Trascrizione
00:00Hi, I'm Joe Belfiore.
00:02Today, we announced that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade
00:06for millions of PC users out there.
00:09And we demonstrated another wave of features
00:12that will be coming in Windows 10.
00:14Besides the PC, we also showed Windows 10
00:18running on phones for the very first time.
00:21In this video, I'll walk through some of those newly announced features for the PC.
00:25To get a look at the mobile version,
00:27check out my companion video on Windows 10 for phone.
00:31Before we get into it, here are a few important things to remember.
00:35What you're seeing today are just some of the great features of the final product.
00:39We'll continue to develop and refine right up to our launch.
00:43Let's jump right in.
00:44Back in September, I introduced a feature called Continuum
00:48for seamlessly transforming a two-in-one
00:50between a PC-like keyboard mode and a tablet-like touch mode.
00:55Now, I'm able to show it working in real code.
00:58Here, you can see my desktop UI get switched automatically and smoothly
01:02to tablet mode when I detach the keyboard.
01:06With that change, I now have a touch-first screen
01:08ready for swiping and tapping.
01:11The Start menu transitions to full screen,
01:13and everything feels right for tablet.
01:16And, when I reattach the keyboard,
01:19it naturally returns me to laptop mode
01:23with the windows right where I left them
01:25and the Start menu back to small size.
01:28Wondering how this looks if you have a tablet
01:30like this eight-inch device?
01:33Well, just the opposite.
01:35When in tablet mode,
01:36I still get tons of great Windows-friendly features
01:38like snapping a window to the side
01:40and choosing another to go next to it
01:43or resizing these two snapped windows.
01:46And, of course,
01:47I can attach this to a keyboard, mouse, and larger screen
01:50and then operate it like my regular PC.
01:53A favorite feature of today's Windows phone users
01:56is getting your own personal digital assistant built right in,
02:01Cortana.
02:03Cortana is different than, say, Siri
02:05because Cortana gets to know you personally
02:08and then she can help you out
02:10in smarter and more proactive ways.
02:13She learns more and more about you over time,
02:16understanding the interests and people you care about most.
02:19That kind of help shouldn't be limited to just one device,
02:22so we're bringing Cortana to PCs too.
02:26Cortana on the PC will do all the things
02:28that Cortana does on the phone,
02:30like answering questions,
02:31setting up appointments,
02:33and delivering reminders.
02:35Hey, Cortana,
02:36remind me to send an email to my wife about the party.
02:42When do you want to be reminded?
02:44Cortana delivers the reminder at the right time
02:47on the right device for me to act on it.
02:50But we also want Cortana to be good
02:52at the common things that you do just on your PC,
02:55like finding a file or an email
02:57or launching an app or changing a setting.
03:00And not only can I speak commands,
03:02but I can type them as well
03:03into the Cortana area you see right here on the taskbar.
03:06And last, imagine you're busy at work on your PC
03:10doing a report or a spreadsheet.
03:12You want to send a quick email.
03:14If you had a personal assistant who could do it for you,
03:16that would be possible
03:17without even removing your hands from the keyboard.
03:20Hey, Cortana, send an email to my wife about the Seahawks.
03:26What's your message?
03:27What a week.
03:28The Seahawks are on a roll.
03:30Let's get everyone together for a party.
03:32Go Hawks!
03:35One of the things that makes Windows terrific
03:37is the amazing apps people have written over the years.
03:40Windows 10 will include a built-in suite of apps
03:43that we've authored to run seamlessly
03:45across PCs, tablets, and phones.
03:48The Xbox app will open up
03:50a whole world of gaming on your PC,
03:53track your friends and your achievements,
03:55and you'll even be able to stream a game
03:57from your Xbox One right onto your PC.
04:00Our Photos app automatically displays photos
04:04from across your PC and phone
04:05via the auto-syncing OneDrive service.
04:08The collection view is easy to use
04:11with auto-enhance of every photo
04:13and auto-grouping of dupes, burst shots,
04:16and even auto-created albums that you can share.
04:21Mail and calendar apps are built-in for free
04:24and will provide a fast, familiar, and powerful
04:27cross-device experience
04:29for whatever mail service you have.
04:31Our music and video apps are getting an overhaul
04:34and will put all your entertainment at your fingertips.
04:37And we're including a Maps app as well
04:40to help you find your way wherever you're going.
04:43There's one more major feature in today's news.
04:46We announced an all-new browser app
04:49codenamed Project Spartan.
04:51This browser is designed to be great
04:53at helping you get things done on the web.
04:56The new browser is built on our modern platform
04:59with a new browsing engine and new UI.
05:03That means modern sites work reliably,
05:06consistently, and incredibly fast.
05:08But when you need backward compatibility,
05:10it's there too.
05:12Of course, what you're probably most interested in
05:14are the amazing new features in the UI.
05:17For one thing, we've made the tabs in our browser
05:20really easy to manage with cool features like tab collapsing.
05:24More substantial, this is the only browser
05:27with built-in annotations
05:29for commenting directly on web pages.
05:32You can use a pen to draw or make notes,
05:35or you could just use your keyboard
05:37to type right on the page,
05:39and then you can easily share your thoughts with others.
05:42This browser is also great for reading.
05:45It has a reading mode
05:46that sweeps away distracting clutter
05:48from online articles
05:49to give you a cleaner, more enjoyable reading experience.
05:53It reads PDF files
05:55and will automatically save articles
05:57for reading offline later
05:59if you add them to your reading list,
06:01which is built right in.
06:02All these features work across your devices,
06:05so you can save something on your PC
06:07and read it later on your tablet or phone.
06:10Finally, we're improving the web
06:12by tapping into the power of Cortana
06:14right in the browser.
06:16Imagine having an assistant
06:17to make your web browsing
06:19more personal and relevant
06:21so you can find and do things online
06:23with greater speed and precision.
06:26Cortana is there to help
06:27when you type in the address bar,
06:29and she's able to provide help and insights
06:31as you look at pages on the web.
06:34That's a quick tour
06:35of some of the major additions
06:37to Windows 10 we just announced.
06:39There are so many great features
06:40here now and coming soon
06:42that you're going to want to check them
06:43all out for yourself.
06:45The way to do that
06:46is to sign up as an insider
06:48and then download the preview
06:49at the URL here on your screen.
