00:00Let's begin with Mike Florio, who talked about why the LA Rams may have been scared off of A.J.
00:06Brown. May also be why the New England Patriots may not be willing to give up a ton of draft
00:10capital for A.J. Brown. Here was Mike Florio talking about that. They got scared off by some
00:17of the, as I'm told, preliminary medical research. They decided too much of an investment for a
00:24player at this age, general wear and tear. You know, we're not going to do it, but they
00:30were lining it all up. So if they get A.J. Brown, they trade Devontae Adams. They were looking
00:36for trade partners. Okay. So not that there's a significant, I'm guessing not a significant
00:43injury, but it's a wear and tear thing. And so may not be worth the first rounder that
00:51you're going to give up for him. And I'm not exactly sure the reasoning behind it, but
00:55when you look at A.J. Brown's kind of games played over his career, he's really missed
01:00like two or three games almost in every season. Not exactly everything. I think like two years
01:06ago, he didn't miss a single game, but outside of that, he generally plays like 14 games, 13
01:11games, 15 games. He never plays the full 17 slate. Would you be scared off? I mean, I
01:17wouldn't. From a wear and tear point of view? Nah, I wouldn't. I mean, it gives the Patriots
01:22more leverage, I guess. Well, no, I don't think the Patriots have any leverage in this
01:25situation because of the Jalen Waddell situation. You know, you look at Jalen Waddell's situation,
01:30what he went for, that's what the market is. Not if there's nobody else competing. Well,
01:36I would say this, then Philly would probably hold on to him. But he just asked for a trade
01:41yesterday. Literally yesterday, him and his team said, I need a trade. I went on Philly
01:46radio and said, I'm out. Yeah, he wants. Well, Schefter said it, right? Well, he went
01:49on with Sean Kincaid. I saw a video of him calling in there. The timing of it makes me
01:55wonder if it's someone from his camp or, I mean, it sounds confusing because it's like
02:03you don't want it out there that you have some kind of degenerative knee condition. But
02:07if you're trying to get like the price to come down and you think that the Patriots
02:12and the Eagles are going to be stuck at this point where the Patriots aren't going to give
02:16up the draft capital to move, like is somebody leaking this information and trying to bring
02:21the price down? So he'll just freaking move because it's so clear that he doesn't want
02:25to be in Philly. So you're saying his people are kind of saying, oh, he could be there.
02:29It feels crazy because like, why would they put out there that he has a knee thing?
02:33But they're saying wear and tear, like, you know, so just meaning like he's played a lot
02:36of reps, right? And so when you start to look at that, it's not like the Max Crosby situation
02:42where they're like, okay, he could have a degenerative knee issue that could affect him
02:47in the future. It's more of like a lot of reps, wear and tear.
02:50But then why would the Rams back out? Like if they're looking at it and saying we don't
02:55want him because we don't trust that he's going to be available or as productive as he has
02:59been in the past because of the, I'm guessing the knee, because that's always been around,
03:04even though he, to Shyam's point, he doesn't miss time.
03:06I would be shocked if he doesn't go for what Jalen Waddle went for. I would be absolutely
03:11shocked.
03:11A texter says Waddle is better than AJ Brown, younger than AJ Brown, cheaper than AJ Brown.
03:18He's a year younger and has had back-to-back non-thousand-yard seasons. AJ Brown has had one
03:24season in his seven-year career without a thousand yards.
03:27Yeah. So, I mean, and he only played 13 games.
03:30Right. And I would be, I don't think anybody in the NFL or anybody in the football world
03:36thinks Jalen Waddle is better than AJ Brown, other than that one texter.
03:40Now, I will say Meggo's right where this has been a thing with AJ Brown. The knee has been
03:44brought up before.
03:46Definitely.
03:47So, I don't know. Maybe it's somebody, you're right. Maybe it's somebody using it.
03:52For all I know, it's the Patriots throwing it out there as an explanation for why they're
03:56not going to get, they're not going to get AJ Brown because they don't want to pay for
04:00him. I don't know.
04:01They're just trying to bring the price down by saying like, hey, he isn't, and by the
04:07price, I don't mean, I mean contract. I mean, draft capital.
04:09The capital. Right. I get that.
04:11I don't think Howie Roseman is a guy that's going to get fooled for this kind of stuff.
04:13Yeah.
04:14I feel like it's just sort of wasting time.
04:15That's all it is. It's all it is. And I agree with you, Curtis. It's like, we know,
04:19and, and you can keep, you bring it up, but it's all right. When a market is generally
04:23set, the NFL knows about it. And you know, the Philadelphia Eagles, they're not going
04:28to go, oh, okay. Cause this report came out, New England. Guess what? We'll take your second
04:32round draft pick.
04:33Yeah.
