00:00Sitting around 30 kilometers from the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, this partially destroyed
00:05camp belonged to the Kurdistan Freedom Party, or PAK, an Iranian Kurdish party opposed to
00:11the regime in Tehran, one targeted by Iran from the very first days of the war.
00:18Three mortar shells hit this house and the homes across the street, all of which were
00:22occupied by families and civilians.
00:24This is not a military base.
00:27Only this devastated area of the camp can be filmed.
00:30Now Kurdish fighters fear a new assault on the remaining infrastructure.
00:34A previous attack left one dead and three wounded.
00:38One of the camp's guards has been recovering from his wounds in a hidden location somewhere
00:42in Erbil.
00:44Does that hurt?
00:46No, it just hurts to breathe.
00:48When the missile hit us, it wounded my back in two places.
00:56I am still in a lot of pain and have trouble breathing.
01:03Faced with recent Iranian strikes, Kurdish fighters and their families have scattered
01:07across Iraqi Kurdistan.
01:09Opposition party leaders are exercising even greater caution.
01:12They only agree to be filmed indoors.
01:17We don't possess effective weapons to counter these drone and missile attacks.
01:21The Iranian Peshmerga forces will fight against the regime's bases, but only to the extent
01:27of their capabilities.
01:29The PAK and five other Iranian Kurdish parties formed an alliance in late February to join
01:35forces and unify their opposition to Tehran.
01:38But according to the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, their actions remain limited.
01:45We want a federal system so that the Kurds can have rights.
01:48We are ready to fight the Islamic Republic of Iran, but no decision has yet been made to
01:53enter the country, because the Kurdistan region and Iraq have an agreement with the Islamic
01:57Republic of Iran that prevents us from crossing the border.
02:03A security agreement signed between Baghdad and Tehran provided for the removal of Iranian
02:08Kurdish opposition groups from the border starting in 2023.
02:11Iran has threatened Kurdish authorities that Iraqi Kurdistan will be attacked if a single
02:17fighter crosses into Iran.
