot
47:39of cool things
47:40both from
47:41inside of LP3
47:43but also
47:43you know
47:44throughout the LP
47:44universe of being
47:45able to have
47:47some interesting
47:47nods in multiplayer
47:48and I've already
47:49probably said too much
47:52cut it
47:55the gun blade
48:03one more cue
48:04you guys
48:06we've got time
48:07we've got time for
48:07about one more
48:12weapons are
48:14very important
48:15obviously
48:15and we have
48:17many weapons
48:17that are in
48:19that Jim can
48:20so there are
48:21there are
48:23single player
48:24unique weapons
48:25there are multiplayer
48:25unique weapons
48:26and there's some
48:26that are shared
48:27with both
48:27we have a big
48:28arsenal
48:29what you saw
48:30in the demo
48:31which was
48:31the pistol
48:32which you start
48:33with
48:33the assault
48:34rifle
48:34and the shotgun
48:35the assault
48:35rifle and the shotgun
48:36both have to buy
48:37you do that by
48:38getting thermal energy
48:39and then actually
48:40here at E3
48:42you'll see it in the
48:42coverage
48:43from the press
48:44later
48:46from the show
48:47we're actually
48:47showing a new weapon
48:48which is a hunting
48:48rifle
48:49which is a
48:50single shot
48:51weapon
48:52that's basically
48:53a bolt action
48:53very powerful
48:54weapon
48:55and that's
48:56that's just
48:56that's just
48:57a sampling
48:58so there'll be
48:59a lot of
49:00weapons there
49:00and we've tried
49:02to not make
49:04direct connections
49:05but sort of
49:06hint at
49:07how those weapons
49:08might have evolved
49:09but what you'll see
49:10with the
49:10Elastic Planet 3
49:11weapons
49:12is because
49:12it is a
49:13prequel
49:14that they're much
49:15closer to
49:1624th century weapons
49:17than they are to
49:18LP2 weapons
49:19these are pioneer times
49:20exactly
49:21so a lot more
49:22actual shells
49:23gun power
49:24right
49:24right
49:24right
49:26very cool
49:27well I definitely
49:28look forward to
49:28seeing more
49:29and thank you guys
49:30so much for being
49:31here today
49:31looks great
49:32I will be
49:33showing this off
49:35again later
49:36in the stream
49:37actually on Thursday
49:37so stay tuned
49:40guys or tell your
49:41friends if they
49:41missed this stream
49:43and yeah
49:44stay tuned for more
49:44info in the coming
49:45months
49:47thanks so much
49:48thanks so much
49:48thank you
