00:28Hi, I'm Simone Ashley and I'm getting ready for the Vanity Fair Oscars party.
00:33This is my third time going.
00:35The first time I went, I was incredibly nervous.
00:37I knew nobody.
00:39But I noticed by the second time I went, I had befriended people.
00:43I knew more people around the room.
00:45I felt less of an imposter.
00:48So now I guess my favorite thing is just knowing that I'm going in with a bit more familiarity.

01:00Alex Babsky, the one and only, doing my makeup.
01:04And Madeleine helping me with the hair.
01:07We've gone for something super sleek.
01:11I must have products that come to mind immediately that I can't leave my hotel room without.
01:16Or my house without when I'm going to a carpet.
01:19Three L'Oreal Paris products are my Colourish lipstick.
01:24Today, I have on shade...

01:30Um, and I love it because it's just a really natural colour, but it has a tiny little hint,
01:37something pinky.
01:38Um, and then my extension is mascara.
01:40I use it because it makes my lashes super long and lengthened and volumized,
01:45which is exactly what I need tonight.
01:47And then my L'Oreal Paris setting spray.
01:50It just makes sure that my makeup doesn't move.
01:52And I don't have to think about my makeup or how I look.
01:55I can just focus on whoever's in front of me.
01:57I think it depends on the occasion.
01:58But the majority of the time, I like quite a subtle, natural makeup look.
02:03We've done a few moments where one that really comes to mind is when we did like a wash of

02:10blue eyeshadow when I did the Little Mermaid premiere a few years ago.
02:14The dress is quite loud.
02:17It's very sparkly.
02:18It's Tamara Ralph couture.
02:20And it has this really gorgeous, beautiful peacock feather that's like coming out of the dress.
02:26So I just wanted to keep the hair and makeup quite simple.
02:30Rebecca Corbin Murray is one of my best friends and my stylist.
02:33And we've worked together for many years now.
02:36Actually, two years ago, I wore this designer.
02:39I wore Tamara Ralph couture.
02:41I wore this beautiful pearl dress.
02:44And then now, a few years later, I'm wearing her again.
02:47Another couture piece.
02:48And I'm deeply grateful and very honoured that she has trusted me to wear it.
02:54And it's always an honour to wear anyone's work.
02:57So it's definitely quite a piece that's been handcrafted with gazillion Trotsky crystals.
03:06And yeah, I mean, how would you describe the peacock feather?
03:09It's like a metal plate almost that like comes out.
03:14There's nothing that I could have ever created.
03:16Let's put it that way.
03:17I'm really in the best hands with my glam team, my styling team,
03:22team in general, the people around me, which is really important.
03:25I always step out feeling like I'm the best version of myself.
03:28So I can just be confident and calm.
03:30I try not to try too hard or try hard in general.
03:33I just like being myself.
03:35And whether I'm nervous or not nervous, I just like to be myself.
03:40I think you can quite easily see, through me anyway, if I'm channelling an ego.
03:47I think that's something that you can stick to with performance or work.
03:51But, you know, we're stepping out into the real world with real people.
03:55So let's keep it real as much as possible at a vanity fair Oscar party.

04:09Cannot be partying in couture.

04:12Very disrespectful to the designer.
04:14So I'm going to put my cowboy boots on and I've got a little leather mini dress to go partying
04:20in.
04:20We need multiple hands because it's got a beautiful corset inside the dress.
04:26So we definitely need multiple hands to squeeze me into it.
04:30And so we're going to go and do some squeezing and get in the dress.
