00:30All right, this is probably the most popular question that we had.
00:34So Bradley Walsh, GamingBullHD and DatRandomName though all asked,
00:39Will I need to have played the other games to understand the story or is it open to new players?
00:43Good question actually.
00:44Because this is the first time you're on PlayStation.
00:46Yes, that's a really good question. You don't need to.
00:49You don't need to because that's something we were aware of and we wanted the third game to be just
00:54a standalone.
00:56So what we're doing is we introduce you to the world of The Witcher, to what is a Witcher, what
01:02are you supposed to do?
01:03It's a role-playing game so you better understand how to roleplay and who to roleplay is.
01:07So no, you don't have to. We have ways at the beginning of the game to introduce you to all
01:13these things.
01:13Not just the lore of The Witcher but also the mechanics.
01:18The new ones of course but also the ones that were in the second title.
01:22So don't worry, you can just jump in there. It's all good.
01:24Okay, latent soul and live for eating.
01:29That's me by the way.
01:30Yeah, and me. Clearly.
01:32Will there be an option to somehow transfer your save game from 360 or PC?
01:36I know we saw something called Dragon Age Keep with EA.
01:40You know, we made some pretty bold choices at the end of Witcher 2.
01:43You know, I've got a sorceress with no eyes at the moment.
01:45Okay.
01:46You know, like Kill Dragon.
01:48Right.
01:49So will these affect The Witcher 3 and if they're going to, is there a way to bring those decisions
01:53over?
01:53Yes.
01:55Yes.
01:56Even if you have, so if you've played on the PC, of course, you know, you keep the save data
02:00and that will just transfer.
02:02If you have played The Witcher 2, even on a different console, and now you have a PS4, we have
02:09ways for you to tell the game what decisions you made.
02:15Good.
02:16I'm not going to tell you what it is because I think it's a very clever thing and I don't
02:19want to spoil it.
02:20But it's there.
02:21But it's there and it's cool.
02:23That's the most important, that it's there.
02:24Yeah.
02:26Lowekombe has asked, will you consider porting or remastering Witcher 1 and 2 for release on PS4?
02:32And Kota21 says, Witcher Collection on PS4?
02:35That would be cool.
02:37That would be really cool.
02:39Well, like I said, I've got a PS4, so that's for me.
02:43We have no plans to do that, honestly.
02:45We talk about it sometimes in the office, you know, it wouldn't be cool if, but right now, first we
02:50need to finish the game.
02:51Yeah, let's get Witcher 3 done.
02:52That would be pretty good.
02:53After that, we've got a lot of DLC.
02:56Cyberpunk.
02:57Yeah, we have Cyberpunk.
02:59It's a beautiful game as well, but I can't talk about it.
03:01First, we need to focus as well on Witcher.
03:03Like I said, free DLC, that's the important bit.
03:05For me as a gamer, it makes me happy.
03:08It made me happy when we announced it because it's not an easy thing to do, you know.
03:13Yeah.
03:13But it's something we were adamant whether we, you know, it has to be free DLC and it has to
03:19be quality DLC, you know, not just a pair of boots or whatever.
03:23I'm talking like new quests, all of cool stuff that's just going to appear everywhere in the world and it's
03:28all free.
03:29And I'm happy about that.
03:30I think it's incredible and you did it so well with Witcher 2 as well.
03:33You really, well, that's what you wanted to achieve and you did it.
03:36It's who we are and it's who we are and when, you know, when you come work for City Product,
03:41we make sure that not only are you really good at what you do, but it's important that you have
03:44the same mentality that you are, you know, a gamer, that you respect gamers.
03:51Yeah.
03:51Especially if you're a gamer.
03:52I don't like it when, you know, I'm charged a ton of money for something that really isn't worth that,
03:58first of all, and two, could have been free.
04:00And so, like I said, we worked really hard for it. It means a lot to me as a gamer
04:04that I worked for a company that was able to release, or is going to be able to release so
04:09much free DLC. It's cool.
04:10Now, funnily enough, you've kind of answered Omid's question, which was, will there be a season pass to support the
04:16game in the long term?
04:17Now, I knew there was going to be DLC, but clearly we want to get that out there.
04:22It's just free DLC, so no need for a season pass. If we were to, the plan for us is,
04:29if we're ever going to charge for something, and that's the rule, if we're ever going to charge for something,
04:33we're talking something huge.
04:35You know, it has to be massive. And then we'd consider, okay, this is, I don't know, like 20 hours
04:41worth of gameplay.
04:42Yeah, it's a game.
04:43It adds a new region, exactly. It's a game, so only then, man, a season pass that wouldn't be needed.
04:50It's not you.
04:50No, it's not what we do.
04:52It's not CD Projekt.
04:52It doesn't make sense, does it?
04:53Not for you guys.
04:55Sorry.
04:56Don't need to apologise. I wouldn't apologise for that.
04:59Igna asks, will there be a bigger variety of monsters than you've seen in previous Witcher games?
05:04Yes.
05:05Yes.
05:05Now, some have come back, because I've already killed some very familiar monsters.
05:09Yeah, yeah, some have come back. We have, well, you've probably come across some drowners and some neckers, maybe.
05:16I took out drowners. I took out two drowners before I went for a swim.
05:19Yes, yes. Well, we have maybe different types of drowners that you can find in different waters, but we've added
05:25a lot of monsters.
05:26But it's not just, you know, throwing monsters. We wanted, we looked at each monster, we said, okay, what's the
05:31story behind this?
05:33Where do they live? What's their, maybe they have some fears, maybe they become stronger when it rains or when
05:41they're particular, when it's daytime or nighttime.
05:44And so they're a lot more complex. They're like a little puzzle. And you can approach the puzzle without knowing
05:49anything. That's fine.
05:51You're probably going to die, but...
05:53Yeah, let's just get that out there. I've seen a few people die already quite a few times taking on
05:58a griffon.
05:59Yes.
06:00I didn't, FYI. I killed the griffon first time.
06:03Hold on. Were you prepared?
06:04Yes.
06:05Well, there you go.
06:05I learned that from the Cairn. It's a lot easier.
06:08Yes.
06:09If you set the traps for the Cairn, like don't just, just do what they told you to do.
06:13Exactly.
06:14Have the toxin antidote and the traps.
06:16It's the same, it's the same principle where you can listen to people and they might give you some information.
06:22Yeah.
06:23All that information goes into your inventory, into the glossary. I mean, so as soon as you learn something, it
06:30will be added to it.
06:31Yeah.
06:31Before you fight it, you have really, okay, this portion will be good against it and so on and so
06:35forth.
06:35But yeah, it's true. There's a guy that said to me, oh, I want to fight the griffon, but I'm
06:41not really prepared.
06:42And he went, well, let's go anyway. And I don't know. I had to, yeah, it's like, go for it.
06:47See what happens. Good luck.
06:48But it's good if you can pull it off because...
06:51You've got skills. If you can do it, you've definitely got skills.
06:54Exactly.
06:54More skills than me. I needed to have everything ready.
06:58Yeah, but at the end of the day, you didn't die and you went forward and you did, so preparation.
07:02But the monsters don't scale.
07:06Yeah, now you mentioned this before, they don't. So if you run off, you know, you think, oh, you know
07:10what, I just want to explore the map.
07:11It's like, you can, but dude, you're going to die.
07:15Yeah, it depends. I wouldn't go out at night or I wouldn't necessarily go too far at night. Just explore
07:24anyway. Don't be scared of exploring.
07:26We reward you. You go explore, you see something in distance, go check it out. I mean, worst case scenario,
07:32you die, but maybe you can run away from it.
07:35There's no shame in running away.
07:36Come back and get it later.
07:37Exactly. And that's, I find that super satisfying. To me, it feels great as a gamer because you get your
07:42ass cake, you go, you level up, you come back.
07:46You take it out.
07:46Exactly. Grab the loot. Thanks very much.
07:48Exactly. Right. The base gamer. Since it's such a huge open world, can we expect to find some cool Easter
07:54eggs in there?
07:55Now, for those of you that haven't played The Witcher 2, there's quite a famous Easter egg at the very
07:59beginning where Geralt finds something that looks very familiar to Altair.
08:05Maybe.
08:06Maybe.
08:06Maybe. Just speculating. But we love Easter eggs.
08:09Yeah, we have a lot. Actually, the way we approached Easter eggs is we involved the whole team and we
08:15started a list, a wish list, basically, years ago.
08:20And it's like, well, wouldn't it be cool if…
08:22Crossing them off one by one.
08:23This guy was called like that and, you know, it would be a reference to this and it would be
08:28quite fun and we have a huge list.
08:29They didn't all make it, but we got a lot. Some quite obscure, others less.
08:34Yeah, like, no one's ever going to get that.
08:36Yeah, but, you know, at the end of the day, I don't really mind because if someone tells me such
08:41and such community or someone who has seen that movie will get it, it's like, well, fair enough.
08:46I don't have to get all of them, but as long as there's someone out there who's going, oh, that's
08:51nice, then I'm happy.
08:52That basically means coming late this May will be PlayStation Access seven favourite Easter eggs in Witcher Wild Hunt.
08:59Rob will probably get working on that already.
09:02Loud Lightning 3, will we be presented with any possible ultimatums in the game, shifts in how the story is
09:08told?
09:09Yes.
09:10Good.
09:11We have basically, all right, I'm going to tell you something. You have to find this girl called Ciri.
09:19Yes.
09:20You know that.
09:22I've just finished Baptism of Fire, the fourth book.
09:25Oh, are you reading books? Nice.
09:27Yeah, I am. I've just finished it a few weeks ago.
09:30Oh, very good. Okay, so Ciri, for those that don't know, is Geralt's daughter, sort of.
09:39Like a ward, he's looking after her.
09:41Yeah, he's looking after her, but the relationship is very strong.
09:45For a man who's really quite serious and, you know, he has a very special place for his daughter, adopted
09:54daughter.
09:55And you have to find her.
09:56Eventually, that's what the game is all about.
09:58You have to find this girl who's really important.
10:02She literally can save the world.
10:04So you have to find her before others do.
10:07And throughout the game, you may find out that she was in a certain place, for example.
10:14And then we'll say, now you will experience that from her point of view.
10:19Okay.
10:19So it's really nice, because then you play as her.
10:22And it's great from a gameplay point of view, because she plays quite differently.
10:27She still uses a sword, a sword.
10:29Because she is, I mean...
10:31She was trained as a witcher.
10:33She was trained as one, but ultimately she's a sorceress.
10:36That's who she was meant to be.
10:38So they've sort of mixed the two.
10:41And it's explained in the book.
10:43And what we've done is we've given her some really cool abilities.
10:46The fighting with her is really enjoyable.
10:49But not only that, it gives you another point of view from the story.
10:53And I really like that.
10:55I like that.
10:56Now you're doing really well, because you've kind of just led into this one.
10:59So DagoraTV would like to know, how is Siri being implemented into the game?
11:03British Gentleman 2 says, what major differences will we experience when playing as Siri?
11:08Okay.
11:09Well, it's important to point out that you don't just switch between the characters.
11:13So you can't just press a button and then all of a sudden you're Siri somewhere else?
11:16No.
11:16No, no, that's right.
11:17It's only a few times throughout the story when we let you play her for maybe half an hour, for
11:24an hour, just a little bit.
11:26When it makes sense and when we think that it will really help you find the drive to find her.
11:34You see the chase through her eyes.
11:37And like I said, even for half an hour, you understand the struggle.
11:40You understand what she's going through.
11:42You had to fight as well.
11:43You had to talk to some people.
11:44And when you go back to Geralt, you just really want to find her if you didn't before.
11:48But now you really want to.
11:49And it'll be a few times throughout the game, but the focus is still on Geralt for sure.
11:54Very good.
11:56Day 3002 would like to know, last year CD Projekt Red said something about a new big mini game in
12:02Witcher 3.
12:03A card game.
12:04Yes.
12:05Can you tell us more?
12:05I can and I'm very happy because...
12:08I think I played it in one of the pubs that we came up to at the beginning of the
12:13prologue.
12:13Yes, did you?
12:14Good, because I designed it with a friend of mine.
12:18It was very good then.
12:19It was the best card game ever.
12:20Awesome.
12:21We wanted to do...
12:22First of all, the idea was we wanted to do something that was fun on its own.
12:29Like a standalone sort of thing.
12:31Not something you feel like you have to do because there's a trophy to unlock for doing it.
12:35Something you actually want to be doing.
12:36Yeah, exactly.
12:38The rules that was...
12:40The limitations I was given is it's got to be pretty quick, pretty short.
12:44Like 10 minutes.
12:45It's got to be 10 minutes.
12:46Okay, so let's see what we can do.
12:48So what we came up with, it's a card game where you can collect more cards throughout the world.
12:57You can find them, you can maybe win them when you play the game.
13:00And you have four different factions, four different play styles, and each card is beautiful
13:05because we used all our artists, concept artists, and they've done hundreds and hundreds of them.
13:13So you're going to print these, right?
13:14And they're going to be able...
13:16Because that's the kind of thing...
13:17That's what I want.
13:18I can find as a collector, that's the kind of thing I want.
13:20Because I've got every single Witcher special edition that's ever been released on my living room windowsill.
13:24Mm-hmm.
13:25I want those cards.
13:26We'll see then.
13:27Pre-Ox Production would like to know, how deep is the customization?
13:31You and Owen says, crafting options?
13:33Yes, of course you can craft so many things from...
13:39Potions.
13:40Yeah, but even your armor, the way you then affect the armor or the weapon, whether you can craft a
13:46potion.
13:48It's very, very deep.
13:50If you really want to get into it, you will be rewarded with some epic gear.
13:53And even potions.
13:54I mean, if you decide that potions do your thing, go for it.
13:58Spend a lot of points, XP, into unlocking certain skills that will allow you to craft these mad potions.
14:05I really like it.
14:06But you've got to be careful.
14:06You have a toxicity level.
14:08Yeah, as we've seen.
14:09That gets too high.
14:10Not too many potions.
14:11Yeah, yeah.
14:11Otherwise, it's just insane.
14:13You go mad.
14:14And these affect how Geralt looks as well, I'm taking.
14:17Like they've done previously, so if you change your sword, you'll see the sword you've changed to.
14:20Absolutely.
14:21Yeah, you see it in the inventory as well.
14:23Yeah.
14:23I think I found a new sword when I was playing, so I had a better sword and I went
14:26to go fight my griffon.
14:27Awesome.
14:29Django Fett would like to know, as well as actually quite a few other people, will it be able to
14:34play with friends online?
14:35Now, Witcher has always set itself up as this is a beautiful, deep, single-player kind of experience.
14:40Is that something you want to continue with?
14:42Well, for us, it's single-player experience.
14:46I think there's still, I mean, I grew up playing single-player games and I had no problem immersing myself.
14:53Having, you know, role-playing my character and then telling my friends about it.
14:58Yeah.
14:58So for us, it's single-player.
15:00That's our strength.
15:01Never say never for the future, but right now.
15:03But right now.
15:03That's where we're staying, yeah.
15:04Cool.
15:05Final question, bonus question from someone called Captain America.
15:10Got to be a good question.
15:11What is the final resolution and frame rate?
15:15We never, nobody ever asked me this question.
15:18Really?
15:18I just, you know, it was just a couple of people wanted to know, you know.
15:23Yeah.
15:23I just thought...
15:24No, people don't care about this.
15:25What they care about is, you know, how good the game is and how deep the story is.
15:30Now, the game looks...
15:31It just...
15:32It looks gorgeous, doesn't it?
15:33It looks...
15:34It looks...
15:35It's beautiful.
15:36It's 1080p 30 frame, yeah.
15:40So it's...
15:40There you go.
15:41It's beautiful.
15:42It really is gorgeous.
15:43I'm very proud of it.
15:44And you guys have promised after this interview, I can go back and play some more and I'm going
15:46to play something else.
15:47I'm going to play a new...
15:48Yes.
15:49I've been promising you a bit.
15:50Go for it.
15:51Thank you so much.
15:52They've told you about it.
15:53They told you the secret bit that we're going to share.
15:54No, no.
15:54They just told me they're going to show me a bit.
15:56Didn't know it was secret.
15:57I do now.
15:58Yeah, you'll see.
15:58You'll see.
15:58It's good.
15:59What?
16:00Right, that's it.
16:00Thank you so much for your time.
16:02You're welcome.
16:02Thank you guys so much for leaving your questions.
16:05I know we couldn't ask absolutely everything because you guys have a game to make and I think
16:09it's more important you maybe get back and get that game finished.
16:11Yes, we have to finish it.
16:13You have to finish it.
16:13We're not pushing the date again.
16:14No, please don't push the date again.
16:16Please.
16:17Guys, thank you so much for watching.
16:19We're going to have more coming up on Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.
16:21So please stay tuned to the YouTube channel and don't forget to subscribe.
