00:10Il pick up game, who would I pick up?
00:12What five guys would I pick up to make sure I hold on to the basketball?
00:16Scottie Pippen, for sure.
00:17Magic Johnson, James Worthy, and Akeem Olajuwon.
00:21I got no chance of losing, none at all.
00:24Olajuwon, he was in the top ten in five categories.
00:28Steals, rebounds, block shots, scoring, and shooting percentage.
00:33You know what I mean, to have a big guy of his size to be in the top ten in
00:36steals.
00:37Now, you can assume that he would be in blocks, which to me shows the versatility of what type of
00:41guy he really was.
00:44My favorites.
00:45You know, that's hard, you know, because, you know, it's like saying, which one of your kids do you like
00:48the most?
00:50Eleven's are my favorite, threes are my next favorite, and probably twelve or thirteen comes in third.
00:55I always wore a brand new pair of shoes every game.
00:59So you figured at the beginning of the season, or at the end of the season, I'd gone through almost
01:03150 pairs of shoes.
01:05And the reason I chose to do that is because if you ever were the kid, and you ever put
01:11those shoes on for the first time,
01:12it's like you feel energetic.
01:14You feel like you've got something that you can actually showcase.
01:17Well, I wanted that feeling every game.
01:20My most memorable dunk that I think about very, very often is the Patrick Young dunk.
01:26And that's only because Patrick and I are such great friends.
01:29And Oakley was a part of that whole process because he thought he could defend.
01:34And it was one that I, we got into a screener role and then I spent back, and Patrick was,
01:39I told him Georgetown guys don't block shots,
01:41all they do is take charges.
01:43And I dunked it so hard on him, it was unbelievable.
01:46And every time I see him, that's the first thing I remind him of.
01:50And, you know, a couple other ones would probably be Mutombo with the finger swing.
01:54He knew it was coming, he did it to everybody, you know, he did it in everybody's building.
01:58I think me and Scottie got him back to back. Scottie got him first and then I got him.
02:03And he couldn't answer, he couldn't say anything, but he's blocked so many shots.
02:07So, I mean, if you're a shot blocker, you know, that doesn't bother you.
02:11Just wait for the next opportunity, which I'm pretty sure he got me back at some point in time.
02:15But to be able to do that to him, that was gratifying.
02:21Probably the guy from the fifth championship because he was a little bit more knowledgeable,
02:25he was a little bit more craftier.
02:2692 was strictly off of adrenaline, you know, athleticism, smart, good team, you know, hungry.
02:35But in 95, it was like I knew, I knew what I was capable of doing.
02:39I knew how to get from one point to the next.
02:42I did it from a strategic standpoint as opposed to from an athletic standpoint.
02:48The significance of 23.
02:49Well, in high school when I played with my brother, my favorite number was 45.
02:54And his favorite number was 45.
02:56But we were on the same team.
02:58So he had seniority, he had the option to wear 45.
03:02So I just figured 23 was half of 45, 22 and a half.
03:06So I grabbed 23 and 23 is kind of stuck with me the whole time.
03:10I went back to 45.
03:11Obviously, I was just coming back from retirement.
03:15My father just passed.
03:16He never actually, I've never won any other number other than 23 in front of him in the NBA.
03:22So I kind of felt like I wanted to start off fresh, you know, it's a new start.
03:25So I went back to my old number, which is 45.
03:28And for whatever reason, that didn't click in terms of luck or just the way I felt.
03:34The number 12 jersey happened in Orlando.
03:37I was going out for my normal pregame activity.
03:41And then when I get to my locker to put on my uniform, my uniform has been stolen.
03:45So everyone was trying to go into the stands to try to find my jersey,
03:50replica jersey that everybody was wearing coming to the games.
03:54None of them fit, obviously.
03:55So I ended up wearing number 12 for that one particular game.
03:58I actually played pretty good that game, if I remember correctly.
04:00with my record as you were.
