00:30Sword and Soldiers 2 is our 2D side-scrolling take on the real-time strategy genre.
00:43You build units and cast spells to take out your opponents.
00:46We're working on three factions for the game.
00:48The Vikings are back from the original,
00:50and you can also play as the Demon Legion and the third yet-to-be-announced faction.
00:55In this video, I'm gonna show off some footage from a skirmish battle
00:58between the Demon Horde and the Viking Legions.
01:01Keep in mind that what I'm gonna show you is work in progress.
01:04That said, let's get to it!
01:10I'm starting this match by building some work rooms.
01:13These little guys will mine for gold, which I'll use to build up my economy.
01:17The more workers I send out, the more gold they'll gather for me.
01:31As a commander of the Demon Army, I can create several cheap units.
01:35They're powerful, but not quite as strong as their Viking counterparts.
01:39That means I'll have to rely on numbers rather than on strength.
01:42I'm using some of my gold to build a group of Goblin Spare Throwers.
01:46These ranged units are the backbone of my army and will apply a slowing poison to enemies they hit.
01:51In large groups, they can be absolutely devastating.
01:56My Viking opponent is sending X-Drowers at me, but I use superior numbers and the Fear spell to make
02:02short work of him.
02:15To win the match, I'll need something that packs more of a punch than my Spear Throwers can dish out.
02:20These serpent warriors are ideal for that task.
02:24They're powerful at close range and turn to stone when they're defeated.
02:27Leaving an obstacle behind them, my enemy will have to destroy before he can move on.
02:34Two of these will tear straight through an enemy Berserker, even if the opponent uses the heal spell to try
02:40and save him.
02:46Later on, my opponent brings Helga, the Viking's hero unit, onto the battlefield.
02:51This is the moment I've been waiting for.
02:53It's time to use the strongest spell in my demon arsenal, Meteor Strike.
02:58I'll mark a location for three powerful meteors to strike.
03:01When they hit, they do massive damage to everything caught in the blast.
03:07Hmm, that wasn't my best strike.
03:09But Helga has still taken quite a bit of damage.
03:12Despite the Viking's polymorphing my tanky serpent, a well-timed Fear almost lets me bring Helga down.
03:19The Berserker coming up behind her will soak up the damage from my explosive barrel riders.
03:25Unfortunately for them, it's already too late to save Helga.
03:32One more push and I've got this.
03:34I'll build a Crypt for some extra pushing power.
03:37This structure will summon skeletons over time and they will attack the enemy as well.
03:43Another Helga appears.
03:44I don't have enough mana for another Meteor Strike right now,
03:47but I can use my Sacrifice spell to trade a Serpent Warrior for some extra mana.
03:59My aim was better this time and I've also killed an extra around some of his workers.
04:04Helga won't survive this encounter, so the battle is as good as one.
04:18It's over!
04:19The Vikings have been defeated by my Demon Horde!
