01:15skills before going into a match.
01:17So say you took triple rock
01:19and triple fire and that
01:21wasn't working for you, you can spread out
01:23skill points for the next round.
01:25But other than that, the characters locked in
01:27for the duration of the best
01:29of three. The mobile arena
01:31is obviously a longer
01:33time than normally in game.
01:35Yeah Dave, it actually is never going to drop
01:37so you are stuck in this mobile arena
01:39it's really going to force the fight
01:41there is no backing down from fights
01:43when you're in the mobile arena. But
01:45you know, there is still some of that strategy
01:47and stealth play that you can do.
01:49You know, the hunters and the monsters
01:51do not start out looking straight at each other.
01:53So you have time as a monster
01:55player to sneak around, perhaps
01:57get a little nibble of food, or
01:59as the hunters to set up some traps.
02:00You know, using Bucket and Maggie.
02:02Yeah, so a lot of good choices here
02:04on both sides of things.
02:07So a lot of hunters that can
02:08lay down traps, slow down the monster,
02:11but also make the monster visible.
02:13So Daisy actually
02:14even though they are not tracking
02:16the monster right now, could potentially be a great
02:19choice here in the mobile arena.
02:20Oh, Daisy is a great extra lifeline.
02:22You know, helping other of the hunters up.
02:24And you know, sometimes the monster gets real stealthy
02:27and looking at Daisy will help in these mobile arenas.
02:29Now the monster here has the
02:31opportunity to switch his skills,
02:33but I think he is feeling a bit
02:35confident here and he wants to go back in
02:37and just try brawling it out one more time.
02:39So the collection tanks here,
02:41the name of this mobile arena,
02:42which I think is pretty cool because now
02:44these specific locations on the maps
02:46have developer named names.
02:48So next time you're in the game,
02:50you can point to a specific area and say,
02:52hey, I fought a good arena here in arena
02:54mode. Let's drop another one here and
02:56catch the monster. Yeah, and looks like
02:58the monster is going to be collecting bodies
03:00at the collection tank as he is
03:02going in on them. This round,
03:05you know, he hasn't changed much
03:06other than just really landing his attacks
03:08and taking it to their face.
03:10You see Daisy's already down and now
03:12supports down as well. And so the monster
03:14can actually stage up as well in their
03:16arena and get to stage three if there's
03:18enough meat and enough incapacitations
03:20to give him the energy to do so.
03:22And sometimes it's a smart way to go.
03:24You know, sometimes people aren't as
03:26into quick matches. They want to draw it
03:27out. They want to get one, maybe two
03:29incapacitations, head back, get some more
03:31armor, level up and get more of those
03:34skills at your disposal.
03:35But this guy right here is just going in
03:37and this is actually what I like to do in
03:40the arena. You know, I really love
03:42brawling. You know, that's my favorite part of
03:44Evolve. And so I feel like this mode was
03:45built for me. And you know, just taking
03:48the fight to them and just having no
03:49reason to back down really. You know, the
03:52rounds are short. You can get into a match
03:53really quick and it's a best of three. So if you
03:55fail the first time, you go back in there,
03:58you get your head straight and you take it back to them.
04:00Torval doing a great job of dodging
04:02as the rest of the team is on the ground.
04:04This could be a win for the monster
04:05taking us to game three.
04:07Yeah, and I'm hoping for it. And looks like
04:09he took Torval down and that is
04:11a monster win. So one to one, Dave.
04:14And here we go. Going for the grand
04:16prize. You do see the pop up
04:18there to change abilities. But once again,
04:19the monster is going to stick
04:21with the same abilities here
04:23in game three.
04:25I, you know, I respect it, Dave. You know,
04:28having confidence in the build you've taken
04:29not backing down after one loss
04:32realizing that it worked well in the second game
04:34and then, you know, also seeing
04:36if the hunters have what it takes to
04:38just to figure out that build
04:39and fight back.
04:41So far so good for the hunters. They're sitting down
04:43traps. You've got Bucket here with sentry guns.
04:46Maggie with the harpoon traps.
04:49Nice little safe
04:50spot up there for the hunters to work from.
04:54Yeah, this is a good fight.
04:56And, you know, Goliath is one of my favorite monsters
04:58to take into these arenas and this guy
04:59is really putting the hurt on. Oh, and big rock
05:02throw, Dave. You know I'm a fan.
05:03A person who can land a rock throw. I've got
05:05much respect for a well-placed rock.
05:08Lots of bodies falling, including
05:09Bucket and wildlife
05:11that could potentially be some armor for the
05:13monster later in the game.
05:16Yeah, and in these mobile arenas,
05:17it's nice to not have to worry about
05:19trapping the monster. You know, I like to see
05:21evolve as two phases of the game.
05:24Phase one is when you're hunting
05:25the monster or running away from the hunters.
05:27And phase two is once you've trapped them
05:29is that actual combat.
05:31You know, now that they're in the mobile arena
05:32for the amount of time that they're in it,
05:35actually focusing on doing damage.
05:37And here we cut straight to that.
05:38So the monster already knows
05:40that he has to just go in and fight.
05:43And it's just a nice change of pace, Dave.
05:45You know, really getting in there.
05:46And it's a good way to learn and perfect
05:49those combat skills.
05:51He does pick up
05:52a little combat armor there, which I always love
05:54to see from a monster.
05:56Moving in on
05:57support. Support already with two strikes.
06:00This could be it for Bucket.
06:01And down he goes. Dave, you know, I like what you're saying
06:03about that combat armor. It is really important
06:06in arena mode to stop
06:08and not smell the roses, but actually get
06:10some armor in the middle of the match.
06:12You know, even if it's one or
06:14half a meet, you know, whatever you can
06:16get, a little bit of armor is going to go a long
06:18way in these battles.
06:19Stop and smell the corpses quoted by Shaq
06:22here in the arena mode reveal.
06:25One thing I do like
06:26to see in the mobile arena or in
06:27any fight in Evolve is
06:30the hunters using all of their abilities
06:32to not just do damage to the
06:34monster, but also keep the monster confused
06:36and on the run.
06:38Using that
06:40support group cloak, the acceleration
06:42field from Kyra are great
06:44ways to fight the monster in
06:46close quarters.
06:46Yeah, and arena or not here the
06:48monsters come and they're
06:50monsters. I mean the hunters and the hunters are
06:52taking it to the Goliath right now
06:54and looks like this is probably going to not
06:56end in his favor. Very close to getting
06:58assault down finally.
