00:00She had a huge season last year. Rookie on the tour, taking the title, now standing in the
00:07start gate for the first time ever in Alaska and Noemi pushing out of the start gate opting for
00:13that direct fall line approach. Yeah I talked to her down there and she said I'm going full fall
00:20line and it's been great watching her on tour. She really understands the mountain well and it shows.
00:25She brings a lot of fluidity and power and I think one of the other riders who's really taken
00:32women's free ride into the next level. Yeah and and you know the the we talked earlier about the
00:38torch pass between you know your generation and the next and now Victor on to on to the younger
00:44guys. It's been the same thing with the women where Marianerti has taken some of these young
00:48French riders under her wing and Noemi is ripping right now getting her board bounced out from under
00:54her a little bit but at absolute full pace for Noemi Aki.
01:02And she's over in this part Rylan that you said was a little bit stiffer, a little bit firmer
01:07and you can see it by the way the board is moving on the texture of the snow. It's not
01:11as easy to control. Yeah it's a little shallower over there and just like it gives it's given back
01:16a little bit more. You can see it bouncing her but she's riding fast, she's riding smooth and
01:21just a you know a beautiful sunny power run in Alaska. Oh and now it's just glory turn. So
01:31now coming back over the slough frontal she wants to reconnect with the powder.
01:36So Noemi Aki on that run we're gonna have to check in the replay. Strong top but then she kind
01:41of ran
01:41out of features on the lower section which is one of the the I think the benefits of that more
01:46riders
01:47left part of the face you get the bottom part where it's spines and flutes again where way over
01:52their riders right it stays a little bit more a little bit more open bowl style.
01:59Yeah totally and but you know it's cool to watch everybody their own perspective and what they
02:06what draws them to that area you know so it's it's the beautiful part of free riding is that it's
02:14free
02:14and then to see like yeah I'm gonna go over there because that's what it feels to me and have
02:19a run
02:19like that it's it's yeah it's cool. And that is the that is the the genius of line selection is
02:25this face
02:26from start one high all the way over to start two is a kilometer and a half so a huge
02:32huge piece of
02:33terrain and these riders have it all at their fingertips the only thing kind of limiting their
02:39line selection is their own creativity so whatever calls you in your in your free riders heart is
02:44where you're going to go and Noemi Aki now making her way across the little Jarvis Glacier down to our
02:51our limited finish area if you're if you're noticing there's a lot less crowd around the only people
02:56watching live are up on the ridge where we are the judges are all the broadcast and production team
03:01because it is in an avalanche deposit zone so we want to keep the number of people down there to
03:06to a minimum so each category will be hanging down there until the category finishes then they'll
03:11bump back up to the ridge top so it's a bit of a quieter reception to uh yeah to the
03:17finish area
03:18than we're used to seeing as we see we got the ski men lined up on the ridge top they've
03:23been watching
03:23big hug between these two riders there you said it before rylan but they're they're competing against
03:28each other on the on the on the sheet but really it's just you in the mountain out there 100
03:34camaraderie
03:35between all these riders it's just unmatched especially on a big alaskan face like this
03:39yeah well and and they're all at this such a high level the camaraderie and they're learning from each
03:45other and when they see someone else do something that stokes them up it's you know it's
