00:00Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:05All right, it's time for the crossover brought to you by Bay Alarm.
00:08Rest easy, we've got you covered.
00:11And also, coming up in a few minutes, we're giving away our first spot,
00:15first of two today in our knockout tournament presented by Beam Law
00:18because it's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get back out.
00:21Beam Law, they've got your back, Bay Area.
00:24All right, Evan Giddings in for Matt Steinmetz, Jolly Guru Johnson,
00:26Mark Willard, Dan Dibley.
00:27What's up, guys?
00:28The guys.
00:28Yeah.
00:29How we doing?
00:31You don't really want to know for me.
00:33Yeah, good for all of us.
00:34Because I did the fake game show.
00:36We started off on the wrong foot today.
00:37We started off on this morning, the first five.
00:39And, Dibs, I had three kids in three years.
00:41I got a two-hour commute.
00:43I'm not into the – what happened to – I didn't see it.
00:47But my references for movies and all that stuff, we do it.
00:51Revenge, like Kevin Costner.
00:52That's my – and today I didn't know anything.
00:56And I'm mad.
00:57But I don't know who the blame is.
00:59Don't be mad at yourself.
01:00I can't remember.
01:01I'm my kid.
01:01I can't remember anything.
01:03And a lot of them don't want – you know what I mean?
01:05Shasky, I love you, but yeah.
01:06I was around this morning and Shasky was talking about how Dwight Clark
01:10ended up being an exec with the Cleveland Browns.
01:14And he'll say stuff, and I'm like, oh, yeah, that's right.
01:18But if you would ask me that in real time, like, where did Dwight Clark –
01:21I was part of that.
01:23I call it their him and Bonte, the Rain Man stuff.
01:25You two did.
01:26Some people's brains work that way, and some people don't.
01:29Nelly Furtado – what was her name?
01:32Nelly?
01:32Nelly Furtado.
01:34She had a lyric in the song from Miss who was called Game MVP Like Steve Nash.
01:39So Steve Nash won the MVP.
01:40Could have come out in two years, 05 or 06.
01:43That's why I think Spadoni was able to get that guess.
01:46Yeah, you never know.
01:47I get overzealous, man.
01:48I just go dark.
01:50Yeah, get shot down because you're overzealous.
01:52You know, that's a young MC.
01:54That's another reference.
01:55That's a four.
01:55Yesterday we had D'Anthony Melton on the show, and we did a whole thing about,
01:59like, you know, D'Melt, and we did the big finish.
02:02And we found out that he is currently in a – not a rewatch,
02:05but a first watch of The Sopranos.
02:08And so –
02:09What did he say about that?
02:10Well, my question was, what's Tony up to?
02:13Spoiler alert first, yeah.
02:14Spoiler alert.
02:15Well, because the last episode was 19 years ago.
02:17Yeah.
02:17So he was hesitant to be like, oh, I'm going to tell you, like, ah, ah.
02:20Okay, all right.
02:21But he's not even all the way through it, and he's like, ah,
02:23Tony's having trouble with his kids, and, I mean, his son and his daughter,
02:27they're kind of, like, on to what he does and this and that.
02:30And I'm like, you're the best, D'Anthony.
02:33You're not trying to spoil the show 19 years later.
02:36Why did Pussy snitch?
02:37Like, that bothered me how he went out.
02:40That was my guy.
02:41No doubt.
02:41What's the greatest show you've never seen?
02:44Because Sopranos –
02:46You haven't seen it?
02:47That's my show.
02:48I can beat you.
02:50I mean –
02:51Everyone tells me it's the greatest thing in the world.
02:53Never seen it.
02:53You haven't seen Entourage either, and I'm mad at you.
02:57No, I haven't.
02:57Wait for it.
02:59I've seen none of them.
03:02Whitney Houston.
03:03None of them.
03:04I saw nothing.
03:05Nothing.
03:06So do Sopranos.
03:08Do Entourage.
03:09Do Breaking Bad.
03:10Do Game of Thrones.
03:11Do The Wire.
03:12And keep going.
03:14I've seen none of them.
03:16Ever.
03:17I have not seen a full episode of any of them.
03:19I can't take my friendship from you, but I can't because you're a great dad.
03:23But Breaking Bad for me, but the others will.
03:27I just –
03:27I like –
03:28You didn't like the movie we recommended.
03:30Well, there's not.
03:31You know, I'm just telling you.
03:32It's not –
03:33I don't.
03:34Oh, and that's it.
03:35It's why when I listen to you talk –
03:38Now I understand.
03:39I don't understand how people –
03:42I don't understand how people have the time to do what they do.
03:45When someone says binge watch to me –
03:46That's a little different.
03:47No, when someone's like, oh, I binge.
03:49I'm like –
03:50All Saturday.
03:51I don't get it.
03:53I don't –
03:54Well, I'm empty nester.
03:55I have never understood how to achieve the binge.
03:59I've tried, but there's too many things going on.
04:03And if I do ever get to that moment, gone.
04:06Asleep.
04:07Out.
04:08Try to sit down and watch something.
04:10Someone to your kids are grown and gone.
04:12Maybe.
04:12And then I'll double back.
04:13Maybe.
04:13Yeah, but maybe –
04:14And that's why I actually don't think it's the worst thing because –
04:17Wow.
04:17At some point, you're going to have a lot of time on your hands.
04:20It's coming.
04:20And at some point, there's going to be a lot of shows.
04:23I don't know when, but there's going to be a time where you just –
04:26Like, you know what?
04:26I don't know what to do.
04:28Hell.
04:28Let's start Breaking Bad because I've never seen it before.
04:31I mean –
04:32The funny thing is, is these things are so iconic, I sort of feel like –
04:35But the Sopranos, like, whoa.
04:36I know, but I feel like I've seen them.
04:38All right.
04:38I know the stories.
04:40I know what's happened because I speak to other human beings on planet Earth.
04:44Right, right.
04:44But also, they get – some of them get intimidating.
04:47I remember Game of Thrones.
04:49At one point, I was like, all right, I'm going to do this.
04:54Okay, here we go.
04:54But then people were like, no, you have to start at the beginning.
04:59Oh, my gosh.
05:00For sure.
05:00I'm not season one.
05:01Yeah, you do.
05:02Episode one days.
05:02Dude, the opening scene, a couple of Lannisters are doing the dirty.
05:07I will.
05:08Brother and sister.
05:09I will.
05:10Old school.
05:10I will commit.
05:11Really old school.
05:12I mean, I will commit to my woman.
05:15I will not commit to eight seasons.
05:18Wow.
05:18I can't, like, I'll never –
05:20And the spinoff now.
05:20I'll never get there.
05:22House of Dragons.
05:22There's no chance.
05:24Yeah, so I had a job maybe about 12 years ago during my underemployed era.
05:29And I worked on Sundays, and my only job was every 12 minutes to do a 90-second report on
05:36Bloomberg Radio.
05:37So in between, it was Game of Thrones.
05:40So I'd watch 11 minutes of the episode, hit pause, and do, like, 60 seconds of news, 30 seconds of
05:45traffic, and a little bit of sports.
05:47Yeah, and then the report would be over.
05:49You hit your out cue, and then boom, right back to it.
05:52Yeah, like, Game of Thrones was one, and I don't know if they have a ton of them now, but
05:55I remember it was one of the few shows that everyone would get together to watch.
06:00And you don't do it a ton now because it's all streaming.
06:03And I know Game of Thrones was too, but it would come out every Sunday at 7 or whatever, 8
06:06o'clock, whatever.
06:07And so it was the first show that I remember with a bunch of friends, everyone being on the same
06:11page, to go watch and then discuss after.
06:15So that's what got me into that show.
06:16Wow.
06:16I can't speak for the rest of them, but, I mean, I've seen The Wire.
06:20I actually had to watch that for a class.
06:21That's probably what got me into it.
06:22But Sopranos, Entourage, Breaking Bad.
06:26Vincent Chase, Entourage.
06:28I watched a lot of movies.
06:29I don't watch TV shows.
06:30Are he goals?
06:30I used to be like you.
06:32I used to, in, like, high school and college, I used to host Twin Peaks watch parties.
06:37Wow.
06:38So maybe you and Ian so happy.
06:40I really appreciate you, Evan, for acting like you know what the hell that is.
06:45But, I mean.
06:46It's about 20 minutes north.
06:49Sorry, West.
06:50Anyway.
06:51Point is, it just.
06:52So you've never seen Ozark?
06:54Like, during the pandemic?
06:56Not even close.
06:57Tiger King?
06:59That one I actively avoided on purpose.
07:02Oh, God.
07:03That is.
07:04No, I avoided.
07:05That was a COVID home run.
07:06Yeah, I know.
07:07No, see, I watched The Last Dance, and then people.
07:10That's when we were doing COVID radio from my house, which was hell on Earth.
07:15And people would call and text, and they'd be like, you've got to see Tiger King.
07:19And I'd be like, okay, why?
07:20And then they would describe the most awful human beings on planet Earth doing the most
07:26awful things to one another.
07:27And I'm like, why do I want to watch that?
07:30I decided Tiger King people were the same people that offer you the curdled milk when
07:36they smell it.
07:37And they're like, ooh, that's bad.
07:39Here, taste it.
07:40I'm like, no, you just said that it's got bubbles in it.
07:44So that's what I'm, no, I don't have no interest in Tiger King.
07:48Oh, that was so good.
07:49There are a lot of clues right now to probably tomorrow's question.
07:52But today, we hope you're listening all week.
07:55Again, two spots to cross, uh, to our knockout tournament.
07:59Bitty bitty bop.
08:00Yeah, I'm out.
08:02This was the first question today that Lucas wrote.
08:05I'm all over the place.
08:07Dibbs told us on yesterday's crossover that he got to go to camp for free for six weeks
08:13every summer when he was growing up.
08:16What sport was the summer camp for?
08:19First caller to the contest line with the correct answer wins a spot in knockout.
08:23415-523-4652.
08:25First caller with the correct answer wins 415-523-4652.
08:29Do you guys ever play this game and feel like you start to question your own listening habits?
08:34Because, like, you'll ask a question and you're like, that's a tough one.
08:38I don't remember that.
08:39And I'm not sure I know the answer.
08:41I think I do.
08:42Yeah.
08:42But I'm not sure.
08:43Evan, do you know?
08:44And I was here.
08:45Well, I have the answer.
08:46You do.
08:47As I was reading it, I was like, oh, I don't know if I do.
08:50The camp, uh, the camp was phenomenal.
08:53And it's not the camp's fault that I got no better.
08:56I'll just say that.
08:57Like, the camp was a 10 out of 10, if not greater than that.
09:01And I was coached by people who went on to coach, uh, college and, like, Hall of Famers
09:07and all the rest of it.
09:07It was not the camp's fault that I still stunk at the end of six weeks, 12 weeks, five years.
09:14It was a me problem.
09:16Well, some things you play and you just never get better at.
09:20Other things I think were kind of forced into playing, whether it's by age or by, you know,
09:25your family or your friends.
09:27And that's why I think that Goo is moving more towards, maybe you guys can help him, golf.
09:33Oh, yeah.
09:34Because you want to get fitted.
09:36And I'm buying my own clubs, fitted.
09:38Because when I went with Stiney and he took my golf virginity, I had to use his clubs.
09:43And when I go to bat, you guys remember I hit the home run at the company softball game?
09:46Yeah.
09:47I mean, I use a 34.
09:48But if I went up there with something smaller, I could tell.
09:52And I feel that day.
09:53I think about it a lot.
09:54He was great.
09:54It was awkward.
09:55So I'm going to treat myself to $1,000 my limit to try to get my clubs fitted for me.
10:03One piece, not of advice, but I'd like you to go get some advice from somebody who can
10:08really give you advice.
10:09You said it.
10:11Like, the thing about getting fitted when you're still just starting to learn, well, your swing's
10:17going to change.
10:18Your swing's going to change.
10:19So I would be careful about getting fitted right out the gate.
10:23So what do I do with what, in the meantime, as my swing is fluctuating?
10:28I've got a set of irons at home.
10:30I would do a heavy down.
10:31I mean, I've got a set of irons that they probably will fit you close enough.
10:36And it'll fit you to the point where you can just go out there and swing and hack and learn.
10:40And I've got eight clubs.
10:42And you can have them on the arm for free.
10:44So when do you know I'm ready to get fitted?
10:46You know, when do I say I'm ready?
10:47Now I can go get mine.
10:49You'll know.
10:50I mean, you'll maybe take a lesson or two when you're hitting, you know.
10:55Somebody called in and said, take a lesson for free.
10:57You ain't doing it.
10:58When you can get through a round.
11:01Once you're not ever worried about whether or not you're actually going to hit the ball.
11:05Okay.
11:06Wow.
11:06You know what I mean?
11:07I'll be a real one.
11:08Good call.
11:09Because getting fitted is, I mean, a thousand bucks.
11:12That might be the low-ish end.
11:14I mean, depends on where you go and what you want to get.
11:16But, I mean, it's expensive.
11:18You don't go get a tux before you get a date.
11:20Right.
11:21And you don't buy your tux unless you're going to go to five formal events a year.
11:25So, and I used to work in a tux shop.
11:27And, you know, we would do rentals.
11:30It was Al's tux shop.
11:32And, I mean, the great, rest in peace, Al from Oklahoma.
11:36Dan, Dan, do me a favor.
11:37Head over to the warehouse.
11:38I need four shawl coats.
11:41I need a 42 regular, a 44 long.
11:44Call me when you get there.
11:45It was always call me when you get there.
11:46And so, I'm driving around in the 90s, like, no cell phones.
11:49And so, I'd go there and, you know, Dan, I need you to go pick up the eight shirts from
11:54the dry cleaners.
11:56Call me when you get there.
11:57So, tuxes are not cheap.
11:59Yeah.
11:59And now, you wouldn't buy a tux unless you knew you had, like, four or five or six, like, actual
12:04things coming up.
12:05Because a tux nowadays, if you want, Dan, I need a cummerbund, I need a bow tie, I need a
12:11houndstooth vest.
12:12Call me when you get there.
12:14You're looking at probably 3,500.
12:16That's a segment.
12:17I feel like there's a segment somewhere in there.
12:19Call me when you get there.
12:20Call me when you get there.
12:21It's phenomenal.
12:21And just a quick 30-second story.
12:23So, one day I'm doing earthquakes play-by-play, and I drive to San Jose, and I forgot my suit.
12:28I left it at home.
12:29And so, I was like, oh, Casey Schmitt.
12:32What do you do?
12:32What do you do, Goo?
12:33You call a local suit shop, and you say, hey, do you guys do suit rentals?
12:38And he says, yeah.
12:39So, I go in there, and I'm like, I need a suit.
12:41Here's my story, whatever.
12:43And I'm like, yeah, I used to work at a tux shop down in the valley.
12:46He's like, you know Al?
12:47I'm like, yeah.
12:48And so, we're talking about Al because he knew him, and he had passed away two years ago, and we're
12:53telling stories, and now I'm crying getting a suit.
12:56And it was one of those moments of pure serendipity where I never would have met this guy if I
13:02hadn't forgotten my suit, shout out the lettuce, back in Oakland.
13:05And so, yeah, it's one of those weird moments of life, you know?
13:09Serendipity, too.
13:10Yeah.
13:11Yeah.
13:11Call me when you get there.
13:12Well, all you need right now is something, because you're tall.
13:15Yeah.
13:15So, just all I want you to get is some clubs that don't make you bend over too much.
13:20See, and that's when I went with Stiney, I was wondering that bend over, how much of that was because
13:25the...
13:26Eh.
13:26I mean, Stiney's not like short guys, so like, you got it.
13:29But anyway, we could help.
13:31You got people around you who could help.
13:32Yeah.
13:32A lot of people.
13:33Yeah.
13:33What about Scott Hostler retiring?
13:35Ugh.
13:36That's crazy.
13:37Yeah.
13:38He's 78?
13:39Is that right?
13:39I grew up on him.
13:40We all did.
13:4132 years.
13:42And he still looks great.
13:4332 years.
13:43Yep.
13:44Yeah.
13:44Did you read his last column?
13:46Not yet.
13:47I'm kind of saving it for a private moment, because we talk about, like, Three Dots and Bon Motts
13:53and what he was known for, his big...
13:55Things I jotted down on my 8 to half by 11.
13:58His Sunday column was so great, and, you know, his L.A. run was also very prolific, so, yeah,
14:04it's the end of an era.
14:05He's such a good dude.
14:06Yeah, the best thing that can happen, I think, in moments like that is just take a look at
14:10at the people around him who knew him the best and worked with him, and I don't know
14:14how many...
14:15Everybody listening to us, if you follow stuff on social media, but, I mean, every single
14:21reporter and media person and team employee or whatever, the stuff that they've all kind
14:27of poured out about Scott...
14:29I just ran into Ann Killian over at the Giants open house thing, and it was one of the first
14:33things she said.
14:34She's like, I miss him already.
14:36Wow.
14:36And he's been what?
14:37He's been retired for, like, 48 hours.
14:39Yeah.
14:39Wow, he's a large man.
14:40So they, like, the people around him just said all of the absolute best, best stuff
14:45you can say about a person.
14:46And it just reminds you of, like, life in general, because if you're old enough to remember Dave
14:51Newhouse, who just passed away, and Carl Stewart, for those of you in the East Bay, and so you
14:56saw those tributes come out, you know, last week about their actual passing, and then Scott
15:00Osler retires, and so you think about, like, all of the goats from our childhood, Bruce Jenkins
15:06and Ray Rado, and all the rest of it, and it just makes you feel some kind of way.
15:11Yeah, no doubt.
15:11You're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGM, ZFM, and HD on San Francisco, and Odyssey Sports
15:16Station, always live on the free Odyssey app, and now broadcasting from the Laughing Monk
15:19Studios.
15:19Shout out to Colton in Pleasanton, who won our first knockout spot we're giving away today.
15:25As for trivia question number two, yesterday on the crossover, Willard said he'd pay $5 to
15:32myself and Guru if they took a selfie with a crab sandwich, garlic fries, and one other
15:40person.
15:41Who is that person who will are challenged, myself and Guru, Evan and Guru, to get a selfie
15:47with?
15:48That was intricate.
15:49You can pay us now.
15:50That was intricate.
15:51We got a date.
15:52I think it was more than $5, actually.
15:55No, it was.
15:56It was $5 because it's doable.
15:59I really, sometimes I do those things because I just want to encourage it to actually happen.
16:04I know what you do.
16:05I loved coming in this week and finding out that Priest actually showed up to be with Stani
16:09last week.
16:10He did?
16:10He did.
16:11He showed up.
16:11Oh, I got the picture.
16:12I didn't know that.
16:13I sent it to you guys.
16:14Oh, my God.
16:14I sent my gambling winnings to you two.
16:17Yeah, I forgot to send the pitch.
16:18Priest showed up in Palo Alto at the Elks Club.
16:20Can they take a picture, Bo smiling.
16:22He looks great.
16:23That was awesome.
16:24Oh, man.
16:25Oh, but now we know Priest.
16:26Yeah, that was awesome, man.
16:27I had no idea.
16:28I'm going to send it to you.
16:29That's so great.
16:30That's great.
16:31Yeah.
16:32If you think about what listener you would most want to meet, I mean, maybe that'd be
16:36a fun Rushmore.
16:37Austin is San Jose for me.
16:38And everybody second because I love them all, but Austin.
16:41For me, it's go to the hoop.
16:44I mean, go to the rack.
16:45Jan and Mountain View.
16:46Jan and Mountain View would be pretty good.
16:48Brian and Palo Alto.
16:49Go to the hoop.
16:50You know, go to the rack.
16:51Those two for sure.
16:53Austin and San Jose probably because I got multiple bones to pick with that individual.
16:58I don't think you would be so tough in person.
17:00That's a lot to do with it.
17:01And he and I, we've come to a certain amount of an agreement.
17:05I thought you were tough on him.
17:05Remember I told you.
17:05He was actually tough on me.
17:07You get no tougher on another person than what he did to me.
17:10Okay.
17:11But, you know, that's fine.
17:12I don't know about you, Willard.
17:13Like, anybody out there that you're thinking about?
17:15Well, some of them we've already met.
17:18You know what I mean?
17:18Like, Jonathan came to mind, but we met Jonathan.
17:21It's like you met Jay, huh?
17:22San Jose Jazz.
17:23We meet him.
17:24Thank you for taking my phone call.
17:26Exactly.
17:28That's good stuff.
17:30From the files of we keep forgetting everything.
17:33Yeah.
17:33I've been blanking on names a lot recently.
17:36You got a lot going on.
17:38Who's our girl in the East Bay?
17:41She's, gosh, Tish?
17:44No.
17:45Robin?
17:45Robin.
17:46Ah, there you go.
17:47Get your damn dog.
17:47No, she's from the city.
17:48San Francisco, I think, yeah.
17:49Oh, is she?
17:50Yeah, but still.
17:51She called us.
17:52She called us.
17:53I think that he's met Robin.
17:53I feel like I have met Robin.
17:55Well, we got a picture at the old ship pre-COVID.
17:59She pulled up on us.
18:00Yeah.
18:00Well, that's the thing that's cool is, you know,
18:02I do feel like a lot of people will make efforts to,
18:04if you extend an invitation, they're nice enough.
18:07And, you know, everyone's got their opinions
18:09and who they agree and disagree with.
18:10But I think if you meet most of these people in person,
18:12they're all normal.
18:13They're all really nice.
18:14And they all genuinely love the program, so.
18:17Austin said he needs to hire a bodyguard.
18:20You know what I'm saying?
18:20You're damn right, Austin.
18:23You better hope I'm not there, Austin.
18:25That's pretty good.
18:25You better hope I'm not there.
18:27Yeah.
18:27You guys did another great job with Kerr yesterday, man.
18:30Yeah.
18:31You guys just, it's natural.
18:33I mean, he makes it easy.
18:34It's like facing a shortstop who comes in as a pitcher.
18:38Steve Kerr makes it easy.
18:40But you guys made the decision to play the Anthony from Ritwick.
18:43That was my partner.
18:45Wow.
18:45Let's hear from the horse's mouth.
18:47No, but you guys deserve a piece of that pie because I told the story.
18:50I was sitting in my kitchen.
18:52I actually had an empty nester moment.
18:54I had one of these.
18:55It doesn't have a lot of time.
18:56Kids were at school.
18:57My older son was off at work.
18:59And the sun is just beaming in the windows.
19:01And I'm like, I'm going to cook some food for later, get ahead a little bit.
19:04And I'm listening to you guys on the smart speaker.
19:08And then here comes your boy.
19:10He was down.
19:11And I'm like, damn it.
19:13I just, ah, that take, it gets me.
19:18It gets to me.
19:20It's like, if that's your, and of course.
19:22Maybe you should meet up with Anthony and Bradworth.
19:24You should link up with him.
19:26Have a conversation.
19:28Of course there are.
19:29Which is why it's triggering.
19:31Because he's not the only one.
19:33But I just, I don't get it.
19:35If that's how you feel, you get to feel that way.
19:39But I'm sitting there literally in the kitchen speaking to my wall.
19:43I'm like, well then why are we playing?
19:45Yeah, right.
19:46And that's what Kurt said.
19:48Evan played it.
19:49So I texted Grandy before the call was even off.
19:52I go, record this.
19:53What is the point of what we're doing?
19:56Record this because I want to play that for Steve later.
20:00That makes no sense to me.
20:02I want to hear what Steve would say.
20:03I know what I would say.
20:05I want to hear what Steve would say.
20:07That on the heels.
20:08That was after I explained it to him.
20:10He's like, tell me what they're saying.
20:13And I'm like, Steve.
20:14You hit him with the ping pong balls.
20:15And he's like, yeah, all right.
20:16All right.
20:17All right.
20:18All right.
20:18That's not for me.
20:20On the heels of the ball is everything.
20:22Oh, God.
20:23Kurt's got some good sound bites this week.
20:25What is, what is that?
20:27What?
20:28What?
20:28Like, he got all stopped up.
20:31You're a residential doctor.
20:33Curry had a, what was it?
20:34A PRP shot.
20:35What is that?
20:37That's a good sign.
20:38That is a platelet rich plasma.
20:41That's what it is.
20:42PRP.
20:42Yeah.
20:43So you take your own platelets and you spin it in a centrifuge and then you inject it back
20:48in.
20:48It's the good stuff.
20:49What Kobe was doing in Germany?
20:51Yeah, I think so.
20:51And I don't know if you have to go overseas anymore to get that, but basically it is a
20:58natural way to take your own good stuff and spin it and put it right back in.
21:03It's not a chemical like Toradol or, you know, the other stuff that I constantly get, to be
21:10honest, but it's more of kind of a natural route for him to, you know, make the knee feel
21:16better.
21:16So a sign that maybe he's feeling frisky and you played the sham report that.
21:21Yes.
21:21Yes.
21:22No.
21:22I mean, I think like the, the best news that I heard out of that, first of all, I guess
21:26he went through a pretty extensive workout today and that's great.
21:29But what they were, the thing that caught my ear was he's been going through workouts
21:34and for the first time in a few weeks, it's not swelling up.
21:38Man.
21:38Okay.
21:39And I'm wondering if it's because of that injection.
21:41That's action.
21:41Yeah.
21:42That's action.
21:42It could be.
21:43And you know, I, I get quarter zone every like whatever, six months in my knee and the
21:47first six weeks are like, Oh my God, my knee, my knee's better.
21:50I'm all the way back.
21:51And then after six weeks, it slowly kind of goes down the hill.
21:54And so PRP is probably the same sort of a short-term reaction where short-term good.
22:01And then over time, as that PRP starts to evaporate or dissipate, so to speak, your knee goes
22:07back to what it was.
22:07Is that covered by our insurance here at Odyssey?
22:10A little PRP action?
22:11I don't know, but I know a cortisone does for sure.
22:15It's just like a, like a super rich people thing.
22:17Yeah.
22:17And I blessed my mom in heaven.
22:18She had four back surgeries and we called it the steroid shot and she would get it twice
22:23a year.
22:24And once she would get it, she was running through the parking lot.
22:26Like, Oh, careful.
22:28Look at mom's.
22:29And then when she needed it, Oh boy.
22:31Pregnizone.
22:32Yeah.
22:32My mom had the same thing.
22:34Evan, my girl was moving, man, but it wears off.
22:37There's a great line out of, uh, I read, uh, Michael J. Fox's book.
22:42This is years ago when he had first been diagnosed with, uh, with, uh, Parkinson's and, uh,
22:50my Lord, no, sorry.
22:51No, but the, the, the, the, the, Michael, Michael's like, bleep you, bleep you.
22:57No, clean up my, we're going to clean up.
22:59But the fact that you blurted it out was threat.
23:03That's so good.
23:04That makes it a nine is what it is.
23:07I was thinking of Mahmoud Abdul-Rahul with the threat.
23:11Anyway, there's a line in the book where he talks about, and he's pulling the line from
23:15a song and I forget who sings the song.
23:18It might've been James Taylor, but, uh, the line was, I love it when the drugs kick in.
23:23Wow.
23:24And he, the line hit him differently when he was diagnosed with this.
23:28And there was a certain drug that would calm all of his symptoms down for a second.
23:32It's kind of like when a migraine goes away.
23:34Love it when the drugs kick in.
23:36Yep.
23:37Damn.
23:38So, uh, and you guys got Warriors Live coming up.
23:41Dude, why did you just show up?
23:43In seven minutes?
23:44I know.
23:45The game's in ten minutes.
23:45This weather like this.
23:46You said it with my wife.
23:47I was over at the ballpark eating Buria-filled grilled cheese sandwiches with my beautiful wife.
23:55I love it.
23:56And I gotta come over here and do a 13-minute show.
23:59Wow.
23:59We'll be living.
24:00Well, my wife hit me with, uh, you telling me you can't do it from home?
24:04And I said, uh, he wants to, uh, have a look, look, look at me, even though he's probably
24:09not here himself.
24:10Before you do, uh, I want to shout out Travis in Oakland, who is our second, uh, our second
24:16winner of the day.
24:17The answer to the question of who Willard will pay us eventually, because it's going to happen,
24:21five dollars to take a crab sandwich, garlic fry, a selfie with, is L. Duncan.
24:26L. Duncan.
24:26There you go.
24:27That'll be next Wednesday.
24:28Netflix.
24:28Let's go.
24:29On Netflix and the Giants game.
24:29A week from today, they play a game that goes in the standings.
24:34And the WBC got me super excited.
24:37I was acting.
24:38They lost.
24:38We lost.
24:39But, man, baseball's here.
24:40Now you hate to see it.
24:41It's here, and I'm so locked in on next Wednesday, I just don't even know what to do.
24:46Yeah.
24:46I just cannot wait for the, uh, the opener.
24:48We, we are, um, I'm not going to say it out loud.
24:52But, uh, yeah.
24:53We're working on something.
24:55I got, if it happens.
24:57The streets have been telling me I got into it.
24:59Do you remember when we went to Linden?
25:01It's something never, ever done.
25:03Yes, I do.
25:03We went to Linden to try to get Aaron Judge, and that was, that was out of the box, and
25:08that
25:08was kind of a big move.
25:09This is incredible.
25:10This is, like, Tom Hanks big.
25:13This should be on SportsCenter if it goes through.
25:17Never in the history of Bay Area Radio, right?
25:19Never.
25:19Never.
25:20Am I right in saying that?
25:21I'm saying it.
25:22You're right.
25:22I mean, you look at me like I've been on the air for 25 years.
25:25No, I've been listening.
25:26And I have.
25:26Took a shot.
25:27It's all you got.
25:28So, fingers crossed.
25:30This would be.
25:30There are hurdles.
25:32There are variables.
25:33Shout out, Tom.
25:34We, fingers crossed.
25:35That's a, I was going to say Cliff, yeah.
25:38By the way, also, two more chances for you to win your way into Nile.
25:40Knockout tomorrow during the crossover, and the Morning Rose is also giving away a spot
25:44of Knockout each day this week at 8 a.m.
25:47All right.
25:48Shorty, and then 3.30.
25:49Oh, 3 o'clock.
25:503 o'clock.
25:51Just stick around for another two seconds.
25:54We're going to say a couple words, and then that'll be it.
25:56I got the Giants going.
25:5882 and 75.
25:59I got the Giants going.
25:5982 and 75.
