00:36I'm the managing director and one of the co-founders of Limbic Entertainment.
00:41My name is Julien Pirou.
00:42I am the creative designer and writer for Might & Magic 10 Legacy.
00:45I have been a fan of Might & Magic for a long, long time.
00:48I started with Might & Magic 2 on the Sega Genesis Mega Drive in Europe in the early 90s.
00:54I started doing pitches, story pitches, gameplay proposals,
00:58trying to sell this project internally.
01:02And after a few iterations,
01:04Might & Magic 10 Legacy, the project was started.
01:07Personally, I'm a huge, for a very long time, a huge fan of RPGs myself.
01:13So when we started working together with Ubisoft on various projects,
01:18we were always hoping to, one day we get the opportunity to work on such a project like Might &
01:24Magic 10 Legacy.
01:27The main idea or the spirit of the open development is to share more information,
01:35to be more transparent with fans.
01:38We are looking at what our other teams are doing, especially indie developers.
01:42And we figured out, wow, there is a really, really close relationship between communities,
01:46the developers, actually the real team members.
01:49And we found this very, very interesting and I think it's a great approach.
01:54Basically, the open development is mostly done through an open development blog,
02:00on which we discuss various topics.
02:03And there are also votes, for which we are asking the opinion of the community.
02:09And there is also the early access version of the game.
02:12We really wanted to make sure the players would be able to play a slice of the game.
02:18We learned a lot from this. We learned a lot from the players.
02:21They told us, okay, they want their choices. They want to interact with environment.
02:25They want to find these secret hidden places.
02:28They want to figure out, okay, there might be a side quest and so on and so on.
02:32So it really helped us to stay focused and deliver, yes, this open world might and magic feeling.
02:40Yes, that's it basically.
02:42The Night and Death cycle played quite a role in that as well.
02:45Yes, exactly. The fans told us, this is way too fast, change it.
02:49That's just not going to work. And so we did.
02:51So we applied a new timing concept in-game and yeah, that's it now.
02:56So overall, we are very, very happy.
02:59And I think it's a good opportunity today to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed
03:03and shared his opinion and even critics, everything is welcome.
03:07Basically, on a top level, OpenDev is now coming to an end.
03:10And we are more focusing on the current state of development.
03:16We wanted to offer a physical box for fans of the series.
03:21We want to have all their Might and Magic titles on the shelf.
03:24I know I do.
03:25We actually had the fans vote on the OpenDev block
03:28for their preferred design for the box.
03:30And they chose the green design that you can see here.
03:33And it's really filled with all kind of cool stuff.
03:36Like in the good old days, you have a cloth map of the world you're going to explore.
03:40So if you played RPGs in the 80s and early 90s, you know what this is.
03:44You have the game on a disc, obviously.
03:46You have the soundtrack CD.
03:48You have some nice lithographs of artwork from the game.
03:52Full version of Might and Magic 6, the Mandate of Heaven.
03:55An exclusive dungeon called the Dream Shard.
03:58And the DLC of the game when it's released.
04:00This box will be available in retail in many, many countries.
04:05But you'll have to check the list of countries on the website.
04:08So Might and Magic 10 Legacy will be released officially on the 23rd of January 2014.
