00:11I'm Jake Solomon, lead designer of XCOM Enemy Unknown, and we have something very exciting
00:17that the boys and girls back in the labs have cooked up for us.
00:20This is my iPad, this is my iPhone, and they are both running XCOM Enemy Unknown.
00:26That's the full game, all the tactical, strategic gameplay that you have experienced on the
00:32PC, and the consoles has now been optimized for iOS devices.
00:36So let's jump in and take a look.
00:38Now here we are in the XCOM base, a familiar sight to those of you who know the game, and
00:45as we already have an alien contact, let's go right into Mission Control.
00:53Now Mission Control is where we monitor the status of the alien invasion, and since we
00:58already have a couple of missions going, let's jump forward to one of those in progress so
01:02I can show you how combat works.
01:04So here it is, XCOM Combat running on an iOS device, and since it's my turn, I'm going
01:09to take my soldier here and move her into the perfect tactical position, and it looks like
01:19we have a sectoid in our sights, so we're going to go ahead and line that shot up.
01:27Oh, great shooting, soldier.
01:30Now we want to move our other soldiers up, not you.
01:34There we go.
01:35Let's get a better camera angle for this move.
01:38Perfect.
01:39I'm going to move her into the right position.
01:46Oh, and it looks like we had a sectoid hiding out there taking an overwatch shot at us.
01:54But looks like we've survived.
01:58As you can see, all the tactical controls and the gameplay is still there.
02:02It's just been optimized for a touch interface, which makes it easy, frankly, to jump into
02:06the game, learn the mechanics, and move on to the important part, which is killing aliens
02:10and saving the world.
02:12The most amazing thing about this is that you no longer have to be in front of your PC
02:17or your TV to play XCOM.
02:20Very soon, you're going to be able to play XCOM Enemy Unknown anywhere.
02:24Now, we are going to be hard at work on this over the next few months, so stay tuned for
02:28news and announcements.
02:30Good luck, Commander.
02:30We'll be watching.
