01:34Favored daughter of Zeus, wise as ten thousand scholars
01:39Just as the scales themselves
01:41Athena is a paragon of incorruptible virtue
01:45And worshipped with righteous fervor
01:47So revered is she that Athens, greatest city in all the world
01:52Is named for her
01:55And regal temples adorn the countryside in her honor
01:59Each tended by loyal priestesses
02:01To Athena, a life is a precious thing
02:05That need not be wasted in frivolous battle
02:08Bloodthirsty Ares, on the other hand
02:11Is reviled by their father
02:13And chained by his ravenous subjects
02:16In times of war
02:17Prayers are sent to both gods
02:20Ares, for bloodstained victory
02:23Athena, for honor, valor
02:25And the wisdom to fight with dignity

03:01Athena's next basic attack is a ranged attack
03:05Hitting all enemies it passes through
03:08Her first ability is called Preemptive Strike
03:11Athena powers up for a dash
03:14While dashing, she will stop and hit the first enemy god she encounters
03:19Dealing damage and slowing them
03:21Athena also gains one stack of block
03:24Absorbing the next basic attack from any god that hits her
03:30Her second ability is called Confound
03:33Athena releases a shockwave of power from her shield
03:37Damaging enemies directly in front of her and taunting them
03:42Athena's third ability is called Shield Wall
03:46Athena summons a formation of warriors who do damage upon arrival
03:51And after a short duration strike for additional damage
03:56Athena's ultimate is called Defender of Olympus
04:00Athena picks a single allied god and launches herself up into the air
04:06Landing next to them while dealing damage and mitigating the percent of damage taken by the allied god
04:18In this first fight, Athena comes out of the jungle as the enemy initiates a fight
04:23She uses Shield Wall and then Confound to land double hits on Odin and Bokasura
04:29She follows that up with Preemptive Strike to get the first kill
04:33As the fight goes on, she uses Defender of Olympus to protect Mirjah
04:38And crashes down on Odin, picking up the double kill
04:44In this situation, Athena uses Defender of Olympus on Amir
04:48Using Confound and Shield Wall on Aphrodite and Bokasura for the first kill
04:53And threading the needle with a Preemptive Strike for the double kill
04:57She continues to press the fight beyond the tower
05:01Staying just outside the tower range and using a Shield Wall to keep Odin away
05:06One last Preemptive Strike on Odin prevents him from escaping
05:11As Shiblanke comes in for the last kill
05:17Finally, Athena drops into a team fight at the Fire Giants
05:21She uses Confound to taunt and then a Shield Wall to kill Odin
05:26Chasing the enemy into the Fire Giant to keep them trapped
05:29She steps back out to use Girdle of Might on her allies
05:34And assists in killing Aphrodite
05:36She turns back to Ra all alone in the Fire Giant room
05:40And they find the villain ready to be cooked
05:50As the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena relies on strategic maneuvering to aid her allies
05:55Starting off with Preemptive Strike is a good idea for its escape and initiation capabilities
06:02As well as its damage potential
06:05Additionally, the stacks of block can help Athena maintain the lane longer
06:10Next, picking up Confound can help deliver additional damage as well as get enemies off your lane partner
06:18After that, the priorities shift to Defender of Olympus, Confound, Shield Wall, Preemptive Strike
06:31Also introduced in this patch are brand new voice packs
06:52The mighty god of the oceans returns with the lustrous new golden skin
06:59As a reminder, Smite's settings panel has gone through a complete UI overhaul
