00:00Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel.
00:02In this video I will be showing you how I roofed my tiny cabin.
00:06I will show you all the stages including adding a moisture barrier.
00:09In the previous video I showed how I made the frame of the cabin.
00:13I have added the link in the description.
00:15Please check it out anytime.
00:18For this job you will need a drill, tin snips, a hammer, a circular saw or hand saw, a tape
00:29measure and nails.
00:32I used a 4 feet by 8 feet plywood with 5 eighths thickness.
00:36And 2 inch nails.
00:39It was important that I add 2 feet timber pieces in between rafters before I roofed, so that
00:44working on the interior can be easy.
00:46I placed the plywood like this and left some space on the rafter so that I have where to
00:51nail the next plywood.
00:55After adding the plywood I added tar paper as the moisture barrier.
00:59Then lastly I added the iron sheets.
01:03I left 3 inches into the gutter and 2 inches from the nailing point.
01:09I screwed the nails next to the overlap for a tight finish.
01:12I left 2 feet and a half from each nail.
01:15I used a drill and metal bit to create a small hole before I screwed in the nail with a
01:20hexagon
01:20bit.
01:29Please don't forget to overlap the sheets properly to prevent future licks.
01:40For the ridge cap, I used butyl tape as the sealant before I added the foam closure.
01:45I used 2 inch roofing screw nails for the ridge cap.
01:48I would highly recommend using a sealant even though some foam closures come with pre-applied
01:53sealant.
01:57Thank you very much for watching till the end.
02:00Please let me know what you'd like me to work on to help you build your tiny house.
02:04Hoping to see you in the next video.
02:06Take care.
