00:53We know that there was a period of time where there was very strong protectionist temptations within Europe.
01:00And luckily, there was awareness and people realized that this was not the way forward.
01:07So when we look at AI in health, or AI in general, when you look at the United States,
01:12it's primarily funded by the private sector venture capital.
01:16When you look at China, the other big powerhouse, it's mainly state driven.
01:20I think this is actually the biggest opportunity for Europe,
01:23which is to be right in the middle,
01:25to bring together the public and the private sector to work together.
01:29If Europe is able to find that solution,
01:32and I think it's critical that the European institutions
01:34understand that they need to work closer with the private sector,
01:38that the regulators need to create a pathway of conversation
01:41with companies developing the innovations from the start,
01:44from the moment they start developing the technology,
01:46all the way to access to market.
01:47We have faced challenges imposed by the pandemic,
01:50but we have also taken a very important lesson,
01:53which is that health is a strategic asset for Europe.
01:59And having said that, what I mean is,
02:03if health systems are in trouble, everything else collapses,
02:09the societies are suffering, everything else is suffering.
02:14So I would say that it doesn't really matter
02:17where are the different competencies levels.
02:20It matters what kind of health care delivery will be reaching the patients.
