00:24but as a fan of XCOM, a fan of Julian Golop.
00:27I've never made a game quite like it,
00:29but I've always wished I could.
00:32It's 20 years old now,
00:34and it's something I still think about and play to this day.
00:39In all my years of designing video games,
00:42there is one game that stands out with unrealized potential.
00:45That game is called Chaos, originally published in 1985.
00:53Now I want to bring you a new game called Chaos Reborn,
00:56based on that cult classic,
00:58and it's a strategy RPG game for PC, Mac, and Linux.
01:05And when I found out he was doing another strategy game,
01:09Chaos Reborn,
01:10I got personally very excited about it,
01:13because I haven't been able to play a new Julian Golop game in a while.
01:20Chaos Reborn is a quick-playing turn-based game,
01:22with nail-biting decisions and changes of fortune from one turn to the next.
01:26In the game, you play the role of a wizard,
01:28armed with just a small selection of spells in a confined arena.
01:34And with that, you have to remain as the last wizard standing.
01:40Many of the spells in the game are creature-summoning spells,
01:42and each creature has unique qualities and attributes.
01:45The giant with this huge rock on his shoulder,
01:48the tiny dwarf but stubborn and resistant,
01:50or the flying chaotic beast, the manticore with the sting in his tail.
01:55Other spells in the game include magic missiles and magic attacks,
01:59which have immediate effect.
02:03And then there are weird and wonderful spells,
02:05such as the fantastic gooey blob,
02:07that spreads across the map, engulfing enemies.
02:11But Chaos Reborn is much more than just an arena game.
02:14There's a whole strategy RPG behind it.
02:17You can explore the realms of chaos,
02:20fighting enemy wizards,
02:21acquiring spells and equipment and magic items and treasures along the way.
02:25You can fight in co-op mode with friends.
02:28You can trade items of equipment and your spells.
02:30Or you can join a guild and gain guild rankings.
02:35I have been working on Chaos Reborn for the past year,
02:39building my team and making a playable prototype of the game.
02:42Now, I want your help to put my small but talented team to work full-time
02:47and bring you Chaos Reborn within the year.
02:51This is the sequel that Chaos players have been waiting for for 30 years.
02:56I think that this is a really great opportunity,
02:59both as a gamer and a lover of games.
