00:30In previous campaign packs like Age of Charlemagne there was often an event chain for factions but there was sort
00:34of one path you went through each event in turn.
00:37For Thrones we're all about offering choices and multiple paths that players can choose based on the situation in their
00:43campaign and to add variety.
00:45We have this fantastic 2D art style for Thrones based on church carvings, illuminator manuscripts, metalwork, runestones from the time.
00:53Though we've put together these lovely 2.5D parallaxed movies that really bring across the sense of the period.
01:00Each faction has a unique intro movie which tells the story of their faction.
01:04There's event pictures for pretty much everything that happens in the game and there's unique victory movies as well.
01:10There being more events in the game doesn't mean that we're trying to force repetition in each campaign.
01:14It's not going to be you get to X date if this same thing happens every time.
01:19Because there's unique chains for every faction, these events are happening to the AI as well, each time you play
01:25you'll get different outcomes.
01:27Which means if you play through one as a faction you might choose option A.
01:30And in the next one something else has happened to different factions which means oh that's not the great best
01:35option anymore.
01:36You want to go for option 2 or 3.
01:37Unlike in Warhammer where your legendary lords are immortal, in this time frame people died lots.
01:44Alfred the Great was the youngest of four brothers to assume the throne so no one's guaranteed to live forever.
01:49So having the events based around the faction allows that narrative to go across multiple potential kings rather than being
01:55focused on a character who might die in the first battle you have across.
01:58With a period like this where we're focused on a really tight geographic area, it's all about getting players immersed

02:04Having this distinctive art style really helps, that helps ground you in the era.
