00:03Hi, I'm Flavio from Untold Games and I'd like to tell you a bit more about the Loading Human experience.
00:12Loading Human is a virtual reality adventure where you basically can take almost everything
00:18and interact with objects using your own hands.
00:21It's not like a normal adventure where the interactions are played in third person
00:26and all the puzzles, objects are directly viewable, are forced or are limited.
00:32In Loading Human you are in a space where you can take every bottle, every glass and every book
00:39and you don't actually know which one is the right glass or the right bottle or the right book.
00:45And each time you take an object you will hear clues, characters' secrets or Prometheus' thoughts.
00:55and you will learn about original point of views.
01:00This freedom is one of the biggest strengths of Loading Human.
01:04But this freedom requires a lot of time and a lot of assets.
01:09As you can imagine the work behind this kind of gameplay is huge.
01:13And look at that, this is us, Untold Games.
01:16We are a small development studio with a lot of passion.
01:19Now look around you. Look at your desk and you'll see that in the room you are there are a
01:26lot of objects.
01:27And this is just a single room.
01:30Now think of a simple bookshelf.
01:32In Loading Human the bookshelf is composed by at least 30 books and the shelves.
01:38And each book is takeable. And each book is different from the others.
01:42It has its own cover, its own back and front.
01:47And you'll be able to open some of them and read some pages.
01:51And there will be no pop-up, no interface.
01:54You literally read the pages by putting the book in front of your eyes.
02:00And not only this, but the complex interaction you'll be able to do with your hands require a huge work
02:07of coding.
02:07We have to program every interaction.
02:11And there are normal interactions and complex interactions, spline interactions.
02:16And even look at the character's hand when he takes an object.
02:20It adapts to it.
02:21And every object requires a tailored hand grip to be realistic.
02:26And remember that all the interactions are not done by pressing a button that triggers an animation.
02:32No, no, you are actually using your own hands and movement.
02:36And you'll be able to pass the object from your left hand to your right one.
02:40Or break the object or throw them under the water, etc.
02:44Whatever you want.
02:46So that's why Loading Human is much more complicated to do than a normal adventure.
02:51Now, apply this technique, not to a single room, but to a full scientific base in the North Pole.
02:59And others place too.
03:01And you'll start to visualize the amount of work and the potential behind this kind of gameplay in an adventure.
03:08Enjoy some free roaming footage from our brand new Unreal 4 engine.
03:13Thank you very much for listening.
03:16Thank you very much for listening.
03:44All right.
03:46And I am a friend of mine.
04:03Grazie a tutti.
04:24Grazie a tutti.
