00:00Hello Greenlight!
00:01As promised, we are now going to show you some actual gameplay of Eder.
00:05This first video is meant to give you the basic idea of what this game is all about.
00:10We will dive into specific details of some of the game's aspects in the next videos,
00:14but for now let's see how it looks, how it's basically played and what you might expect
00:18from our game in general.
00:21E-Masters of the Broken World is a game that combines turn-based strategy, global strategy,
00:26role-playing and some unique mechanics of its own.
00:29So first, I'll give a little background on the game's story.
00:32You are playing as a demigod, one of the masters, who is challenging his other competitors for power
00:37over the universe.
00:38The game world is filled with countless shards that appeared after the magical cataclysm.
00:42The winner becomes the master who will unite all the shards under his power.
00:48The gameplay in Eder consists of three basic layers.
00:51The first one that you can see now is the Astral, where the majority of plot is taking place.
00:55Here we talk with other masters, our competitors, where we plan our conquests and decide which
01:01shard to attack next.
01:03We also see which technologies will become available if we choose to attack any shard.
01:08In Eder, there is no trade-searching of technology, like what you see in many strategy games.
01:13We have to fight for every new one.
01:16Once we choose the shard we want to attack, we then appear on the strategic map of it.
01:22Here, our main goal is to capture the enemy capital, and not let ours be captured.
01:27The strategic map is divided into many provinces, which may remind you of Total War series.
01:33And every one of these provinces is a state inside of the state.
01:37It has its own population, unique races, and terrain types.
01:41That's why every time we try to capture a new province, or to manage the ones we already have,
01:45we need to consider many factors in order to succeed in the game.
01:49We will also have to make important decisions during various random events.
01:53There is a Karma system that traces all the decisions a player makes during the campaign.
01:59All the good, evil, and neutral actions influence both the plot development,
02:03and which of the dozen endings players will see.
02:06This is the game's city screen.
02:08Here, we will hire heroes and units for our armies, develop our capital and our economy,
02:13and construct new buildings that will let us use more powerful units.
02:17Everything you build will be displayed here.
02:20We will cheat and show you how the fully built city looks.
02:27When our army meets an enemy army on the strategic map,
02:30we enter the tactical map where both of these armies fight each other.
02:34Usually, any conflict in the game can be resolved in a peaceful way,
02:37but we will get into fight to show you how it looks.
02:40The tactical map consists of hexagons.
02:42We are not fond of any simplification in tactics,
02:45so that's why we decided to go with these hexes,
02:47as they let us create the largest tactical variety.
02:50In addition, every hexagon has its own unique terrain type,
02:53which is also important to consider during a fight.
02:55Armies have four main parameters.
02:57Movement points, health points, stamina, and morale.
03:00Stamina is spent on any actions, especially when you have to pass hills and swamps.
03:05Exhausted enemy won't be able to attack, move, and even defend.
03:09And an army with a low morale will start panicking and running around on the battlefield.
03:13Every unit in your army is a single one.
03:16Every unit can be upgraded, has its own upgrade tree, can get rewards and perks.
03:21So low-level veteran units have a good chance to beat high-level rookies.
03:25Your hero is also partaking in battles.
03:28Besides that, players will also have a large variety of spells that can be used on the tactical map.
03:34So this pretty much covers the gameplay basics.
03:37We'll be showing you how specific part of the game function in the future.
03:40And for now, thanks for watching.
