Inter-state robber apprehended in Lagos! Police have successfully arrested Francis Fidelis, a 34-year-old who operated across state lines, preying on unsuspecting residents.

Fidelis, originally from Port Alcott River State but active in Lagos, allegedly rented short-term apartments in upscale areas like Parkview Estate. This allowed him access to residents, whom he then robbed.

Acting on community reports of suspicious activities, the Zone 2 police command launched an investigation. A sting operation between February 6th and 7th, 2026, led to Fidelis's arrest on Fermi Pedro Street.

Authorities recovered a significant haul of stolen items, including jewelry, tools like gongs and hammers, a Mercedes-Benz, and other valuables totaling over N3 billion.

Police are urging short-term apartment rental operators to thoroughly vet their customers to prevent criminal activities and avoid legal repercussions.
