00:00And Glenn, Iran also says a nuclear facility was now struck, even without damage.
00:06We're still entering dangerous territory here.
00:09The IAEA is calling for maximum restraint to avoid what they say could be a radiological disaster.
00:17They say if the Boucher reactor were hit, it could cause fallout affecting neighboring countries.
00:22So how serious is this risk?
00:25Well, it's very serious.
00:27I think for many reasons.
00:29The U.S. and Israel could be tempted at causing such a nuclear disaster.
00:34For one, it would fall under the objective of undermining the nuclear program of Iran, even if it's civilian.
00:43It's also something that Trump could hail as a victory.
00:47It's also something that will create a lot of devastation for Iran, which they might see as a way to
00:55compel Iran to capitulate.
00:57It essentially could become like a mini nuclear attack by essentially having a similar nuclear fallout.
01:04So I think, yeah, this is very dangerous.
01:07If this would actually happen, that is a nuclear contamination.
01:11I do think that this would open up to a very extreme Iranian retaliation and which they would also let
01:20go of any restraint.
01:22And well, regarding the Boucher nuclear plant, though, it has a further complication.
01:26That is that it hosts, I think, somewhere around 480 Russian employees from Rosatom.
01:32So if the U.S. also ends up murdering hundreds of Russian nuclear workers, then, of course, this can have
01:42profound ramification on the great power rivalry.
01:47And the Russians would also see it as necessary to respond in some way to such a direct attack.
01:53So it's extremely dangerous, but of course, on more than one level.
01:57So this kind of shows the danger of war like this when neither side can back down and they just
02:04continue to rush up the escalation ladder with no escalation control at all.
