A visually impaired perfumer in Taiwan has created a sweet fragrance inspired by the country's suncakes.

00:06has made its debut at Scent Taipei 2026, Taiwan's first professional fragrance trade show.
00:12The creator behind the scent, Take a Bite of Sun, is 52-year-old Liu Zhenxiang.
00:18She is the first visually impaired perfumer to have trained at the Gross Institute of Perfumery in France.
00:40To create the scent, Liu blends Taiwanese botanicals to recreate the warm toasted sweetness of sun cakes.
01:08Liu also supports people in her community.
01:12In 2024, she founded Asia's first internationally recognized perfumery, led by visually impaired people.
01:18Along with many others in the visually impaired community, Liu also works as a massage therapist and instructor.
01:37Now, through the power of scent, Liu is opening doors for visually impaired people, turning challenges into new possibilities.
01:59And through fragrance, Liu hopes to continue to capture the scents of Taiwan and share them with the world.
