00:07Now, John Donovan was one of your favorite characters from Mafia 3,
00:11and that's why we're so excited to bring back this witty and clever character
00:14in our next DLC, Stones Unturned.
00:17Stones Unturned launches on May 30th,
00:20and to get more info, I'm sitting down here with the team at Hangar 13.
00:23You guys want to make a quick introduction?
00:25Sure, I'm Carlos Sanchez, I'm the Art Director on Mafia 3 DLC.
00:30I'm Bill Harms, I'm the Narrative Director at Hangar 13.
00:33And I'm Ed Fowler, Senior Writer at Hangar 13.
00:36Cool, so with Stones Unturned, we have this brand new conflict.
00:41Donovan spent most of his time in the main game,
00:43cooped up in a motel room helping Lincoln behind the scenes,
00:46but this time he's the one calling Lincoln for help.
00:48So what's getting him out of his motel room this time around?
00:50So during his time in Vietnam, Donovan encounters a man named Connor Aldridge,
00:55who is very unorthodox in his methods, to say the least.
01:00The two of them come into conflict, and they kind of go their separate ways.
01:03But when Aldridge shows up in New Bordeaux,
01:05and basically just starts cutting a path of destruction to the city,
01:09Donovan recognizes that Aldridge represents a massive threat,
01:13and he needs to be dealt with.
01:15So he reaches out to Lincoln and asks him for his help.
01:17The great thing about Aldridge is that, like Donovan,
01:20like in Donovan's mind, he's a patriot.
01:23Aldridge believes the same thing.
01:24At his core, Aldridge also feels that he's a patriot.
01:27His methodology is just pretty extreme.
01:30Right, and you mentioned Donovan and Lincoln together again.
01:33You guys want to talk a bit about how exciting it is to have these two characters out in the
01:37field
01:37for the first time really together that we've seen.
01:39I mean, it's awesome.
01:41You know, we all love Donovan.
01:42The fans love Donovan.
01:44And it was really hard in the main game.
01:46Like there were times where we were just like,
01:47oh, we just want these guys to go out and kick ass together.
01:49And in Stones Unturned, we're finally able to do that.
01:52Donovan is with you through most of this.
01:54Like he's by your side,
01:55and Lincoln and Donovan are actually fighting Aldridge and his mercenaries together.
02:01And the great thing about that is we get to show that Donovan isn't just this desk jockey.
02:05Like he can kick just as much ass as Lincoln,
02:07and that's something that you see across Stones Unturned.
02:10Yeah, I mean, and part of that, you know,
02:13is that banter even that plays out while you're in combat.
02:16I mean, you know, like you could be taking cover, you know, reloading your gun,
02:20and Donovan's popping off shots,
02:23and he's also talking trash to you at the same time.
02:26And this action that we're going to have with John Donovan and Lincoln
02:30is really going to take them throughout New Bordeaux and also into a new location.
02:33So Carlos, you want to talk a little bit about some of these new environments that we're going to see?
02:38As the story gets a little bit more serious,
02:40we get to go to this island that is much more of a rainforest jungle,
02:45a little bit more of a mangrove feel to it.
02:48And you start to feel like you're in Vietnam without actually being in Vietnam,
02:51which is something the fans I know always wanted.
02:54The island itself is absolutely beautiful.
02:57It's got some nice set pieces to it,
02:58and I think the fans are really going to like it.
03:00Right.
03:00Yeah, as you mentioned,
03:01this is kind of Lincoln and Donovan back together in their element, right?
03:05Do you guys want to talk a bit about some of the action that we're going to see?
03:08We've got a bunch of new tools, new gameplay,
03:11new action sequences that we're going to have.
03:12Do you want to talk a little bit about those things?
03:14So on this journey, you're going up against Conor Aldridge,
03:18and Aldridge isn't just in the city by himself.
03:21He's got his own mercenary army, highly trained military guys working alongside him.
03:28And these are enemies that Lincoln and Donovan haven't...
03:31This is a level of enemies that Lincoln and Donovan haven't faced probably since Vietnam.
03:36So what does that call for?
03:38That calls for some heavy firepower.
03:40You know, so we get, you know, some RPGs in there.
03:44You know, we get, you know, a new sniper service in there.
03:48And one of the most, like, enjoyable experiences I've had playing through it
03:53is this new, the new turrets, and specifically the ones that are on the turret trucks.
03:58And it's just this really, like, visceral, great, exciting experience as you're busting through
04:03and seeing trucks exploding all across the road and Donovan swerving
04:09and you guys yelling back and forth to each other.
04:11It's just, it's really fun.

04:15Having just played this DLC, I can tell you it's a ton of fun.
04:17It's really action-packed, and it's full of great moments with Lincoln and Donovan.
