00:00Welcome to highlights of Stage 7 of Torreno Adriazco, the final stage of this week-long race from Civitanova Marche
00:08to San Benedetto del Toronto, over 142km.
00:13There's your profile, flat at the end with a lumpy beginning and one King of the Mountains climb and an
00:19all-important intermediate sprint as well.
00:21Del Toro relaxed, Mathieu van der Poel too, smiles from Nairo Quintana and that's the trophy.
00:26He's at Del Toro in pole position, a short neutralised run-out, sunny skies, Pelletari there in the white jersey,
00:34Sevilla there in green and a relaxed run-out on a beautiful day.
00:39Once the flag was dropped, unsurprisingly there were numerous attacks.
00:43Asparin, one of the first there for Pinarello, Q36.5, Thrice de Bont there as well for Jaco Alula.
00:49Eventually those three were to go clear, joining with them, Gonzalez.
00:54Had a lead of just under three minutes, up the first climb of the day with 110km to go, all
00:59calm.
01:01But that was a portent of things to come, because next up on the next categorised climb of the day,
01:06Alpesin Premier Tech ripped things apart, trying to put the sprinters under pressure.
01:10And as a result, the lead for our three leaders tumbled down.
01:15Meanwhile, making sure he was locked and loaded at the front of the bunch was Isaac Del Toro.
01:19But one man was doing all the damage, Mathieu van der Poel.
01:23He crested the top of the climb, taking an elite group of GC riders with him over the top.
01:29Just at the back there as well, Wout van Aert.
01:31But this was the devastation behind, about 25 seconds behind to the main peloton.
01:36Jan Christian doing the chasing ahead of a flotilla of riders from the Ineos Grenadiers.
01:40Van der Poel taking the points from Del Toro over the top of the first King of the Mountains.
01:44So the only King of the Mountains of the day.
01:46The efforts over the top continued for van der Poel.
01:49Several riders missed out and were dropped, including the group containing Arnaud Delis.
01:54Second the other day in the sprint, he was a distant 1 minute and 35 seconds behind on the approach
01:59to the finishing circuit.
02:00To be taken on five occasions.
02:03Van der Poel did not miss a beat, continued driving home, didn't even look round for any support.
02:07And they led through 26 seconds to the mass bunch behind with five laps to go.
02:14Delis at this point at 1 minute and 45 seconds.
02:17He certainly threw the cats amongst the pigeons, that's for sure.
02:20Delis just about getting inside the convoy.
02:22But with just under 66 kilometres to go, the chasing bunch finally rejoined the front of the race and van
02:29der Poel eased off.
02:29But still a lot to do for the group containing Delis, Art Slok, Zimmerman, Balmer and the rest.
02:35Then there was an attack from Alessandro Covi of team Jaco Alula.
02:38He went clear, thought better of it and straight over the top was Azparen.
02:43But meanwhile doing the chasing behind Visma Lisa bike, they were determined to set up Matteo Jorgensen for a tilt
02:49at the intermediate sprint.
02:51Meanwhile, disaster struck again for Arnaud Delis.
02:54Not only distanced, but also needing a bike change due to a puncture.
02:57But he was soon up on his way.
02:59Then coming in to the intermediate sprint, three seconds on offer.
03:02An amazing lead out from Wout van Aert and Matteo Jorgensen took a valuable three second time bonus to move
03:09himself above Julio Pellizzari in the general classification.
03:14Disappointment for Pellizzari, but a sportsmanlike fist bump for both of the riders occupying the podium with Isak del Toro.
03:24For 34 k's to go, the group with Delis, after seeing hopes fade, had the bunch in their sights again
03:29and rejoined shortly afterwards.
03:32What a ride by Delis to get in contact coming in to the last two laps.
03:35At this point, it was Decathlon on the front.
03:40A beautiful day at the seaside, waiting for the hectic sprint to come.
03:47Garcia Cortina was another rider suffering from a puncture, but the Spanish sprinter was soon back and on his way.
03:54Taking the bell, though, with 14.5km to go.
03:57Bahrain Victorious, shoulder to shoulder with Decathlon CMA CGM.
04:02Then, rocketing off the front was Jonas Abramson of Uno X Mobility.
04:07What a ride it was.
04:08He soon built up a lead of 11 seconds.
04:10Not exactly panic stations behind, but you could not let a man of this quality go clear.
04:14And with 3.3km to go, he'd got 11 seconds of a lead and was flying.
04:30There was a crash on the corner, taking out several riders, including Philipson, Madnier and Edward Plankart.
04:37It wasn't to be the day for Jasper Philipsa.
04:39Coming under the Flamme Rouge, the man in front had a 7 seconds lead, but it was Philippe O'Gana
04:45on the front.
04:49Big tee-up comes and Jonathan Milan gets the drive.
04:53Away he goes, nodding like a stallion, I've got to say at this moment, but it's a big pick-up
04:57here.
04:58Fulnac is in the frame, just about everybody else as well.
05:00Milan kicks again.
05:01It's a black-hit finish.
05:03Oh, I think he got there.
05:05Just in time, Jonathan Milan.
05:07Jonathan Milan then taking the stage win, and Isek del Toro, surrounded by his teammates, can be crowned the winner
05:14of Torino Adriatico.
05:16But what a sprint it was by Milan.
05:18Look at the stats there.
05:1914-second sprint, 1,770 watts peak power.
05:22Average power of 1,440 watts.
05:2567 k's an hour average speed.
05:27Max speed over 70 k's an hour.
05:29No wonder Jonny Milan looked absolutely delighted.
05:34Don't think Milan then taking the win, ahead of Sam Welsford and Lawrence Rex there in third place.
05:40Milan enjoying the spoils, but Isek del Toro crowned the champion of Torino Adriatico.
05:45Jorgensen jumping to second, ahead of Giulio Pellizzari.
05:48And there's your podium.
05:50What a week it has been for Isek del Toro.
05:53Two stage race wins this year so far.
05:55And also taking the overall point standings, and with it the Malia Ciclamino.
06:01The overall climber standings, the KOM stuck with Diego Pablo Sevilla.
06:05The only man to take a jersey aside from Isek del Toro.
06:09What a ride for the man from Pulti Visit Malta.
06:11Isek del Toro also taking the best young rider standings as well.
06:16Ahead of his friend, Giulio Pellizzari.
06:18What a week it has been for Isek del Toro.
06:20And what a Torino Adriatico.
