Shab-e-Qadr (Laylatul Qadr) is the most blessed night in Ramadan, a night better than a thousand months. On this sacred night, Muslims seek forgiveness, mercy, and countless blessings from Allah. According to a narration of Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA), the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned a special Nafl prayer for the night of Shab-e-Qadr. A person who offers two rakats of Nafl prayer, recites Surah Al-Fatiha once and Surah Al-Ikhlas seven times in each rakat, and after completing the prayer recites “Astaghfirullah wa Atubu Ilaih” seventy times, Allah Almighty grants forgiveness to that person and also to his parents.
These simple nawafil and remembrance of Allah are powerful ways to seek divine mercy on Laylatul Qadr. Muslims around the world spend this night in prayer, recitation of the Quran, supplication, and asking Allah for guidance, forgiveness, and blessings in their lives.
May Allah accept our prayers and grant us the blessings of Shab-e-Qadr. Ameen.
