02:01Hello, everyone, and welcome to Extreme Championship Wrestling.
02:04I'm Joey Stiles, and we are recapping the events of Hardcore Heaven 1999, live on Pay-Per-View.
02:11A memorable night in ECW history, perhaps no match more memorable than the brutal war, pitting the ECW World Television
02:21Champion, Mr. PP the RVD, against the challenger, Jerry Lynn.
02:56From Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jerry Lynn.
02:59And a few minutes into the match, Jerry Lynn got kicked off the top rope and landed on the floor,
03:08flat on his face.
03:10At this time, we all thought the match was over.
03:16Stand down with a solid kick right to Lynn's head, and Lynn crashing down, breaking his nose, perhaps its orbital
03:27bone, and will be undergoing tests all this week.
03:31We do not know the extent of Jerry Lynn's injuries.
03:36But Lynn, believe it or not, fought on.
03:40He started countering Rob Van Damme's offense.
03:45He kept coming back and took the best shot that Rob Van Damme could offer.
03:56Jerry Lynn survived a brutal offensive attack by Mr. PPV RVD.
04:06Van Damme kept punishing Lynn, kept trying to put Jerry Lynn away, but nothing that Van Damme could hit Lynn
04:16with, would stop Jerry Lynn from coming back.
04:20At Rob Van Damme, at Rob Van Damme.
04:29Despite the brutal beating that Lynn had suffered, he kept trying to mount an offense against the whole effing show.
04:41And finally, after Van Damme missed the Van Damminator, Jerry Lynn started taking Rob Van Damme to the extreme.
04:59He survived Van Damme's split-legged moonsault.
05:05And shocked everyone when he survived the Rob Van Damme five-star frog splash.
05:18And scored a near fall on the World Television Champion.
05:25Jerry Lynn gained momentum and went for the Cradle Piledriver, but only great presence of mind by Van Damme saved
05:33the World Television Championship.
05:37Finally, Van Damme hit the Van Damminator and followed through with a second five-star frog splash for the victory.
05:47But no one could deny that the headlines about this match belonged to Jerry Lynn, who displayed unbelievable courage and
05:58put in a miraculous athletic performance.
06:01Jerry Lynn earned everyone's respect, even Rob Van Damme.
06:11When a war waged by Rob Van Damme and Jerry Lynn.
06:16The matchup took such an amazing physical toll on both competitors that after the matchup in the locker room, Rob
06:24Van Damme took several stitches in different parts of his face.
06:27And by Monday morning, both of his eyes had swelled shut.
06:34Meanwhile, Sunday night after the matchup, in another locker room, Jerry Lynn was immediately laid out on the floor by
06:41State Athletic Commission-appointed doctors who feared he had a cracked skull.
06:45Every wrestler, every wrestler, every performer in Extreme Championship Wrestling hovered over Jerry Lynn with concerned faces.
06:56But Lance Storm, Lance Storm of all people, noticed blood trickling from Jerry Lynn's ear.
07:03And knowing, fortunately from experience, that that may be a sign of a cracked skull, didn't wait for the ambulance
07:11called by the doctors.
07:12Lance Storm took it upon himself to pick up Jerry Lynn's limp body and immediately drive him to the emergency
07:19room.
07:21On a personal note, I was taken aback by the humanity shown by Lance Storm.
07:26A world-class performer who markets himself as a real heel, a bad guy.
07:33Yet he took Jerry Lynn to the hospital.
07:37But what we're trying to convey is not how humane Lance Storm is, but rather the respect and admiration that
07:47was earned by Rob Van Damme and Jerry Lynn from everyone in Extreme Championship Wrestling and everyone who saw this
07:58matchup.
07:59Rob Van Damme and Jerry Lynn, two great athletes who put on a show.
08:04Two great athletes who waged a war.
08:09Two great athletes who gave the fans more than their money's worth.
08:14And two great athletes who beat each other half to death in pursuit of the world television title at Hardcore
08:27Heaven 1999.
08:42The Dudley Boys are out cold!
08:44Paul's Mahoney has got to be...
08:48Side guy got caught!
08:57You have got to be kidding me, Joel Gertner.
08:59Gertner's like a fiery young baby face in there.
09:02Look at him fire up.
09:05Joel Gertner's about to die.
09:16Joel Gertner trying to throw fire at Bowles Mahoney.
09:25What is Joel?
09:26This is on the verge of being pathetic right now.
09:30Joel is so proud of himself.
09:38What's he drinking, Joel?
09:40I don't like the looks of this.
09:42I'm no fan of Joel Gertner, but I don't like the looks of this.
09:56Coming up later in the program, Tommy Dreamer finally gets his hands on Lance Storm's Beulah, that bitch.
10:03B-Y-T-C-H.
10:06The return of the most vicious psycho in the history of wrestling.
10:10The monster known as Sid.
10:12And the suicide, homicidal, genocidal maniac.
10:16Savu defies authority yet again.
10:19But now we take you back to Queens, New York City for highlights of a matchup.
10:24Because quite frankly, it was so brutal most of it could never air on television between Bowles Mahoney and the
10:30original gangster New York.
10:34The steal.
10:35The call.
11:07¡Sing along with Bowles here in the Big Apple!
11:24Mosh Pit Karaoke here at the Madhouse of Xtreme in Queens, New York City.
11:33Ladies and gentlemen, this match is an all-weapons legal match.
11:38A Street Fight, Anything Goes!
11:54The chairs twigging, bloodletting, freak, falls, Mahoney.
11:59Against the original gangsta, New Jack, all-weapons legal, anything goes, Extreme Street Fight.
12:09Only an Extreme Championship Wrestling.
12:15And as always, New Jack, is that a vacuum cleaner?
12:20New Jack more than prepared.
12:26New Jack ducks.
12:30Crutch across the back of Mahoney.
12:37Balls of Mahoney going all the way up top.
12:39Great agility for a big man.
12:43Frog splashed by the 350-ponder.
12:47Man collapsed the ribcage of New Jack.
12:52First pinball attempt at the Mets.
12:55Put on the second row.
12:57Every John Peewee Moore right there.
13:01New Jack directly to our left.
13:06Up here on the balcony at the Madhouse of Xtreme.
13:13Oh my God!
13:14Cardinal Baird, Mid-D-D-I-S.
13:28New Jack just leaps up 15 feet from the balcony.
13:33Striving balls, Mahoney through the table.
13:36All the way to the floor.
13:38Here at the Madhouse of Xtreme.
13:56¡Gracias!
14:26¡Gracias!
14:41¡Gracias!
14:45¡Gracias!
14:46¡Mahoney wins!
14:56¡It was a human car wreck!
15:04¡Leaving both the bloody balls, Mahoney and Nujek in the center of the ring!
15:10Nujek diving, 15 feet driving Mahoney through the table.
15:14They're going for the diving chair, but getting caught with the Nutcracker Swing, your winner, Paul Fahoney.
15:29What a war we have seen here tonight in New York City.
15:50This war may not be okay.
16:04Spike gets caught.
16:06Balls get to Spike.
16:08What the hell?
16:12Some thoughts about Hardcore Heaven from Poughkeepsie, New York.
16:16I would have to say that out of all the ECW pay-per-views that I've been witness to, that
16:21has to be my favorite.
16:23But the things that I've seen backstage, particularly after the pay-per-view was over,
16:28I have never seen such an amazing collection of athletes who have put their lives at risk.
16:37I mean, lives and limbs and, in some cases, maybe even livelihoods at risk.
16:41All in the name of extreme championship wrestling.
16:46I mean, a more amazing collection of athletes I've never seen.
16:48For instance, Rob Van Dam coming backstage after his match with Jerry Lynn, missing chunks of his face.
16:57Chunks of his face just gone.
16:59His opponent, Jerry Lynn, his nose was actually in the wrong part of his face after that match.
17:05And, in essence, when he refused medical help, and only until the New York State Athletic Commission interceded,
17:11only then did he get medical help.
17:13It's just pretty amazing all the way around.
17:16Taz, the world champ, I mean, bleeding profusely.
17:20And while he was getting medical attention backstage, hanging on to that world title for dear life.
17:25Obviously, it means the world to him, and I can certainly understand why.
17:30And Tommy Dreamer, Tommy Dreamer, my God, the man couldn't walk.
17:36Literally, this is a shoot now.
17:39Crawling on his hands and knees to get to the bathroom.
17:42Matter of fact, he might still be crawling on his hands and knees right now.
17:45Even a splinter in his eye.
17:47And asked him about it afterwards.
17:48He goes, huh, another day at the office.
17:52Tommy Dreamer.
17:53I mean, I have never seen a collection.
17:56Oh, oh, oh, oh.
17:56I'm sorry, did you hear something?
17:58Hey, hey.
17:59Yeah?
18:00Prozac.
18:01Prozac.
18:02Whatever.
18:03What was the best part of the pay-per-view?
18:05Oh, let's see.
18:06Probably the fact that you weren't on it.
18:09No.
18:10I wasn't on it.
18:11Did you see how many asses I kicked in the locker room?
18:14I don't think anybody saw how many asses I kicked in the locker room.
18:17Look at this.
18:19Eh, eh, eh.
18:20Oh, I see.
18:21I think I got these.
18:22I think I got these.
18:22Oh, I see.
18:23So you kicked some TV crew and some joker named Ron's ass to get those things.
18:27Did they get good close-ups of it?
18:28Uh, they must have just missed it.
18:30Maybe they'll get it in the editing later on.
18:32Huh.
18:32Let me tell you something.
18:33I was the man.
18:34You were the man to get that.
18:36But alas, it didn't make the pay-per-view.
18:38I don't know.
18:39I'm so sorry, Steve.
18:40Oh, so I'm a liar?
18:42I'm sort of intimidating at you.
18:44Oh, you are?
18:45Yeah.
18:46And I don't like how you used my name, either.
18:48Your name?
18:49Your name's Steve?
18:49Oh, you have copyright on the name Steve?
18:51Is that Steve Carino?
18:52Steve?
18:52Any way, shape, or form?
18:55That's mine.
18:56What was I thinking?
18:57You know what?
18:57You should be the next ass I kick.
18:59I'm in an ass-kicking mood.
19:00Oh, so you are threatening to kick my ass right here.
19:03Oh, I'm not just threatening.
19:05I'm going to do it.
19:06You are.
19:06You're going to kick my ass right here, right now.
19:08Why don't you take the glasses off?
19:09Well, I'll leave him on, actually.
19:11Take the glasses off.
19:12Go on.
19:13You might need a target.
19:13Easy target.
19:15You know what?
19:15I'm getting real tired of people like you.
19:17And I'm getting tired of ECW not respecting me.
19:20And I'm out.
19:23Darn it!
19:26Now, there's a better glass to me.
19:31Now, this is the story of a woman called Eula.
19:37But that's not her name.
19:39She's not the real Eula McGillicuddy.
19:41That's just what Lance Storm calls her so that he can get underneath the skin of the innovator of violence,
19:51Tommy Dreamer.
19:52On Sunday night, May 16th, at ECW's Hardcore Heaven 99 pay-per-view, Lance Storm and Keith Eula stood in
20:03the middle of the ring for an extreme get-back against Tommy Dreamer, who brought with him the head distributor,
20:13the queen of extreme, Francine.
20:18This was a deeply personal issue between the Canadian upstart Lance Storm and the innovator of violence, Tommy Dreamer.
20:31These two men literally took each other to the extreme.
20:39But when Tommy Dreamer dedicated a Spicoli driver off the top rope to Louie Spicoli's sister, who was sitting at
20:46ringside, Cyrus the Virus left the broadcast edition, only to get bronco-bustered by Grant Steve, which led to a
20:54cat fight.
20:55And Tommy Dreamer finally got his chance to teach this bitch BYDCH a lesson about exploiting the name of Eula
21:07McGillicuddy.
21:08But Lance Storm cracked Tommy Dreamer with a garbage can, puts the garbage can on Dreamer's head, delivers a spin
21:15kick off the top rope, and Francine's face tells it all.
21:20Lance Storm scores the 1-2-3, the pinball on Tommy Dreamer.
21:27So Tommy Dreamer finally ended the exploitation of the name Beulah by that bitch BYDCH or Dawn Marie or whatever
21:37the hell she's gonna call herself by tomorrow.
21:39But Lance Storm took the win, and it wasn't the last we would see of Lance Storm, as he would
21:46later get involved in a situation involving his co-ord-crime, Just Incredible, the monster known as Sid, and the
21:54suicidal, homicidal, genocidal, Savvy.
21:59The impact player in ECW as of lately has been Justin Credible, who not only broke the ankle of the
22:08franchise James Hudson in James' hometown of Pittsburgh, but also got Savvy fans across the country.
22:16Well, Judge Jeff Jones decided to make the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, his own personal courtroom,
22:25and sentenced Justin to a fate worse than death.
22:28He sentenced the unrepentant criminal to a beating at the hands of Sid.
22:35And when Sid returned to ECW at Hardcore Heaven, it blew the roof off of the Mid-Hudson Civic Center.
22:43Sid opened up his match with Justin Credible by throwing Justin into the light.
22:53But when Sid was going to powerbomb Justin, Justin was saved by the sexiest man on Earth, Jason, who was
23:02powerbombed on his head by the monstrous Sid.
23:08Sid once again attempted to powerbomb Justin, but Lance Storm hit the ring and made the stage, only to be
23:17chokeslammed by the native of West Memphis, Arkansas.
23:22But this gave Justin Credible a chance to throw powder in Sid's face.
23:27This blinded the six-foot-nine-inch, 320-pound behemoth, and he fell victim.
23:38He fell victim to the double-teaming tactics of Justin Credible and the Canadian upstart, Lance Storm.
23:47But when Justin and Lance decided to mock Sabu by trying to put Sid through a table, the suicidal, homicidal,
23:56genocidal Sabu made his appearance at Hardcore Heaven, defying the authorities, ignoring his ban.
24:05And when he was going to put Justin and Sid through a table, Lance Storm pulled Justin away from Sabu,
24:13but Sabu still put the vicious Sid through a table.
24:19Local police and security swarmed the banished Sabu, but he broke away and put one of the security guards through
24:30a table at ringside.
24:35Once again, the security swarmed Sabu as he tried to get to either Sid or Justin Credible.
24:44Judge Jeff Jones then made the worst mistake of his life by chastising Sid, who immediately powerbombed Judge Jeff Jones
24:55straight into the match.
24:57Sid had turned the mid-Hudson Civic Center into his own courtroom, and the case of Judge Jeff Jones had
25:06been dismissed.
25:08At first, it was Bill Alfonso who benched Sabu because Sabu needed a series of surgeries on his jaw.
25:15But then, when Justin Credible and Lance Storm stewed Sabu off to the Athletic Commission and got him banned nationally,
25:23Alfonso changed his tune.
25:25He snapped. He encouraged Sabu to defy authority. He encouraged Sabu to grasp the party at Hardcore Heaven.
25:33And will any of us ever forget the sight of Sabu putting Sid, that monster, through a table?
25:39Nobody has taken Sid to the extreme like Sabu did at Hardcore Heaven.
25:46Justin Credible and Lance Storm can surround themselves with the Marines.
25:53It doesn't matter, because they are going to have to contend with the suicidal, homicidal, genocidal, death-defying maniac known
26:02only as Sabu.
26:05Hello. Cyrus here.
26:08You know, a lot of people, and I don't want to stir anyone up, I hate to have heat, but
26:12a lot of people, the higher-ups, in fact,
26:14are saying that these two gentlemen right here, Justin Credible and Lance Storm, are, in fact, the greatest tag team
26:20in ECW.
26:21Future tag team champions. That's the writing on the wall. Not my opinion, just what I hear. Lance?
26:26It's not your opinion, but it's the truth. Everybody's trying to stand in our way.
26:30The Dudleys, they're avoiding us like the plague.
26:33Tommy Dreamer, who at least had the guts to show up and face me, all he managed to accomplish was
26:39to beat up a woman.
26:41And then Shane Douglas, who can't show up and wrestle, so they send us Sid.
26:45We don't sweat you, big man, because, you see, I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and we don't sweat anybody.
26:53And as for Sabu, well, my partner can take care of him.
26:59Sabu, are you, I mean, I understand that you don't get the English thing.
27:05I mean, you're not real smart. Read my lips, pal.
27:08You're banned. You're finished. You're done. You're not allowed to wrestle.
27:12Do you understand what that means? Do you have any concept, my friend?
27:16You are finished here and anywhere else in the United States.
27:20Now, you know what? We had Sid beat down, and you had to rain on our parade.
27:30We don't like that, Sabu.
27:32Take a good long look.
27:34You're looking at the greatest tag team in wrestling today.
27:39You're looking at the next ECW World Tag Team Champions.
27:45Now, that's not just the coolest, and that's not just the best.
27:50That's just incredible!
27:54This is my favorite part when he did this. It's tremendous.
27:56Yeah, well, of course. I told him that.
28:01When Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sitch interrupted the opening of Hardcore Heaven 99,
28:07we knew we were in for trouble.
28:09You see, Candido had purchased an insurance policy
28:13in the name of the six-time World Tag Team Champions, the Dusty Boys.
28:17But Taz had made a promise.
28:19He was going to choke out Candido the next time Chris showed his face in public.
28:24And that's exactly what Taz did.
28:27He buzzed through the Dudley Boys, got his hands on Candido,
28:31and forced Chris Candido to tap within one minute.
28:36But then the Dudley Boys hit 3-D and issued an open challenge.
28:42Balls Mahoney and Spike Dudley accepted the challenge.
28:45And although Mahoney burned Joel Gertner, Spike and Balls went down to 3-D as well.
28:54Gertner's hit list was revealed in the locker room,
28:57and the Dudleys proceeded to beat everyone up in sight.
29:03Yvonne broke his hand on the head of Chris Chetty,
29:06but Taz let it be known he was coming back after the Dudley Boys.
29:10At the end of the night, it was Taz one-on-one against Bubba Ray Dudley.
29:16And Taz and Bubba Ray fought all over the building
29:20in an FTW-ruled, undisputed heavyweight championship of the World Bank.
29:27Taz, Taz let Bubba Ray through a table,
29:31applied the Katahajime,
29:33and escaped Patipsi, New York,
29:36and the Mid-Hudson Civic Center,
29:38with the undisputed World Heavyweight Championship belt
29:42around his waist,
29:44Taz successfully defended the title
29:47at Hardcore Heaven 1999.
29:53At this time, we take you
29:56to one week before the Hardcore Heaven
29:58pay-per-view,

30:02in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

30:48against Jerry Lynn.
30:51The brutal and that Rob Van Dam
30:53and Jerry Lynn
30:54were both busted open.
30:57As a matter of fact,
30:58after the matchup,
30:59Jerry Lynn is washed
31:00from the hospital
31:01by all people.
31:02Lance Storm.
31:08This match will illustrate
31:10the beating that Rob Van Dam
31:26has sustained
31:29for the past 13 months
31:32in defending the ECW World Television Championship
31:37since winning it
31:39from Bam Bam Bigelow
31:41in Buffalo, New York
31:42in April of 1998.
32:07The fans fall to RB8.
32:09The fans fall to RB8.

33:52Straight right hand, right to the mouth.
33:59On the point of the jaw, Van Dam firing back.
34:06Von Crush right to the pugilist.
34:08Now throws Van Dam into the steel guardrail.
34:14Chair across the back.
34:19It seemed that Skull Von Crush targeted the lower back during the smack jump.
34:27Von Crush backdropped over the guardrail into the first throw.
34:40Springboard into a high cross body.
34:47Van Dam took the fight to the challenger in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
34:55You've got to give credit to Rob Van Dam.
35:01One week away from the pay-per-view and Jerry Lynn going cross into the wind.
35:08Like this.
35:10Springboard up the steel guardrail into the modified Van Daminator.
