02:47Yeah, a bunch of people got mohawks and other crazy configurations.

02:50And they had, like, the little spray stencils, and people were coming in and getting little
02:55stencils sprayed in the side of their head.

02:57Yeah.
02:57But I got shaved, but, you know, it grew back real quick.

03:03That was pretty crazy.
03:04You looked nervous.
03:05No, I wasn't, dude.
03:06Everybody kept saying, you know, you're going to be nervous?
03:08I'm like, no, dude, just, you know, as long as you don't slice my throat, I'm good.

03:12So the haircut event happened.
03:13Everybody went and had fun.
03:14That was during Comic-Con, so there were some extra people downtown for it.
03:17Yeah, Comic-Con was pretty sweet.
03:18And then the next day, continuing the train of amazing community-related events that we
03:24were doing, we had anybody who was in San Diego for Comic-Con and felt like making the
03:28trek up here to the offices, were able to be 100 feet away from where we're filming right
03:32now, playing Planetside 2.
03:35And we had a couple hundred people show up.
03:37A couple hundred people showed up, just out of the blue.
03:39We have some interview footage with some of those dudes, too.

04:16That event went off pretty flawless.
04:19It was so awesome getting people who actually knew Planetside and played Planetside coming
04:23in here and getting to play the game.
04:24That was really the first time we had a whole bunch of people who were Planetside players
04:27who came specifically to play it.
04:28But now we've got even more people in the game and playing right now.
04:31Yeah.
04:31We started the technical test, which is our way of trying to figure out whether, you
04:36know, things are actually working.
04:37You know, we've got a bunch of like a checklist of things that we need to go through to make
04:41sure the game is actually going through the paces.
04:44We've gotten to the point where we've had a couple thousand people already have been
04:46invited.
04:47I think we're up to maybe four or five thousand people have gotten invites as of today.
04:50Yeah.
04:51And the server's like doing great.
04:53I mean, I think people are steady.
04:54Yeah.
04:55It's awesome.
04:56People are in.
04:56They're having a good time.
04:57We're definitely finding issues and fixing issues as we get to them.
05:00But then we're going to be ramping it up as we go along.
05:02And once we get to that point, we'll be full on beta.
05:07We've got the Light Assault.
05:08We're going to do a little bit of, give you a little bit of information on Light Assault
05:11and what he can do.
05:12Kind of wet your whistle a bit before you actually can get in and try him out yourself.

06:07It's all about being able to get behind enemy lines, getting in where people can't find you.
06:11It's about blasting cats full on, taking a lot of damage, dealing a lot of dirt.

06:17Just like get in there and just wrecking stuff, you know?
06:20You can wreck stuff with the Light Assault, man.
06:21He's got C4 he can place.
06:23He's got his jump jets.
06:24He can jump up on the wall and throw C4 down.
06:26I mean, he's wrecking all kinds of stuff.

06:44You know, every once in a while, sneaking around, infiltrator style, but it's nothing better

07:01Hama runs basically the biggest Planetside fan site in the universe.

07:11So he was here for our community event, and we got a chance to talk to him really quick,

07:15We're here with Planetside celebrity and site admin from Planetside Universe, Sterling
07:21Hammer, a.k.a. Hama, and he's here to answer some questions.

07:27What from the original Planetside made you decide that you were going to start to site
07:32and you were going to make this a big part of your life?
07:35So I started, I think, about a year before release.
07:39We heard about, in my outfit, heard about the game called Planetside at the time.
07:43And, you know, Planetside was something that we were very interested in because of the scale
07:48of combat.
07:49And so it was kind of a, it was kind of my outfit being really interested in it and the
07:54fact
07:55that I have done some fan sites in the past.
07:57That was 10 years ago this October, actually.
08:01That's amazing.
08:02During SOE Live.
08:03Wow.
08:03So hopefully I'll be able to be there as well.
08:05So, Planetside 2, you just got a chance to play for a couple hours just now.
08:10What do you think?
08:11Yeah, I think the thing that strikes me the most is how much time has been spent on kind
08:15of the gunplay.
08:15You can really feel that that mechanic has, you guys have spent a lot of time on it.
08:20You know, it feels pretty modern.
08:22What thing are you most looking forward to in Planetside 2 or what piece of the game
08:26are you most looking forward to being able to play or share with other folks?
08:28Looking forward to most of all is having lots of people in there.
08:32Yeah.
08:32Me too.
08:33Yeah, and getting in there with my outfit and just starting to do some things to kind
08:37of change the course of battle.
08:39You know, that was kind of our thing.
08:41And Planetside 1, we would jump in and we would just kind of do something here or there
08:44just to kind of mess with the main, you know, the main battle lines.
