00:00Let me start out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

00:04You do preseason coverage for them.
00:06You know, you're the play-by-play guy.
00:08So, Chris, Mike Evans leaving.
00:11I mean, obviously, one of the legendary benchmark guys in the history of that program.
00:16You know, he makes an interesting comment, too, on the way out the door with his agent, Derek Gilmore.
00:21I wanted to go to a place that was a true competitor for a Super Bowl.
00:26So, I mean, that throws a little bit of shade there on the Buccaneers.
00:31Your takeaway on him leaving and going to San Francisco?
00:34Yeah, I'm disappointed in that I thought just being a guy who, you know, appreciates what the Bucs are about,
00:40that I thought he'd end his career there.
00:42And it's funny, last year, before they re-signed him or the last contract, I should say, the Rams, when
00:47he was a free agent,
00:48had a pretty good offer that was actually more money than Tampa Bay.
00:52But he took the Bucs because of wanting to stay there.
00:55And I think he thought they could get another, get back to another Super Bowl.
00:59And here they missed the playoffs last year.
01:01So, I think, you know, he speaks from the heart.
01:03So, I appreciate his honesty.
01:04I think he's essentially saying, you know, the Bucs are contenders, but are they Super Bowl contenders?
01:11And I thought maybe he'd end up going to a place like Houston, you know, back in some of his
01:16Texas roots in college football.
01:19Interesting selection with the 49ers.
01:21But certainly, I could appreciate that.
01:22And the Bucs, you know, look, they had an inkling for this.
01:25I thought Godwin would be out of the picture before Evans, but they've drafted some young receivers to set themselves
01:31up for this.
01:32And I just think the disappointment of last year might have been a little bit too much for him.
01:36But he's very entrenched, too, in the Tampa and the Florida community there.
01:40So, that'll be an interesting transition.
01:42And, my God, when he sees the taxes, that check's going to look a little bit different from the state
01:48of California, right, compared to Florida.
01:50And I've lived in both.
01:52And, man, California will just take your check apart and tear it up and put it towards who knows what.
