A lost kayaker who spent the night in waters north of Adelaide has been rescued. The 73-year-old said he'd been paddling off Middle Beach, a trip he's made "about a thousand times" before, when he got disoriented on Tuesday evening.

00:38No, I didn't panic, I was alright. I've seen a rescue helicopter sometime in the night and they missed me.
00:46Rescuers located him on a sandbank at about 8.30 this morning.
00:50He was actually quite well, so fortunately being so well we were able to land on a bank and actually
00:54getting to walk across to the aircraft and climb in.
00:55With paramedics giving him the all clear.
00:58He's in good spirits. He's had a fairly decent ordeal, but he's done quite well.
