Doctor Who Special - The Night of The Doctor (2013)

"The Night of the Doctor" is a mini-episode of the British science fiction television program Doctor Who. It was made available on BBC iPlayer and YouTube on 14 November 2013, as part of the BBC One lead-up to the show's 50th anniversary special. It was written by Steven Moffat and starred Paul McGann as the Doctor.

The episode is set during the Time War and shows the previously unseen last moments of the Eighth Doctor and his artificially controlled regeneration into the War Doctor. It is McGann's second on-screen appearance as the Doctor, following his debut in the 1996 television film.

Plot Doctor Who The Night of The Doctor:
During the Time War, the Eighth Doctor attempts to rescue pilot Cass, whose spacecraft is crashing into the planet Karn. When Cass realises that the Doctor is a Time Lord, she refuses his aid, ignoring his claims that he has never taken part in the devastating Time War. The Doctor refuses to abandon Cass, and both are killed when the ship crashes.

On the planet, the Doctor is taken in by the Sisterhood of Karn, who revive him temporarily; Cass, however, is beyond their help. The Sisterhood offer the Doctor a selection of potions which, if consumed before he expires, will not only trigger his regeneration into a new form, but allow him to choose which characteristics his next incarnation will have. They convince the Doctor that he must take action to end the Time War, which "threatens all reality". The Doctor initially refuses, but after seeing Cass's dead body, he agrees that a doctor is not needed any more and asks for a potion that will turn him into "a warrior". Saluting the memory of his past companions, he drinks the potion and regenerates into a new incarnation, who wears Cass's bandolier, and is "Doctor No More".

00:01Help me, please. Can anybody hear me?
00:04Please state the nature of your ailment or injury.
00:06I'm not injured, I'm crashing. I don't need a doctor.
00:09A clear statement of your symptoms will help us provide the medical practitioner appropriate to your individual needs.
00:15I'm trying to send a distress signal. Stop talking about doctors.
00:19I'm a doctor, but probably not the one you're expecting.
00:38Where are the rest of the crew?
00:40Teleported off.
00:41But you're still here.
00:42I teleported them.
00:43Why you?
00:43Everyone else was screaming.
00:45Welcome aboard.
00:46Aboard what?
00:47I'll show you.
00:52Where are we going?
00:53Back of the ship.
00:53Why?
00:54Because the front crashes first. Think it through.
00:57Why did you do that?
00:58Emergency protocols.
01:00What's your name?
01:01Kaz.
01:02You're young to be crewing a gunship, Kaz.
01:04I wanted to see the universe. Is it always like this?
01:07If you're lucky.
01:11Don't worry, it's bigger on the inside.
01:13What did you say? Bigger on the inside? Is that what you said?
01:16Yes, come on, you'll love it.
01:17Is this a TARDIS?
01:19Yes, but you'll be perfectly safe, I promise you.
01:21Don't touch me!
01:23I'm not part of the war. I swear to you, I never was.
01:26You're a Time Lord.
01:28Yes, I'm a Time Lord, but I'm one of the nice ones.
01:30Get away from me.
01:32Oh, look on the bright side, I'm not a Dalek.
01:33Who can tell the difference anymore?
01:36Kaz!
01:37It's deadlocked. Don't even try.
01:40Kaz, just open the door. I'm trying to help.
01:42Go back to your battlefield.
01:44You haven't finished yet.
01:46Some of the universe is still standing.
01:48I'm not leaving this ship without you.
01:50Then you're gonna die right here.
01:53Best news all day.
01:55Yes, Kaz.
01:57Kaz!
01:59Kaz!
02:00Kaz!
02:01Kaz!
02:02Kaz!
02:08And here he is at last.
02:11The man to end it all.
02:13My sisters, the Doctor has returned to Khan.
02:17We have always known in our bones that one day he would return here.
02:22Such a pity he's dead.
02:31Kaz!
02:34If you refer to your companion,
02:36we are still attempting to extract her from the wreckage.
02:39She wasn't my companion.
02:40She's almost certainly dead.
02:42No one could survive that crash.
02:43I did.
02:44No.
02:46We restored you to life, but it's a temporary measure.
02:49You have a little under four minutes.
02:51Four minutes?
02:53That's ages.
02:54What if I get bored?
02:55I need a television, couple of books,
02:57anyone but chess,
02:58bring me knitting.
02:59You have so little breath left.
03:01Spend it wisely.
03:03Hang on.
03:05Is it you?
03:07Am I back on Khan?
03:09You're the sisterhood of Khan.
03:12Keepers of the flame,
03:13of utter boredom.
03:15Eternal life.
03:16That's the one.
03:17Mockers if you will.
03:18But our elixir can trigger your regeneration.
03:21Bring you back.
03:24Time Lord Science is elevated here on Khan.
03:27The change doesn't have to be random.
03:30Fat or thin.
03:31Young or old.
03:32Man or woman.
03:35Why would you do this for me?
03:36You have helped us in the past.
03:38You will never be on gratitude.
03:40The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords
03:41threatens all reality.
03:43You are the only hope left.
03:45It's not my war.
03:47I will have no part of it.
03:48You can't ignore it forever.
03:50I help where I can.
03:51I will not fight.
03:52Because you are the good man,
03:54as you call yourself.
03:55I call myself the Doctor.
03:56It's the same thing in your mind.
03:58I would like to think so.
03:59In that case, Doctor.
04:02Attend your patient.
04:12You are wasting your time.
04:14She is beyond even our help.
04:16She wanted to see the universe.
04:17She didn't miss much.
04:19It's very nearly over.
04:20I could have saved her.
04:21I could have got her off this.
04:22You wouldn't listen.
04:23Then she was wiser than you.
04:25She understood there was no escaping the Time War.
04:27You are a part of this, Doctor.
04:29Whether you like it or not.
04:30I would rather die.
04:31You're dead already.
04:33How many more will you let join you?
04:37If she could speak,
04:40what would she say?
04:41To me, nothing.
04:43I'm a Time Lord.
04:45Everything she despised.
04:46She would beg your help.
04:48As we beg your help now.
04:51The universe stands on the brink.
04:54Will you let it fall?
04:57Fast or strong?
04:59Wise or angry?
05:01What do you need now?
05:05Warrior.
05:07Warrior?
05:09I don't suppose there's any need for a doctor anymore.
05:13Make me a warrior now.
05:15I took the liberty of preparing this room myself.
05:20Get out.
05:21Get out!
05:24All of you.
05:28Will it hurt?
05:30Yes.
05:31Good.
