00:00We know Russell and Paige have been married for two years.
00:03Let me teach you something about women.
00:05When I forgive you, we don't go back to the moment before you wronged me.
00:09We go back to the very beginning when we first met,
00:12and I thought you were sort of cute with a good sense of humor.
00:15So we're back to our first date.
00:16Yes.
00:17But I'm fascinated to know if you know how they met and what their love story is.
00:21That's funny, yeah, we just talked about that.
00:25I think we decided that they were at like a Soho house type place.
00:30Yeah, swanky kind of private membership.
00:32And his friends like dared him to talk to her
00:35because he would like never approach someone that looks like Paige.
00:40And they're like, go on, do it.
00:41And he's like, I'm going to fail bomb.
00:42And I think she finds it adorable.
00:45She finds it secretly adorable.
00:46And suddenly he's got a date with her and he has no idea how to do it.
00:50I think he constantly feels like he's a little out of her league.
00:52Russell steps up for Paige in the Clyburns without any hesitation or complaining.
00:57You know, is he the last good man in New York City?
01:01He might be.
01:02And how did this family earn his loyalty?
01:05He's a man looking for a family, obviously looking for love as well,
01:08but looking for a community.
01:09And I think, you know, the unique part of what this show is about
01:14and what's happened in the events of the show
01:16is that it provides him an opportunity to really show up for the people that he loves,
01:19even though he doesn't quite know how to.
01:20When he makes a mess of it, he still really wants to.
01:24There's no doubt in his mind that he's like going on this trip with these people to this place
01:28to be with them in this time of need.
01:32And I think you're right.
01:33I think that was what drew me to him because otherwise he was just a bit useless.
01:38But, you know, it's scary to show up for people when you have no idea how to do anything.
01:42You know, it'd be a lot easier for him to say, let me know what you need.
01:44I'll stay home and hold down the fort and, you know, go to my job.
01:47But he's like, no way, I'm going to be here for not just her, but all of them.
01:50And I thought that that was a pretty unique and special thing about him.
01:53Amaya, you know, Bridget and Macy are left with their Uncle Russell and Aunt Paige quite a bit during the
01:59series.
02:00Can you talk about building that bond with your co-stars?
02:03Oh, my gosh.
02:04I mean, it was the easiest thing ever.
02:06However, they are all truly so special and Elena's the best.
02:10She truly has become my little sister.
02:12I've always wanted one.
02:13So, yeah.
02:15A lot of Mario Kart.
02:16A lot of Mario Kart.
02:17A lot of dinner parties.
02:18A lot of hangouts on the weekend.
02:20Yeah.
02:21Yeah, it was the easiest thing.
02:23I feel like we have a great chemistry as a family and you can see that on screen.
02:28Elle, over the course of those first three episodes, she's punched by a stranger, her sister, and is stung on
02:35the nether reasons by a load of hornets.
02:37You know, what scene was the hardest to film for you?
02:40Well, okay.
02:41Funny enough, the New York punch scene.
02:46I obviously flew to New York to shoot that and it was very early in the day.
02:51This is my first TV show, so it's a lot of firsts for me.
02:54And I was very nervous that day because I went from shooting in these sweeping, you know, mountains where it
02:59was quiet and it was only our set to being in, like, New York with crazy bustle, like, people walking
03:05by.
03:05And then I had to do a stunt and I was so nervous that I actually slipped on the ground
03:11and fell.
03:12So, when you see me fall in the show, that's a real practical fall because I accidentally fell and they
03:16just kept rolling.
03:24And obviously, of course, as soon as the camera's cut, they were like, medic, get a medic.
03:27And I was fine.
03:28I just, like, kind of tweaked my wrist, but I immediately was like, did we get it?
03:32And they said, yeah, we did it.
03:33It looks awesome.
03:34And so it ended up.
03:35But, I mean, that was pretty difficult mentally and a little physically in the end.
03:40And obviously, Michelle Pfeiffer is such a force in the series.
03:44What makes her such a dream number one on the call sheet?
03:48She's just so present for everybody.
03:50She matches such a preparation.
03:53She's such a pro.
03:54She's been through the script a million times.
03:55She knows everything.
03:56She knows what she's shooting tomorrow and the next day and how she, you know, she's asking questions ahead of
04:00time.
04:01But then she just shows up and kind of throws it all away, which is really, we talk about doing
04:05that a lot in our business, but it's hard to do.
04:07Especially when you have as much to do in the show as Michelle does.
04:10So just her ease, her being present and just in reaction, it's a real lesson.
04:16Michelle truly just radiates light and brings a depth to Stacey that I think anchors the whole show.
04:23Yeah, she's so special.
04:25She's so kind, I think, at the end of it all.
04:27She's very kind.
04:29Yeah, she wants everybody to succeed.
04:31That's great.
