00:00Hey, I'm Martin Palko, I'm a senior technical artist at Eidos Montreal
00:03and I'm going to talk to you about Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 30 seconds.
00:10In this game we did a lot of work improving a lot of visual effects such as fire, smoke, explosions,
00:16water.
00:17One of our goals is to be very realistic and we use a lot of real world physical formulas in
00:22the game.
00:23For the fire we actually measure the temperature of the flame and generate a color based on that.
00:27So there's a scene where Laura's wading through a pool of water that has oil floating on the surface.
00:33So we did a lot of work to make that oil very believable including the sheen and the color separation
00:39on the top of the water.
