00:00So I finally decided to make the Legendary Onion Burger from Hamburger America.
00:03And if you're not familiar with it, it's one of the best burgers you can get in New York City,
00:06and it's going to start off the same way as most of my smash burgers,
00:08but instead of smashing the onions into the burger patties,
00:10we're actually going to place them down on top of the beef after it's smashed and seasoned up.
00:13And one big difference with this burger is we're going to use a lot of thinly sliced sweet onions
00:17compared to what I normally use.
00:18And after we flip those patties over, the onions are going to cook down really well,
00:21which is going to help prevent the beef from overcooking while also packing in a ton of flavor.
00:25And then we're going to place down a few slices of American cheese,
00:27and we're going to let that steam and melt for just a few seconds
00:29before we stack these patties up and place the potato buns on top
00:31so those can steam while the onions finish cooking.
00:33And then all we have to do is take the bottom bun off so we can put it all together.
00:36And what you see is definitely what you get with this burger.
00:38He doesn't use any condiments on his onion burger, which is definitely a change for me,
00:41so let's see if it's worth it.
00:42I mean, I've seen this burger around a bunch, and I've never actually given it a try,
00:45but he's a legend. I love burgers. You guys all know that.
00:47So we're going to give it a try.
00:50Holy crap. I mean, that's crazy simple, but that's got so much flavor.
