00:02La media briefing per Xbox è la più importante di 90 minuti del tutto l'anno.
00:09What do we want to announce? What do we want to push? We're going to push games.
00:12They've said they don't want to see the business for them. They don't want to hear all of that.
00:15Those 90 minuti sono molto hypersensitivi.
00:18What's being shown è debato, and debato, e pratico, e rehearsed, many, many times.
00:25There's something tangible about covering live events. The stress levels, the anxiety, the pain, the risks.
00:31You know, I don't think I've ever been involved in something anywhere else that's so all-hands-on-deck, right?
00:37Like, so many teams are pushing towards the same thing.
00:41Do you wait? You can't, because the clock's ticking.
00:44Do you stick your neck out? Do you take big risks and do what you've got to do?
00:47And that's kind of what we had to do.
00:49Know that G3 is really important for us. People are looking for, okay, what is this change in Xbox?
00:54What does it mean to have a head of Xbox that's really focused on games?
00:57It's really game, game, game, game.
00:59Not a lot of executive middle management up on stage. Let's make sure we have creators up there.
01:04We've got great games that we're showing.
01:05The biggest change that we've made, I think, for E3 this year is really putting the fans at the center
01:10of everything that we do.
01:11They are the front lines of the passion that comes with Xbox.
01:13I want to make sure that when we're there, where the fans hear us, they understand why we're there,
01:18and what this product should mean to us.
01:20It's a bit of chaos. It's a lot of chaos.
01:22Somehow it just works. You know, in all the chaos, people are able to kind of lob in their ideas,
01:27and good ideas build on each other, and it comes together in a great show.
01:30People invest a lot of money in Xbox, and that money is invested so that they know that they have
01:34the best place to play games.
01:36It's our responsibility to stand up on stage and give them the promise of the games that are coming.
01:44Every change that has been made has been changed.
01:47Every plan has been changed.
01:49Every change has been then changed again.
01:51I always say it's like we have just given birth.
01:54Is that right?
01:56E3 is just this whole bombastic thing.
01:59You spend so long with so many people working so hard on certain games, and you don't get to say
02:05anything about it.
02:06And you just kind of live in it with a secret.
02:08We start planning for this show months in advance.
02:11Today we are going to try to do three full run-throughs of the show.
02:15So from start to finish, 90 minutes, and we'll take feedback at the end.
02:19We'll have discussion.
02:20At the end of today, the objective is to have the show fully locked.
02:24So anything after today starts getting into issues...
02:28So we were granted an extra 100 tickets into the E3 media briefing, and we figured, all right, well, let's
02:35give them away to fans.
02:36It's not like Comic Con where you can just buy a ticket.
02:39This one's, uh, it's one of the things on my bucket list.
02:42We can't pay our way into this.
02:44You know, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and my boyfriend's in already.
02:48So I'm standing in the sun like, please let me in too.
02:51It would be really kind of a cool experience just to actually go to E3, get to see how everything's
02:55presented, and be there.
02:57You know, even, maybe even have a chance to even talk with some of the developers or something.
03:01Some of the people who are there.
03:02Maybe even Phil Spencer. It'd be really cool.
03:04Please, Major Nelson, let me in to E3.
03:07I think, I've been there for day one, man!
03:09I was here day one!
03:11Oh, it's a random lottery.
03:12They just gotta show up, and it doesn't matter if they're there early or late.
03:16Whenever they are, it's gonna be a complete random lottery.
03:18Before the show Monday, Graham and I, he and I will be on the green carpet interviewing some of the
03:25celebs and game developers coming into the show.
03:32Everyone was here early. We're like, please be here by 6.45, 6.30.
03:36They're all here on a Monday morning in LA traffic.
03:38We have awesome fans.
03:43Sunset Overdrive coming exclusively to Xbox One later this year.
03:47There is Ted Price!
03:48Ted Price from Insomniac Games and the rest of the gang.
03:51Ted, come on over here.
03:52Great to see you.
03:53It's wonderful to be here.
03:54I gotta tell you, a Sunset Overdrive bus.
03:57What is going on there?
03:58There's actually a mutant stuck on the front of the bus.
04:00That's right.
04:01This is one of the overcharged delirium drinkers.
04:03The OD'd, which are these mutants in the game, that actually are pretty vicious.
04:12I don't, words can't even express the best feeling in the world.
04:16It's Christmas morning all over again.
04:18It's this massive, one of the biggest screens we've ever had.
04:22I mean, and it's got these things that slide in on the side.
04:25There's these panels that erupt, these LED panels on the floor.
04:29It's overwhelming.
04:37It looks like, it looks like the Hulk floated in here.
04:42I don't even know.
04:45Literally at the front.
04:48This is, uh, this is better than I could have even imagined.
04:51This is just completely awesome.
04:53I am blown away.
04:55He's the best scene in the house.
04:57Thank you.
05:08You are shaping the future of Xbox, and we are better for it.
05:14We're dedicating our entire briefing to games.
05:39We will continue to listen to you, and we'll continue to make Xbox for you.
05:46That's the commitment of the entire Xbox team.
06:05Thank you for helping us shape the future of the new Xbox.
06:17Starting a month ago, like, how do we plan on doing this?
06:19How do we plan on adding this stuff to rehearsal time?
06:21Essentially, the rehearsal schedule for E3 press briefing was already packed.
06:25And then we threw on top of it, doing this live Q&A, extra 30 to 40 minute show.
06:30It's a huge ask of the production companies.
06:32Each of the execs on stage will have Bonnie Ross, we'll have Chris Charla, we'll have Ted Price from Insomniac,
06:37we'll have Phil and Yusuf.
06:37Normally, when the press conference is done, they go off and they speak to, like, the BBC and CNN and
06:44all these, like, major media outlets.
06:46They're taking time away from that and giving that straight to the fans.
06:50And it's a conversation.
06:51That's the whole point of it.
06:52We want to know.
06:52We want to hear from the fans.
06:54It's important.
06:55And it's a chance for them, after they see the media briefing, to ask us questions.
06:58What did we not talk about?
07:05What they don't know is that Phil also is inviting all 200 to go to E3 with them for the
07:11next three days.
07:16Phil was talking.
07:17He was talking about how he appreciated all of us being there.
07:19And to really show that off, he decided he was going to give everyone passes.
07:23So we're going to E3.
07:24We're all going to E3.
07:25The people who like Xbox, we're going.
07:27It's going to be everything.
07:27My mind blinked.
07:28I blacked out.
07:30I jumped up and down the screen.
07:31I was like, crazy person.
07:32I was like, see you have a great way to go to E3 and try it.
07:34Actually get to see everything.
07:35I haven't even been to the show floor.
07:37I have no idea what the booth looks like.
07:39There's a whole other group over there that's working on that.
07:44The expo, I mean, it's essentially the same kit of parts that we've used over the last couple years.
07:49And our challenge is to take that kit of parts and make it a fresh experience.
07:56So this is, you won tickets in.
07:58Yes.
07:58You went to the Microsoft store.
08:00You got tickets into the briefing.
08:01And then what do we do?
08:01We got tickets to come here.
08:03Come here, yes.
08:03Yes.
08:04That's right.
08:04So you've never been to the show before.
08:06No.
08:06What is your impression of, I mean, this is the first day, almost frankly the first hour.
08:12What do you think?
08:13I am overwhelmed.
08:15And your tip from yesterday was to take everything in.
08:18Right.
08:18That's what I'm trying to do.
08:38There's just so much going on.
08:41There's so many different games, demos.
08:43Anybody who tries to mess with me, not happening.
08:46I got these two guys with me right here.
08:49What also surprised me is that they brought a Lamborghini in here and they put it on a
08:54spinny wheel, which was amazing.
08:56It looks beautiful.
08:57The Sunset Overdrive and Fable Legends, they both became day one by three.
09:00Originally, I was just a little bit on the fence, but they won me over with a playable game.
09:05Seeing all this stuff on all the other TV channels and everything, like it's nothing compared
09:10to actually being here.
09:11It's just, it's chaos, it's loud, it's colorful, and it's just the best thing ever for a gamer.
09:19It's your birthday, Christmas, Halloween, all rolled into one magical electronic ball.
09:25It's a little different because, I mean, most folks are here to do business.
09:28So they're rushing into their meeting room.
09:30They're working on talking with partners.
09:32They're going to the next meeting, they don't really have time to step up and look around.
09:35And the fans are here for one reason only, that is to look at the games, get their hands
09:39on the games, and just have fun.
09:54Not everyone gets to experience something like this.
09:58They did it right this year.
09:59They did it right this year.
10:03What you're seeing is you're seeing the show come together.
10:06It's just the show being creative.
10:09It's like the nucleuses and all the protozoa, they're all coming together, and they're going
10:13to rise up, and they're going to become this E3 show.
10:23It's good.
10:24It's good.
10:25No, I wasn't good.
10:26You guys were good.
10:26I didn't do anything.
10:27No, that's exactly the term we want, this conversation.
10:30It's behind the scenes.
10:30Oh, we're recording?
10:31I'm good.
10:32Thank you.
10:33Thank you.
