18:23Oh no.
18:24Oh no.
18:28Oh no.
18:30Oh no.
18:33Oh no.
18:35And John I wanted to talk about you and your background.
18:39You know tell us this is a loss of self coming here too.
18:42But I want to talk a little real briefly about
18:43come in front of them all, while they project.
18:45Oh, ok.
18:46Well, I'm an actor I shoot a lot of TV film,
18:50you guys might have heard of a show called Bravest Warriors.
18:54Yeah, we've had a show called Relogion
18:57and a bunch of other shows, but...
19:00I got thinking one day that TV is really great,
19:05but you do it and you see the show and it kind of moves on.
19:08And I thought, I live the air beams on a day-to-day basis,
19:11Why can't I do one?
19:13So I called my agent and I was like
19:15Act!
19:15Why don't I have to do this?
19:17And they said
19:17Oh you think you're up to a challenge?
19:20Here you go
19:21Here's an audition
19:21Good luck
19:22And I went and I did it
19:23And then I never heard it coming back
19:25I never heard it coming back
19:27And I
19:28You guys want to talk about how that goes?
19:30That process?
19:31I feel like
19:32I feel like there were questions
19:34That anybody wants to ask me
19:36I'll answer all of them
19:37Well we're going to be doing a Q&A
19:39With everyone a little bit later on
19:40Okay
19:40I'm not going to tell you the names
19:42But what
19:43J.P. what do we see
19:44My parents are going to see
19:44Because of the concepts of Drew
19:45Actually I think
19:47Kami has the best
19:48In fact
19:49This is one of the things
19:50That he worked on quite a bit
20:37No, no, lott of my characters that I've created so far
20:41are more or less super action heroes
20:45or they come with super skills.
20:48They come pretty quick,
20:50but as you can see from Drew
20:53and these facial expressions here,
20:55he's really supposed to be an everyday,
20:58sort of normal life living guy.
21:01He could be your friend that's sitting next to you here
21:03at the panel, play games, whatnot,
21:13Get him from our world who's been transported into Japan.
21:43So, having all the specs ready to audition for Drew, John comes in, and we had a lot of people
21:53come in for this audition process, but some things that really stood out with John was, you know, the character
22:03respect that I had in my head.
22:06He had the right energy, the right tone, the right sort of lifeliness, and also that humor that you brought
22:13to us and on the mocap floor.
22:17And, you know, someone in his early 20s that if he's faced with any sort of danger or risks or
22:24anything, that you're going to face those with a certain level of courage and guts and sort of fight.
22:31So, you really keep Keith with kind of the perfect package for us.
22:36And so, it was really no question that I was going to have John play for him.
22:41So, it was really funny when we do these auditions, we code in everything.
22:45Like, he's not reading to Drew, he's reading for like hair.
22:48Yeah, I was thinking for John.
22:50Yeah, John.
22:50I was like, they were made his whole thing.
22:52So, but the funniest thing is your first audition, I don't know if you remember this, but you were auditioning.
22:59And like, he tried to do it really on the sly.
23:01Like, he walked up to our director and he was like, hey, is this a scale lab?
23:08And, like, tried to do it on the sly so he didn't notice.
23:11And literally the first thing that she did was she came over to us and she was like, no, is
23:14this a scale lab?
23:15Is that okay?
23:19So, you might have snuck your way into a job by being a sly like that.
23:23Or being a gamer.
23:26I love games.
23:28John, I want to ask you a quick question.
23:30I'm going to get the Q&A in about five minutes.
23:32Sure.
23:32You know, you said you wanted to go after an audition and do an audition.
23:35But all of it, you know, we started off to see a few photos that were mo-cap.
23:39Did you think that that was part of it?
23:40Or did you think that other actors did it?
23:41Or were you all in to do everything?
23:43Well, when I did the audition, they had me do a lot of crazy stuff.
23:49Like, I had to play with a sword.
23:50I had to run.
23:51I had to jump.
23:51I had to deep in roll and crash.
23:54And they're like, okay, here's a sword.
23:57Swing a sword like you don't know what it is.
23:59And then, oh, here's a really, really heavy sword.
24:02I'm not a big guy.
24:03And I think they, like, loaded that sword.
24:06So I couldn't swing it.
24:10I couldn't swing it.
24:11Yeah, I didn't.
24:13I'm sorry.
24:14That was the awkward interpretation clause.
24:17You said, you can't swing it.
24:19No, I don't.
24:20Can't be a fool.
24:21That's like, you can't get attention.
24:24I feel like it's so good.
24:40Sì.
24:42Si.
24:42Si.
24:42Si.
24:43Si.
24:43Si.
24:46Sì.
24:55Sì.
24:56Sì.
24:57Sì.
24:58Sì.
25:00Sì.
25:00Sì.
25:02Sì.
25:03Sì.
25:04quindi è un no brainer.
25:07I've actually got a question for Hinabasan,
25:10because I just realized it.
25:13Today is actually the first day that Hinabasan has ever met John,
25:16and he's been thinking about scale now forever,
25:20and you know we've been working on this so long.
25:23How much do you think John is actually like growing up?
25:34We're in untrue territory now.
25:36We're going on this.
25:38Ah, yeah.
25:40No, I didn't have a dream in 10 years ago.
25:43However, the dream of the dream of the dream of the dream is
25:46the dream of the dream of the dream.
25:50Okay, so well of course 10 years ago you probably didn't know
25:54what dream was going to be like,
25:55but through Kamiya I sort of inherited my image of who Drew is,
26:02what he's like, and so yes I met him for the first time today,
26:07maybe about an hour and a half ago, two hours ago,
26:10but he is exactly the Drew that I had in mind.
26:13It's almost like pulling Drew out of the screen
26:15and like giving him real life to Drew.
26:43and he's like, whoop whoop whoop whoop.
26:49isn't he?
26:52Alright, well we've got, we've only got about 15 minutes left here in this room,
26:56so we want to leave the last 15 minutes for Q&A.
26:59so if you have some questions and you can just head over to the microphone from the left of the
27:03right of the room here.
27:04I just remind everybody while they're getting set up there that following this panel,
27:08we're going to go back into the room right next door in the queue room,
27:10and we're going to have autograph signings over there with posters,
27:13so make sure you join us over there.
27:15We also have these T-shirts to the right of the teachers.
27:19Alright, we're going to start over here on the left.
27:22If you could say your name and speak right into the microphone real close and get your question.
27:26Hi, my name is Vaughn.
27:28I have a question about the multiplayer co-op that was T in the trailer there.
27:33I was just wondering, is there a story based on how the co-op works that you have described
27:39for coming up?
27:52So, this is a place where I know where the controls and capabilities of the schwerwie doesn't it.
27:59This is an image I see,
28:01so it looks like the boss on the extreme corner.

28:36in a very short form, yes, that moment happened as you entered the dungeon and before, right
28:43in front of the boss, but that doesn't mean that the co-op is restricted to, let's say,
28:48a box battle or that that's the only time you get to co-op or partner up with your friends.
28:54There's a lot more to it that we can't go into just yet, however, from a narrative standpoint,
29:01as I said in the very beginning, Dru has been transported into this world in a very
29:06mysterious sort of manner, and T'Van is also the last dragon to live in the world of Draconis.
29:14So there must be some sort of meaning behind why multiple dragons and multiple sort of other
29:20Druids have now joined you or there's a possibility to join you.
29:24So it is all sort of interwoven into the narrative.
29:28Thank you very much.
29:29All right, thank you.
29:30Next question over here.
29:31Hey, I'm Austin, and I have a question.
29:35Last year, you, or two years ago, you chose a children's book that was, you got the concept
29:44for Runful 101 where you would team up, like hundreds of fish would team up to feed a giant
29:49fish.
29:50I wonder if you had any influences with like a giant figure and a child, like kind of anything
29:58from your child that made you think of that?
30:19Well, as a Japanese, Ultraman for sure, and Godzilla for sure.
30:35So yeah, over the past couple years, Platinum has been very well known for their hack and
30:42slash games, and like considering of like how much of a different game scale band is seeming
30:48to be built around.
30:50What are some of the challenges of making a game that's like kind of a breath of fresh air
30:56for Platinum games?
31:05I wish that this is a challenge, but I think we have to think about that.
31:14This is a challenge, and what are some of the challenges that we see here today?
31:15So I think we're going to start coaching the game, and I think we really have this company
31:40i ragazzi, i ragazzi,
31:42sono una nuova.
31:45Ma invece, i ragazzi,
31:47ma più che i ragazzi,
31:47i ragazzi,
31:48come back to the world.
31:51So, earlier I said that
31:54Action RPG
31:55is a brand new challenge for the studio
31:58as a whole for climate games
31:59but me personally
32:01every single game has
32:03been a challenge in terms of
32:05creation. And I know that
32:07in a lot of people's minds, like Ben
32:09and Edda is very fresh
32:11in their public memory and so
32:13even the years in the past, Devilman
32:15Cry is the one that usually comes up
32:17next. But if you really look
32:19back into the history of all the games I've worked
32:21on, Resident Evil 2,
32:23Okami, those are not your typical
32:25like Ben and Edda and No One Cry
32:27sort of formulated games. And so
32:28in that sense, every game has been
32:31a brand new challenge for me and
32:33like you said, putting in a
32:37breath of fresh air
32:39applies to every single game.
32:41But in terms of visual
32:42sort of expression and presentation
32:45obviously with scale now going
32:46along the poor realistic route
32:48is a challenge for me to try to
32:50bring that vision to life.
32:53But not necessarily being doing
32:54the head of thumb work. It's really my team
32:56who's had to go through a lot of new
32:58learnings to make that
33:00come alive.
33:02Thank you.
33:04Question right over here.
33:05Hi there.
33:05Hi, my name is Josh.
33:07Blackwood's always had a way of
33:08having some of the best soundtracks.
33:11Metal Gear Rising Revenge
33:12and it's charactering through some of my
33:14favorite soundtracks.
33:15How does, um,
33:17what is the process that
33:18Platinum uses to go through and determine
33:20what music they put in,
33:22where they put in,
33:22how it fits into the world?
33:23and it's like,
33:28have you.
33:33Hey,
33:34let's try to show you
33:36how it fits in.
33:39This is a hard work for you.
33:42Right.
33:43I want to give a voice for you,
33:45to the crowd.
33:47e anche io ero

34:15So, really, he was mumbling at the beginning, he was like, hmmm, it's really just me wanting what I want
34:22to put in this.
34:27But one fact for a scale amount is that for Wonderful 101, for the first time I worked with Kurokawa
34:35-san, Kurokawa-shitomi, a she, you know, staff member.
34:39And she's so fatigued, but what she brings to the table is so powerful, and so I have sort of
34:49forced her to join the Scalebound team.
34:52She was working on a different project, but now she's providing everything that you've heard so far today.
34:58It's really her work, and so I'm looking forward to a lot more of her powerful sort of abilities and
35:06work for Scalebound.
35:09The license music, though, is really process-wise, is very similar to what we're doing, what we did with Rising
35:17and with Anarchy Ring.
35:19So, you want people to experience through his character, also through music, and so the songs that are on set
35:26when he's fighting are about getting you into the same mental space as he's in it, and music is a
35:33really good tool to do that.
35:34So, we've been working with a team that picked the soundtrack for Forza Horizon, and by the way, I've seen
35:41the NXV and the NXV sweatshirt there.
35:44And those guys have been awesome.
35:46Basically, we're just listening to tons of music, and it's pretty similar to what we did on Anarchy Ring's Horizon.
35:52actually, we just go record diving.
35:54I used to be DBA, and I love just rapping to composers, and we'll go record diving and tons of
35:59stuff, and sit around in the room, and listen to maybe 50 or 60 tracks.
36:02We've got a new batch to go through, and we can get back to Japan, and stuff.
36:06But, yeah, so that's how the iPhone was designed to be, and it's really similar to what we did on
36:11those games.
36:12Thank you.
36:12Thank you.
36:13Hi there.
36:14Hi, I'm Adil.
36:15A little bit closer, please.
36:16Okay, I'm Adil.
36:17Um, you totally stole my question.
36:19So, um, my bad question is, if Inaba, John, and Tamiya, and I guess the three of you also, if
36:27you guys all got into a fight, who would win?
36:33Yeah, I guess it was so wrong, it just broke out like that.
36:38Well, I had a tennis band, so.
36:42There you go.
36:48So, I said, well, you know, I was a kid, so I'm going to go for your house.
36:52So, I said, well, I was a kid, so I'm going to go for your house.
36:53I've seen Inaba something bad, so I'm going to go for Inaba something bad.
36:58Okay, so, one book for Inaba something from JPGQ.
37:01I never thought of this one.
37:02Oh, okay.
37:04Like, yeah, I agree.
37:05Yeah.
37:07I have been through it today.
37:08And Kamiya said, oh, this very small, very polite voice.
37:12He's like, you know what, I am not young anymore, so I think I'm going to have to give it
37:15to the young one here.
37:18Alright.
37:20Thank you.
37:21Right over here, thank you.
37:22Uh, hi, my name is Riley, and uh, in the demo you showed us,
37:27we saw the dragon, and you wanted to show us a kind of flying.
37:32We got kind of, I'm going to make myself look like insane palpeteries or something.
37:36Uh, he's kind of just like flapping his wings and hovering.
37:39But in the opening of the original video you showed us, we saw him like diving through branches,
37:45like leaping through the trees.
37:47I was wondering if, uh, we get to do more with flying.
37:51Like, you know, the faster kind of flying.
37:53I don't know how large the world is, or, like, whatever.
37:56That imperial armor, those dudes that you were fighting,
37:59are kind of detaining wildlife to, like, fly and not have dog bites in the air.
38:04Suggestion.
38:07But, I was just wondering what exactly do we get to do with flying besides explore at a possibly faster
38:15rate than what we just have to do?
38:17So I'm gonna be kind of a part of it, uh, so I have been thinking about, um, yes.
38:23Well… so, uh, so it's a, uh, you know, a platform, uh, uh, um, and, uh, you know, uh, uh,
38:31um, uh, that's pretty cool.
38:32Um, so, uh, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh.
38:43So, on the ground at the studio, we have already experimented with DuBan's flying speed at
38:51topping about 200 kilometers an hour, which is very fast.
38:57And so, even if we are able to have you sort of move or fly as fast, it's really more
39:04a
39:04matter of making sure that the world supports it.
39:07So, I think that, not the headache, but the headache is really more on how large can you
39:13really get this world to be.
39:15And it is already quite large, so we are definitely experimenting how you can enjoy more of this
39:23your average scale.
39:25Thank you.
39:25Thank you.
39:26Right over here.
39:27Hi, my name is Corey.
39:29I just wanted to ask if you were talking about how many people can actually play in multiplayer
39:34and if there is a possibility of a, like, demon attack between, like, 1, 2 or even 3.
39:39Hmm.
39:41Hmm.
39:45Hmm.
39:45Hmm.
39:48Hmm.
39:50Hmm.
39:53Hmm.
39:59Hmm.
40:00Hmm.
40:01Hmm.
40:06Please follow me.
40:08I, I'm very best in this.
40:11You're asking for tough questions that I don't need to be surrounded.
40:14Um, so we, um, we announced the game's compound.
40:17We're gonna do 4 player co-op.
40:19Um, so it's 4 players plus a franchise.
40:21e quindi ci sono state delle parti in campo
40:24e quindi ci sono i confronti

40:48Sì, sì, I had to check in with JP really quick because I know way too much about the game
40:53and I don't know how to stop.
40:56I'll go right over here, please.
40:57Hi, first of all, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the games you've made as
41:02a developer.
41:02It's really inspiring because, you know, folks are fun and just like the super high level of quality is really
41:09inspiring for me as a developer.
41:11Thank you for that. I was actually just wondering though, typically Platinum games are relatively linear level based and stuff
41:20like that.
41:21And so, from what I can tell, is this going to be open world or is it going to be
41:25more kind of, you know, like zone based?
41:28Have you guys announced that? Is it going to be like a Skyrim-esque world? What are we doing then?
41:41Hi, I'm going to talk to you and you can't wait for me to be open world.
41:48shi.
41:48I'm kind of a little nervous.
41:53Well, oi. oi. oi. oi. break.
41:54Well, oi. oi. oi. oi. break.
42:49or what they knew about or what their favorite open world game did, so I just prefer not to say
42:54yes, you know, it's an open world game, no it's not an open world game, however, if you were to
43:00just, an easy comparison out of my games, it's like, it's not going to be your bandana type structure where
43:06you stage clear and quote to the next and next and next, as I said, again, emphasizing the vast world
43:11of Draconis, you are free to explore a lot of these areas that we've developed into this world,
43:18so you may go out and explore and come back, sort of, come back to the base storyline, there's a
43:25very strong deep foundation for this very strong narrative, a whole bond and partnership between Jerome and Devon, so you
43:33will be free to explore every corner of the world.
43:38Thank you.
43:39Thank you.
43:39All right, we have time for one more question, and we're going to move next door, if you have any
43:42additional questions to go, then I'll pass them in there, go ahead, right here.
43:45Hi, this is Chris, and even since that, as I was listening to you with Sherry Birkin, do you always
43:50put children in your games?
43:51That's the main public storyline, are there going to be children in this game, and why do you happen to
43:56put children in a lot of your games?
44:08Thanks.
44:29Maybe not in the beginning.
44:32Maybe not in the beginning.
44:34No.
44:37No.
44:38No.
44:38No.
44:38Okay.
44:40Well, we could have several people who had got back.
44:42Well, yes, I would think of the characters where you can see that and see it all as well.
44:53We could have a lot of characters.
44:56Grazie.
45:29All right, I think that's a good place to end it.
45:33hydraulic glare, all right!
