00:00Okay, Michigan, I'm going to ask you, how far do you think that basketball team can go?
00:04Obviously, they play Purdue, a very tough Purdue team today.
00:07I'm assuming you're probably taking Michigan over Purdue, or maybe Purdue gives them a tough game.
00:14Maybe Purdue does come out of this thing here.
00:16I don't want to put words in your mouth here, but how good is Michigan?
00:21Michigan is a top five team.
00:23Purdue, me and now sitting at what, they're ranked 18th right now.
00:27I think Purdue is about where I'd put them.
00:30I think Purdue was overrated early in the season.
00:32This is a Purdue team where we've seen these players, whether you're talking about Trey Kaufman, Wren, or Fletcher Lawyer,
00:38or Braden Smith.
00:39These guys have been there.
00:41Braden Smith has been there for four years.
00:43I think Wren has, Trey Kaufman, Wren has been there for four years as well.
00:46They're not bad players.
00:48They're very sound, solid players, but I have not seen that development enough.
00:53This starting five for Purdue is not a group that I trust to make a run.
00:59Now, on the flip side with Michigan, yeah, absolutely.
01:03I think Michigan, with the way that they can control the paint and the way they control the glass, I
01:08think Michigan is easily one of the top five teams.
01:11I think their ranking is very well deserved.
01:14If you have Michigan cutting down the nets in your bracket, I think you're in a good place.
01:18Me, personally, I don't, but I think Michigan is one of the best teams.
01:21All right, I'm going to throw three teams at you right now that potentially could be in those two holes.
01:26Michigan State, Nebraska, Illinois.
01:28If you had to pick one of those three teams that could be a team that could get to an
01:33Elite Eight, out of those three, Illinois, Michigan State, and Nebraska, who would you take?
01:42I'll put them in order for you.
01:45Gosh, for me.
01:46Okay, Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska.
01:48That's my order.
01:48Now, the reason I say that is because Illinois, early on in the season, I looked at them and I
01:54said, man, they've got the pieces.
01:55They've got the parts on the court that this could be a team that cuts the nets down.
02:00So that might just be stuck in my head.
02:02Michigan State, on the other hand, I talk about continuity.
02:05Now, we all know fears because of the little bit of dirty basketball we've seen, but outside of fears, most
02:10people can't name these Michigan State players.
02:12But you know what they do is they've been there for four years with Tom Izzo.
02:16They've got people on the court that have completely and totally bought into Tom Izzo's system.
02:21You want to talk about a coach right there.
02:22That's a great coach.
02:24And when you've got players that are buying into his system, Michigan State is a very sound basketball team, and
02:29that's why there's such a risk when you're going against them.
02:32But I still put it, Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska.
02:35I think Nebraska had their fun in the regular season.
02:38I'm not very high on this Nebraska team.
02:4130 seconds, Iowa State, in your opinion.
02:44Can they go far?
02:46Can they go far?
02:47Of course they can.
02:48But Iowa State makes me think of like a Texas Tech team.
02:52If Lipsy or some of their guard players are not hitting shots, Iowa State shuts down.
02:56It's the same thing with Texas Tech.
02:58You need Anderson.
02:59You need these outside guards to be able to hit their shots.
03:01Iowa State's a very good basketball team.
03:03I wouldn't buy a ticket on them because there's too much value on them.
03:07Or not enough value.
03:08Excuse me.
03:08I wouldn't buy a ticket maybe.
03:08I don't know guy.
03:08So here we go.
