00:30It's not such a work in progress at this stage, but we hope you'll enjoy having a look at how
00:32it's all coming together.
01:00The orcs from our door, and only when this is done, when our nation has healed, shall I take up
01:07Gal Maraz for Sigma, for the Empire, for the Warhammer!
01:16So that was Emperor Karl Franz giving his rousing pre-battle speech.
01:19He's one of the game's legendary lords, so he's a powerful general and a mighty warrior in his own right.
01:24Playing a campaign as the Empire, you'll unlock this particular quest battle as Karl Franz levels up.
01:32So the Empire's fielding a lot of artillery in this battle, but it's worth noting that you won't just be
01:37able to recruit all of this stuff right from the start of the game.
01:39There are quite a few late-game units on show here today, and the same goes for spells as well.
01:43You'll see a lot of kind of late-game, high-level stuff.
01:55Now, as we approach the green-skin line, you can see just how different these two races are.
01:59The armies from Warhammer Fantasy Battles give us so much diversity to work with.
02:03The playable race in the game are going to look and play really, really differently in both campaign and battle.
02:27And looking out over Blackfire Pass for a second here, you can just see the kind of fantastical landscapes
02:32that we've never been able to do before in a Total War game, and this is just one geographical part
02:37of the Old World.
02:39This is the green-skin race leader Grimgore Ironhide.
02:42He's accompanied by the Immortals, his hard-as-nails band of Black Orc bodyguards.
02:47He's also brought an Orc shaman into battle with him, so we'll see him throwing some spells around in a
02:50bit.
03:08So these snickering little goblins are manning a Doom Diver catapult.
03:11Now, you can see a goblin fanatic there climbing into the mechanism eagerly with his homemade wings strapped to his
03:16arms.
03:17And as it fires, you can opt to take first-person control of a Doom Diver and pilot him to
03:21his doom.
03:22Now, it's a pretty wild ride, but once you get the hang of it, you can really get proficient.
03:43So that's another spellcaster right here. This is a goblin shaman. You can see him riding his wolf there.
03:47So he casts spells from the Little Wah Magical Law.
04:09So he casts spells from the Little Wah Magical Law.
04:29So there's a bit of a flanking counter-attack lining up here from the Empire.
04:32We've got some ranged cavalry up front there in the shape of outriders and pistoliers.
04:35Coming up behind them, we have the noble Imperial Knights of the Reichsguard and a unit of Demigriff Knights.
04:41These are super-heavy shot cavalry on vicious, monstrous mounts.
04:44They can withstand a real pounding, so they're really useful in longer melee engagements.
05:09So the goblin shaman here has just cast a spell called the Curse of the Bad Room.
05:13Now, it's a pretty powerful, impressive-looking high-end spell, but it's worth noting that we don't want magic to
05:18be too OP.
05:19You'll have a limited pool of magic to use in every battle that recharges over time, according to various factors.
05:24But basically, you're going to have to pick and choose just when to cast high-level spells like this.
05:28We don't want magic to totally dominate the game. It's more of a kind of useful supporting tool.
05:33So the Demis are going in now, and you can see just the beautiful hand-crafted animations at work here.
05:38I mean, you can see that throughout the battle.
05:40One thing that we're still working on is cavalry versus cavalry impacts, and in fact impacts across the board.
05:44So what we're aiming for is scenes like this to be much more punchy, with more physical hit reactions from
05:49the cavalry that struck.
05:50In short, we want to make a real kind of spectacle of these engagements.
06:16So panning down the line here, you can see just how dynamic our infantry charges have become.
06:20You've got units leaping into the fray, defenders physically bracing for impact.
06:24You've got AOE attacks going off from large characters.
06:26That's Grimgore Ironhide there getting stuck in with his big magical axe.
06:36And in go the trolls at the end of the line here.
06:38Now, monstrous infantry like this have, you know, lots and lots of hit points.
06:42They can meet out a ton of damage with those big attacks as well.
06:45And these guys are also, as you can see, partial to puking acid bile all over their enemies.
07:19A bit of aerial combat.
07:21Now, if you gain mastery of the skies in a battle like this, you can then use the manoeuvrability of
07:26your flying units to strike pretty much anywhere on the battlefield.
07:41And as the wyvern comes down here to attack these state troopers, you can see how each of these big
07:45monsters has some really spectacular combat animations.
07:48And it really brings them to life and gives them tons of character.
08:01Now, these are two of the Empire's hero characters.
08:04This is the warrior priest and just beyond him, they're the witch hunter.
08:07Heroes are essentially agents so they can roam the campaign map, perform a number of different functions.
08:12But they're also powerful solo warriors in their own right.
08:14And if you attach them to an army, they can then throw themselves into combat alongside the troops.
08:44So this is the orc shaman casting one of the spells from the big wah magical lord.
08:49So he's casting the foot of Gorg here, which is literally summoning the orc god Gorg to stamp his enemies
08:55into the dust.
08:56Which is, as you can see, bad news for the luminarch and the steam tank nearby.
08:59And then, you'll fight the fire from the car and draw him to the fringes.
09:06Into his car, the enemy nons looks a bit dangerous.
09:13Oh, no!
09:14Oh, no!
09:14Oh, no.
09:15Oh, no!
09:17Oh...
09:18Oh, no!
09:19Oh, no!
09:19Oh, no!
09:19Oh, no!
09:20Oh!
09:21Oh, no!
09:23That guy!
09:25Oh, no!
09:26Oh, no!
09:44Grazie a tutti.
10:08Grazie a tutti.
10:31Grazie a tutti.
