00:03Grazie a tutti, è Graeme Boyd qui, Xbox Live's AC Bongos.
00:07Now back in August we announced the Digital TV Tuner for the UK and Europe
00:10and it is finally available.
00:12So let's take a closer look at how it works and what you can do with it.
00:16And here it is.
00:17So this little guy will let you watch free-to-air TV straight through your Xbox One.
00:22You just plug the coax cable from your antenna or free-to-air cable feed in here
00:26and then plug the USB cable into your console like this.
00:31When you do this on your Xbox you'll see a notification on the screen that Xbox found the tuner
00:35and you'll get prompted to set it up just like this.
00:38You go through a few quick setup steps and then you're watching TV, Xbox One style.
00:43You can use the One Guide to change channels, either full screen
00:46or if you quickly want to browse what else is on you can use the Mini Guide.
00:50And of course you can snap TV alongside a game.
00:53But now let's take a tour of two new features that are unique to the TV tuner.
00:58If you have live pause turned on, this allows the Xbox to set aside some hard drive space
01:02for pausing, rewinding and fast-forwarding live TV.
01:07That means that while I'm watching, the Xbox is recording the last 30 minutes or so of video.
01:12If I missed some of the show, I can rewind it and go back and see it again.
01:15Live pause still works even if you're not watching TV.
01:19So I can pause my show for a while, go and play a game or do anything else
01:23and then come back to it later when I'm ready to watch.
01:26Now here is my favourite feature, TV streaming.
01:30If I want to watch football in the garden or the bedroom instead of the living room,
01:33now I can and I'll show you how to do it as well.
01:36I fire up my Xbox Smart Glass app on iOS or Windows.
01:40Android's coming soon as well, I promise.
01:42Connect to my console and then choose Watch TV.
01:45And there we go, the Xbox is now sending the TV stream straight over the home network
01:50to my mobile device.
01:51I can even pause, rewind and fast-forward TV straight from here.
01:58Now to change channels, I'll just bring up one guide on Smart Glass.
02:01You'll see I get a little picture-in-picture on the top left there
02:04and I can quickly scroll through all my channels and choose something else to watch.
02:09And of course, all my favourite channels show up here as well.
02:12There's even a way to adjust the quality of the stream if my network is a little slower
02:16or faster than the average.
02:18Now as it happens, I'm on best quality at the moment,
02:20but if my network weren't quite so good and it was buffering a lot,
02:23I could switch the quality down to medium.
02:25Now when I do this, the Xbox will transcode the TV stream
02:29so that it will work better across my network.
02:31And the best thing about all of this
02:33is that the console is totally up for grabs while I'm watching TV on another screen.
02:37We can start up Forza Horizon 2 on the console here
02:40and TV keeps on running happily over on the tablet.
02:44Streaming TV, pausing TV, changing channels from my mobile device
02:48and even transcoding the video.
02:49It's all happening in the background without affecting the game at all
02:52and of course, it's all made possible by the unique design of Xbox One.
02:57So that's the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner
02:59and it's available now from the Microsoft Store online
03:02in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
